Brinks is very good at charging for "services". They are also very good at providing information that is not correct. We found out a few weeks ago that our tenant had cut the wires to our alarm panel in April 2023 so there was no connection to Brinks. Yet Brinks happily collected our service fees totaling $2079.84 for three years while rendering NO service. They jeopardized our fire insurance which requires a centrally-monitored fire alarm. There was no such monitoring for 3 years. When making a call for service to replace a part that the tenant broke in 2023, we were told that the part would be shipped to Wired Contracting Inc. This (also using the name AZ Alarm Co.) is the same company from our original contract in 2016. When we asked to have the part sent to AZ Alarm, the reliable service in the contract, we were told that they are not an affiliate of Brinks. We contacted AZ Alarm with which we have the contract and were told that the same person owns Wired Contracting Inc. and AZ Alarm. Their offices are at the same address. We were told that they are not affiliated with Brinks who has taken many of their customers by misleading information. We then contacted Brinks again to find out where they were shipping the needed part. This time we were told that the part would be shipped to AZ Alarm! Another contact with AZ Alarm resulted in their saying that they do not accept shipments from Brinks and that the part would most likely be sent to Brinks' local technician. (On the day of the appointment, we learned that this is exactly what happened.) Do not trust Brinks! They duped us into another 2-year contract when we called to have the system repaired in late April 2026. We are demanding that the contract be cancelled and asking for a refund of the fees collected for NO service and our jeopardized fire insurance. read more

If you are in a contract with Brink's alarm system, DO NOT EXTEND your contract. Apparently when I extended my contact for 3 years, a month later they offered me a new price that said extend it for 2 years, so I click that one so I could have the new price for a 2 year term. Instead, they said it added the 2 year on top of the 3 year, so now I have a 5 year contact (2023, so 29 months left). Management is "not accessible" to customers. Run from Brinks Home! Quality of service is subpar and the systems are NOT worth it as well. Make sure to get any changes to your systems in writing because they will say you verbally agreed to an extended contract and then your stuck with a surprised pay off bill. Was going to move my security system to a 2nd property but the house isn't ready yet. My existing home will be turned into a rental and I wasnt planning on paying for an alarm system for now. When you call this company to tell them the equipment is not working, for examples cameras on the house, to get on a ladder and work with them to trouble shoot. If you can't then 'can you find a neighbor to help you'. Seriously? The customer service people are aggressive and put whatever is wrong on you and if YOU can't help THEM then YOU are the problem. I pay a LOT of money for the products I have from them and $75 a month extra so I CAN have someone come out and then they say 'oh we can't get you an appt on a Monday or Friday. Beware of Brinks Contract is 60 months like buying a car Their keypad is small and often does not respond to inputs resulting in alarm going off . Key fob is a safe way to arm and disarm system. But all those alarms no call but wait contract states owner is responsible for making sure system works.Most systems are programed with exit zones and when armed they give a delay time to turn off system . But many times I forget open windows and it's on a delay . Last but not least the sighn is what chases away would be intruders I asked never got one but they did take away the ADT sighn.Up to you but read conract before agreeing to anything and don't fall for thier replacing ADT units for them I never felt so stupid when I did . read more

Customer service is awful. They told me I'd receive a call back by 5:30 CST, three separate times, and never once received a call back. The products they supply are very poor quality - even the tech admitted he "leaves them sitting in his truck for a while" while it's 112 degrees outside.... The thermostat died 3 days later so I'm stuck without AC (I've purchased a different thermostat) until they send another tech out ... which they claim can't happen until 9/5... over a week away! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! Way better options out there for your money. read more

I would like to leave 0 stars, unfortunately that's not an option. They quoted a reasonable 3 year locked in rate, however, they add on hidden monthly fees which jacked the rate up. Their technical support team is horrible - they are never able to resolve anything whenever I call. I've been anxiously awaiting the end of my contract with them so that I could switch to a competent alarm company. I gave them the mandatory 30 day notice so that I would not be billed for an additional month, but SURPRISE!!!, they went ahead and billed me for a 'disconnection fee', which they claim would take up to 30 days to perform. They claim that they have to contact the police department, insurance company, etc. to let them know that I am dropping service with them. My question...couldn't that be done during the last month of service by giving the impacted parties the date that the service is being disconnected??? Oh hell no, why do that when you can screw the customer into paying additional money even after they fulfilled the stipulations of the contract. The representative that I spoke to said that this was 'standard business procedure'. My question is, why wasn't this written on the contract? I will be contacting the Attorned General about this fee and see what they have to say about that practice. My advice...run away, run away, run far away!!!! read more

I have been with monitronics for over 20 years! Paid my bill every month. I had faulty equipment and they gave my the run around to replace. Finally I thought I will just close the account and start with another company. When I attempted this, the agent in their retention unit, treated me with respect and listened to what I need and promised the equipment that I needed would be sent to my home. I agreed and signed a three year contract. She even got me free shipping and a $10 a month discount. Then the package arrived, missing some of the equipment. I call, multiple times, getting different answers every time. Of course, they need money for the promised equipment. I said no, I signed a contract for that. So I am told to call different units a few times. Then I get to what I believe is the correct unit. I am then told, the agent needs to call me back. I waited for over 30 minutes, no call back. I believe now a week later, still no call back. I call back and I am interrupted during the conversation. I am told it is going to cost over $400 to now complete the request. I said then I want to cancel my contract. She then says, it will cost 80% of the contract total for that. So basically I have no option but to continue to pay for the contract with the faulty equipment or buy the equipment and continue with the contract. She had no care or empathy for my situation. She actually offered to send me the equipment with a 300 coupon she happened to have but I would need to add 14 months to my contract and pay over $100. I feel very disappointed and taken advantage of with predatory sales by this company. I encourage anyone thinking of doing business with this company to use caution and shop around. Triple A seems to be a good option and they were more professional. I tried the loyalty thing, and they don't seem to care about that! I am beyond frustrated with my Brinks home security equipment. It hasn't worked in over a year and no matter how many times I call, I can't seem to get a technician to come out and fix it. This is now the second time I have been stood up by them. I have had to take off work not once, but twice, to accommodate their scheduled appointments and yet they don't even bother to show up. Their customer service is abysmal, always just offering empty apologies but never taking any action to actually solve the issue. The price we pay for home security is not worth the disrespect and carelessness shown by Brinks. I expect better from a company like Brinks that is supposed to be keeping my home and family safe as well as not wasting my time and money! It's plain unacceptable. DO NOT USE BRINKS! I have been a customer of ADT for many years. Brinks contacted me and said they now had this territory, so I went with them. Brinks used to have a good name so I felt OK with using them. They have been nothing but a headache. They install your equipment and then, if you need anything, you have to call a sweatshop, manned by people that have no idea what they're doing. When you escalate, they tell you the only way to get someone out to look at the system that's malfunctioning is to pay them $250 or buy their insurance plan ($75 per visit plus an additional $16 per month). There's no company provided support that's free of charge other than the phone sweatshop. They told me they couldn't come out for at least a week even though I agreed to pay $75 and purchase the insurance plan. I escalated and was told that Brink's can't escalate when the technician comes out because they are a third party and Brink's has no control over them. What business model is this where the Corporation can't influence their customer service level? You'd be better off buying an Amazon alarm system and installing it yourself because BRINKS is a total rip off. They should be out of business. Never go with Brinks. They are very happy to sell you a system, but their customer service is terrible once you have a system. Turns out when you cancel they won't let you cancel for 30 days so they can clip you for another month of service. My panel was disconnected for 4 days and they never notified me of a problem. read more

Buyer beware! After over 5 yrs using this service- we called to cancel our service today and was told it would cost $1214 to do so. We have had Brinks Security since 7/2019 in our home. According to Brinks today, we "signed" a new contract 3/16/2022 which was apparently initiated via a email advertisement from them to us on 2/22/22. We did not authorize this and completely unaware it was done until today when we wanted to cancel. We definitely would not extend a service we had already had for 3 yrs into another contract for another 4 yrs. There was no need! We were paying the same amount in the mths leading up- there was no $ saved! We did not receive any equipment. We never knowingly "logged in" and approved this! I am assuming it occurred automatically when our next automatic mthly bill was due/paid but Brinks "customer service" stated they are "only able to see we logged into the system on 3/16/22 and approved it". Obviously from our response today- we were unaware this was done! Brinks "customer service" told me I "can get a lawyer if we want but that the contract is legally biding". Brinks will rip you off. They will not service their own equipment. They bill you after you call and cancel service. I've had a bill for 5 months after we moved. They stated since the new owner did not continue service. I'm responsible to keep paying. There's nothing I can do about it read more
