Been going to Dr. Freyne For about 13 years. So, I think I can actually speak from experience and not just a one time thing like the other reviews. I recommend her as a Rheumatologist to anyone. I think the bad reviews come from impatient people expecting too much from an office that has a wait time like anywhere else you go. She is worth the wait, and waiting in an office is very typical. Why do you think its called a "waiting room". If you want an excellent Dr. that cares then I suggest you go. The staff does a great job considering how busy things can get. Dr. Freyne takes time with each patient and she will do the same for you when it is your turn. She is the only physician in this office. It's not a place with 5 different Dr's....she deserves better reviews than this so I had to speak up. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. This woman has zero bedside manner, lacks empathy and is void of compassion. My 70 year old mother was told that she would not live another ten years and that she guaranteed she would break a bone before then and not expect to live a year after that... talk about insensitive. Why not try using words like "if" or hopefully etc. I'm floored by the cut and dry behavior my mom was given. She left in tears. She doesn't lead a life where she is sporty and running or climbing etc! So appalled at the diagnosis and extremity of dismal news. It was her first visit to this woman- needless to say she will not be going back. Finally, after reading her responses to some of her reviews... I'm further shocked. No customer service. Dr. Freyne, I am not going to insult your intelligence or say you don't know what you are doing. Clearly, you are bright and know exactly what you are doing. I stopped going to you because the last shot you gave to me, in my knee, hurt extremely. You were talking and doing more than just giving me the shot; you were multitasking. When you give shots, your attention should be completely on the patient. The shot hurt because the needle was moving. You rush around the office so fast doing so many things at once. Please, just slow down and pay attention to who is in front of you. It broke my heart to stop seeing you as my doc. However, I left your office in tears and can not do that again. read more

I had my first visit today with Dr. Freyne and had a very good experience. She took the time to go through my medical history that I brought with me from my previous doctor. She was very thorough with her exam and the fact that she was very interested in my diagnosis from my previous doctor made me feel very comfortable. read more

She is very thorough and is very knowledgeable about arthritis. I have been taking my mother there and I feel she is addressing all of her needs. Incompetent staff. My doctor had referred me to this office. The staff reached out to me saying my authorization went through and scheduled me an appointment. I arrived early to my appointment and filled out tremendous amounts of detailed paperwork. When I handed it to the lady at the front desk, she stated I needed authorization and I can no longer be seen today. Unbelievable! First, why did she give me the papers to fill out? Second, my consults in the past won't even let me make an appointment without authorization, so why did she? The lady stated I would have to reschedule. I requested the day off to make it to this appointment and had my 6 month old baby crying in the lobby and I was refused care. If I could give 0 stars I would! I am a caregiver for an elderly patient that has been going to Dr Freyne for a few years. I had run across the Yelp reviews by accident and started reading them. Everyone that gives a poor review is right. She has a terrible bedside manner and doesn't show any empathy towards patients. The wait times are rediculous, sometimes 2 hours. I couldn't get an appointment to see her when my charge was very ill and asked for a chest X-ray due to a very bad cough. Got the order and went for the X-ray the same day. I called MANY times to get the results with no luck. I took her in for her regular appointment a week later and brought this up to the Dr. She stated in her rude manner that a prescription had been called in to the pharmacy and didn't they call me? I asked how I would know there was an Rx if her office never returned my calls? She got very defensive and proceeded to argue with me about how we should've called the pharmacy and wouldn't take any responsibility herself. I had enough before this ordeal but this sealed it, we're looking for a more competent office with a doctor that actually cares about the patient and not just the $ she gets from the infusions. read more

The absolute WORST dr experience I have EVER had!!!2 hour wait just to get called back!! I ended up leaving and not even seeing the doctor!! Mind you, this was simply to review test results.. such a disrespect of time.. i have 5 autoimmune diseases, it took enough time for me to push through chronic fatigue to get there, let alone sit there that long! I had been seeing Dr Freyne ever since I was dx'd with RA over Summer 2019. At first, i was content: her office is in Murrietta, not too far from where we live in Hemet. Her style is a bit abrupt, but that didn't bother me overly as it moves patients along in a timely manner. I didn't care for the fact that the same questions were repeatedly asked, over and over. I frequently felt she was so intent on asking questions that she wasn't listening to my answers. On 10/29/19, I had a 10:00 appointment with her. I had gone off the Orencia she put me on as I felt it wasn't helping me at all. I requested a different medicine to see how it might work. She told me I had to wait 6 weeks and come in an have a blood test, AT HER OFFICE, BECAUSE NONE OF THE LOCAL BLOOD LABS COULD DO IT. She said it was not necessary to make an appointment for this test. She emphasized that point several times. On 12/9/19, we went to her office to have the blood draw done. I was told by the person at the counter that because I had no appointment, I had to wait until all patients with appointments had been seen and then I would be seen. I told her repeatedly that that was NOT what the doctor had said, that since it was simply a blood draw, I could just come in without an appointment. After that, my husband tried talking to her, with the same results. The remaining staff in the office began laughing amongst themselves and saying they had to train the doctor to quit telling clients to come in for blood work without an appointment because it messes up their day. I should have kept my mouth shut up at that point, but I didn't and I apologize for anyone I may have offended. But i did ask whose name is on the door - that of the doctor or the staff. Then we told the staff to let the doctor know the office should consider itself fired. As we never heard from the doctor so she could ask what happened, I wrote a letter, marking it PERSONAL AND CONFIDENTIAL. We have no idea if she received the letter, or if a member of her staff did away with it. read more

Any other rheumatologist would be a better choice. If you have all day to waist, don't mind waiting 3 to 4 hrs to see doc, then you came to the right place. After 2 years I decided to find another doctor. I don't mind waiting a long time for my app if the doctor is good. This doctor just didn't care about anything I had to say, any new symptoms, she just didn't listen. My new rheumatologist completely changed my meds and in less than 2 months was feeling so much better. Dr freyne didn't accomplish this in the 2yrs I gave her. Not to mention that if she prescribed me a new med and this was not covered by my insurance, I had to schedule another app to see doc so she can give me something else. I remember I had to see her 2 times a week sometimes because meds needed to be changed, and she would not do it with out appointment, ridiculous! The reason for my ER visit has nothing to do with rheumatology. It's sad that you have to make excuses for your bad service and care. You are suppose to treat your patients the way you would want to be treated. Aside from no bed side manners, Dr. Freyne lacks compassion for her patients. We look up to our doctors for answers and hope to get the best care possible, so it's very disappointing when we deal with doctors like You. My husband came with me to my last app, and he told me to find a new doctor. When I was explaining my new symptoms, doc responded she was not concerned and didn't even bother to do an assessment. Later when I explained this to my new rheumatologist, she was able to diagnose the problem after running the proper tests. I'm not asking for miracles but just to be heard. read more

This office is HORRIBLE!!! My mother always has to dispute her bill. She is constantly told she owes when in fact she does not owe!!! We overheard an elderly male, about 80years old get reprimanded for his $5 balance. They refused to see him. Every time my mother goes she waits over TWO HOURS!!! She should have her license revoked because she doesn't check patients. She just comes into the room, sits on her computer and pretends to listen. She never corrects the front office and they are completely horrid. If I could give 0 stars I would. read more

Waiting time is ridiculous. Usual wait time to get called to window to pay your copay is 20 minutes. Meanwhile the receptionist needs help as she is taking calls, making calls, checking people in, making follow up appts, checking insurance, taking copays, calling to get her computer fixed pushing wait time out further and ordering lunch for the office. By the time you get in to see the Dr. It will be well past an hour of your actual appt time. It does not matter if you book early morning or afternoon. Waiting room is always packed. Dr is not compassionate and has not helped me in the 6 months I've been coming so far. I almost feel as if she thinks I am lying about my pain. I was referred by my primary care to Dr. Freyne. At my first appointment, I had to wait 1.5 hours. I was trying to be understanding as I was a new patient. But when I saw the doctor, she seemed rushed and distracted. She either didn't read my chart or didn't hear me explain my history. I feel like I left without any answers or real treatment plan. My two subsequent visits have all included 1.5 hour wait times followed by rushed visits. I've even had to leave because I had to get back to work. Then I have to reschedule and take more time out of my week. I pay a ridiculous amount for my health care, and it just seems so unprofessional to not care about patients' wasted time. Her staff seems overwhelmed and stressed as well. It seems as though this doctor could benefit from a management consulting company. read more

I was referred to Dr. Freyne from my primary Dr for Rheumatology. She seems very thorough in her approach. I was diagnosed according to her with fibromyalgia. Along with that I've had a back problem I've lived with for over 30 years. She prescribed pain killers and muscle relaxers for my fibromyalgia. Recently I've been laid up in bed with excruciating body and mostly back pain. I consulted my spine Dr. he recommended I get an MRI before I see him. So I needed a referral. So since Dr. Freyne was handling my pain issues I called her office. This was on September 17,2018 today is September 24,2018 and I have yet to be contacted by her office for a simple referral for am MRI. Needs less to say I'm beyond disappointed and know have to wait to get into see my primary as I'm in pain barely able to walk. I would not ever go to her office again. Reviews that state patients don't feel listened to; that state that there seems to be a lack of respect or concern for patient time; reviews stating long wait times? Reviews that state staff incompetence? I can confirm all of that, which is why there is only a 3 star rating. Reviews stating a cool demeanor? Yes perhaps, but extreme intelligence as well. The wait times ARE ridiculous. The office replies to reviews that make it appear that the long wait time someone experienced was an "unusual circumstance" does not make it true. I have dreaded having to make an appointment with this office because no matter what time of day it is, I see the doctor for roughly 10 minutes after waiting in the lobby for usually more than an hour and in the room for another 30 minutes before I have a 2 minute exam and the pleasure of watching someone type on a laptpp. The long wait times are NORMAL. 9 am appointment will get you out around 11, and even getting the first appointment of the day does not make the wait time shorter. I have had labs submitted under incorrect patient data or insurance number, and to top it off, no records are shared with primary care regarding the results of the tests... and in order to get the results of your tests you HAVE TO make an appointment to sit for another 2 hours to hear that everything looked good. read more

NO one called anyone about me. Unless somehow they were able to do it without ever saying my name. EVEN IF this were the case, it does not take 2 hours to make a simple phone call. the doctor still did not review any of my copious medical records and several people were brought back for appointments after my appointment time - bumping me. Took my daughter to her appt today. Office called yesterday to ask if we could come at 10:30 for an 11:00 appointment so the paper work and vitals could be done prior to seeing the Dr. We got there at 10:25. Paper work and vitals were completed by 10:55. Then we wait 1 1/2 hours to see the Dr. Totally rediculus. Watched 2 patients complain about the wait and then they left without seeing the Dr. If my daughter wasn't so sick we would have walked also. The office personal could only say sorry. They suggested an early am appt if we did not want to wait. Our next appt is for 8:15 am. I have better things to do than sit in a Dr office for 2 hours. read more

Be prepared to wait for your appointment, and I mean at least 1.5 hours and don't expect to be heard about your complaints. Best advise I can give is make sure Dr Freyne hears your complaint and responds to it; make sure she is looking at you and not at her laptop. I have just finished reading other reviews in which patients describe wait times of 1.5 hours or more, and responses to them from Dr. Freyne's office in which those wait times are described as abnormal and not typical. I am sitting in the waiting room as I type this, waiting for my daughter (who was called in at 5:05 for an appointment that had been scheduled for 3:30). When I asked the receptionist if we could expect to wait an hour or more at EVERY appointment, she said yes!! "We are very busy." I find that response to be unacceptable and completely dismissive of my time and value as a customer. Yes, I have read the criticisms of Dr. Freyne's office but decided I had to judge for myself, especially since my Primary Doc highly recommended Dr. Freyne. I am glad i did. The intake process was tedious (writers cramp and deep concentration). The staff however, were courteous, attentive and offered assistance when requested, even to call a cab for me because my husband, after our 2 hour wait, had to get to another appointment. Dr. Freyne is a lovely, young, knowledgeable and attentive doctor. I understand why the long office wait; Dr. Freyne is thorough and detailed in her intake info and examination. That means long sessions with patience. So, make your appointment, take a good book and some water with you and receive excellent doctoring. read more

I have been working with several doctors regarding an extremely painful, debilitating condition for around a year, when I was eventually sent to Dr. Freyne. Dr. Freyne did not seem interested in the details of my symptoms and history. She spent only a few minutes and sent me to take some tests. When the tests proved nothing, she spent only a few minutes and recommended I do something that I've already tried that didn't work. She did not listen when I mentioned this; she summarily dismissed me without discussing the issue further. Just by googling, I found there are all kinds of issues that match my symptoms that do not show up in these tests or resolved by her recommendation. Also, the wait time was ridiculous. read more

Please use extreme caution if considering seeing this Dr. Do your research and try other natural options. Dr. Freyne does not answer patients question, explain diagnosis or discuss treatment options. After seeing her for over a month, blood tests, X-rays she prescribed medication for gout. Went into her office during a "flare up" (that continued for months after being on gout medication) and was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, based on symptoms. Was told the RA was a disease that was not curable. Upon reading the side affects of the medication decided not to take it and change diet (avoiding anything that causes inflammation, like dairy, coffee, alcohol) and starting juicing every day, all symptoms have gone away and no flares ups for months. Medication is not the only answer, but it's the only thing a Dr is educated in. Also beware of "monetary gain" Dr has with certain drug manufactures. Suddenly they will start calling you with telemarketing sales pitches to sign up for their drugs. Value your overall health and quality of life and seek alternatives to meds. read more

Since moving from the east to west coast I experienced an intense sudden onset of extremely dry eyes. I'm talking dry as a desert, painful and swollen. First I went to my primary, then to a eye specialist, then an even more experienced specialist who sent be back to my M.D. with a laundry list of labs. Labs come back a little off and My family physician had me terrified. I spent a week convinced I was dying, I was referred to to Dr. Freyne and I showed up a bundle of nerves. She performed a quick but detailed assessment and gave the simple most logical answer as to probable cause of my dry eyes. I went to three doctors before her and none of them caught it. Her Tx plan was to stop taking a medication I was taking. Guess what.... she was right! Eyes immediately got better and she reran labs to ease my mind. Dr. Freyne takes the time to assess the patient as a whole and not just the presenting symptoms. I m thankful to have been referred to her. read more

I went into Dr. Brigid Freyne's office on August 17, 2015, in Murrieta, California, for the first time. I filled out the medical history, consent and financial responsibility forms, and I did not sign the "Physician-Patient Arbitration Agreement" form. "Denise," the receptionist at Dr. Freyne's office, told me that I would not be seen by Dr. Freyne if I did not agree to the arbitration agreement and sign the form. I asked her if as a condition of being seen by Dr. Freyne, I was required to sign the form and she said that it was "the doctor's policy." I left Dr. Freyne's office. It would've been nice to have known that Dr. Freyne requires her patients to waive their right to a jury trial beforehand. One star for ambushing me with the arbitration agreement "policy." read more

Again if you would have listened you would know that I've been diagnosed for a year now and I'm very aware of the process but every doctor I've seen makes it very clear of when exactly they'd like to see me back or to make a follow up which you did not otherwise an appointment would have been made. The fact that you go out of your way to comment on yelp reviews of patients who are upset with their visit and defend yourself rather than hear them out and take the feedback into consideration says enough. Id rather pay $200 out of pocket every 3 months for a doctor who isn't in my network than see you. read more

The office wait is bad but the staff is nice and Dr. Freyne is pretty smart about medicine, I too was freaked by having to wait an hour and a half to see her, she has a lot of patients. She is quick and not very personal but an adequate doctor. She needs to be less of a machine and more of a person. Dr. Freyne is the most competent and detailed rheumatologist I've had the pleasure of meeting. Yes her waiting room time can be long, but you'll find that at most offices nowadays. I do recommend that new patients definitely come 30 minutes prior to their appointments since there is quite a bit of paperwork to fill out, but I can promise you it's all worth it. She inspected every one of my joints, looked through every piece of my medical history, and took her time speaking to me and making me feel very safe in her care. Sorry to be honest, however: the doctor service is horrid. Waited well over an hour for a so called specialist appointment referral, not sure why still? The pre-forms are ridiculous and then asked again from the doctor herself, even during getting my blood pressure, the assistant answered the phone twice blowing up the pressure mechanism the first time. Once shuffled into the exam room, the Doctor Bridge stormed in with out any kind of doctor patient relationship attempt and proceeded to scream down the hall to get her plug in for her falling battery of her lap top. The next 4-5 minutes were challenging with her asking repeated questions from the pre-forms and all done so through her lap top screen between you and her face/ lack of any eye contact or personal connection. Doctor Freyne then preceded to do a quick 5 step exam of toe and arm reaching, only to ask "Why are you here?" "I am going to request another blood test, ( not even having the initial results of the first referral in hand) And x-rays of 12 parts of your body. Just for precautionary reasons, come back in 2 weeks, bringing your own results." NEVER WOULD OR WILL RETURN AGAiIN. Doctors must practice medicine and patient consultation with more than just collecting a payment. read more

Yes the wait time is ridiculous but I only put up with it because I like Dr. Freyne and respect her opinion. I've actually talked to Dr. Freyne about her office staff and I know that she is trying to do something about it. She's a good doctor but you have to pull her people personality out of her.. I have been seeing Dr. Freyne for over 5 years for Fibromyalgia and arthritis. I believe she has given my life back. I had horrible pain, which kept me in bed and away from life. She has found what works for me for my chronic pain and consistently has me get bloodwork and other necessary testing. I now consider her my primary doctor and she always makes sure I get annual mammograms. Love her! read more
