I got professional watercolors and burshes, mica pigments for watercolor & calligraphy, leather paints, a good assortment of tombow dual brush pens and other markers for calligraphy, professional grade watercolor paper & black printmanking paper, and a few more miscellaneous items like erasers and sharpeners for my work. Occasionally, a box may need a small strip of tape, and most employees either tape it for me at no charge or hand me the tape so I can do it myself. At this location, I didn't think twice and used the tape that was sitting out on the counter. It was not hidden, and I did not reach behind the counter. I simply used a small strip of packing tape on a standard box. As soon as Jerry saw me tape the top of the box, he said, "We charge for tape." I told him they should have a sign posted, and he just repeated, "We charge for tape." I was charged $5 for one small piece of tape. For that price, I could have bought an entire roll. The money is not the main issue; it was Jerry's attitude and lack of customer service. If the store charges for tape, that should be clearly posted, and customers should be treated with respect. Very disappointing experience. Customers are the reason businesses stay open, and this location needs to do better.

Stay away from Staples shredding service!!!!…read more I went to Staples on PCH in Torrance, CA to have some unused business checks shredded. Staples uses Iron Mountain for their shredding service. There are locked bins, into which you put the documents you want shredded. I paid for the shredding and the next day I received a call from my banker asking me if I had issued at check for $15,000 to a person unknown to me who had attempted to deposit it to a Bank of America account. (I received a copy of the fraudulent check from my bank). The check was written on one of the blank checks I had put in the bin to be shredded, so their shredding process is not secure. I went back to Staples and talked to the store manager, who was very nice, but all she said she could do was give me the phone number of Staples Corporate. I then called the number, but after about 1/2 hour of trying, it was impossible to get a human on the line to explain what happened. I then called Iron Mountain at the phone number they have on the bins and same thing, their phone tree doesn't enable anyone to make a complaint or a claim. I did speak with a customer service representative finally (who was out of country and hard to understand) and they assured me that someone would get back to me via email, which I provided them. In the meantime, I had to close the account the check was written on and open another account, transfer funds, etc. A real headache! Staples and Iron Mountain customer service is extremely poor and their shredding service in unsecure and potentially damaging and dangerous. It would be interesting to know if Iron Mountain maintains any form of chain of custody records relating to who picks up on specific dates at specific locations. Stay away from the Iron Mountain shredding service. By the way, if anyone from Staples or Iron Mountain reads this I'll leave contact information with the manager of the Staples Store.

They exchanged it for a Table which was a Cherry Wood Color and matched nothing in room. They took table back and we waited another 8 months and the finally delivered yet another cherrywood Table. My cabinets were walnut. We called and spoke to Leon the Owner, who said we said Number 1 the damaged table was the Cherrywood color and what we ordered, it wasn't! The Table is Beautiful but not Walnut. We kept it because Leon said it was the best he could do. I recommend not Ever Buying anything that needs to be ordered and made. They are very ignorant when they mess up and it takes forever. We paid $ 4,000 for something that must be covered all the time.
