I did some extensive research (including having the big dogs like ADT out) and compared reviews / quality of equipment / pricing and level of comfort on who I would like to use as my security experts. I have a technology background and from the very start I could tell Jared understood my needs and suggested the route I should go and what equipment I might need. I told him I wanted 6 hard wired cameras / 2 security panels / 2 smart thermostats / a smoke detector tied into their system and my 2 smart locks linked as well. He actually talked me out of one panel which saved me a bunch of money and am super happy as I use the app most of the time bs the actual panel. They came and finished the install in one day as promised and now I can monitor front / sides and the back of the house, open the front and the garage door remotely, turn the heat or A/C on and off, be notified of a fire and actually asked about a carbon monoxide detector while install guy was here and that is now also installed. All the doors and windows had sensors and they tested them all including the shatter glass sensors I had. They will also be doing the monitoring with no contract - I am super happy with the pricing and level of service I received. Don't hesitate to use them for your future needs. read more

I was referred to Tekna by a friend who's had their system for a little over 3 years. They love their system and the personal contact they have with the company (they call the company directly and locally). I was going to go with ADT but decided to hear them out (Tekna) and very glad I did! The representative was on time, very thorough, answered all our questions and beat ADT's cost by hundreds (about $450) of dollars. We've now had our system for a little over two months. We just called our rep for a question on the system. We left a message and he called back 20 minutes later! Service like that should be rewarded and I'll tell anyone that asks, how great they are. read more

I apologize for the lengthy review. I felt I had to really explain to show the amount of support this company has given our family. When we moved into the state and decided to buy a home we reached out to security companies early. We started by eliminating companies that had poor customer service or clearly inflated costs. I can't even recall how I found a number for Tekna but the gentleman I talked to was amazing. He answered all my questions and when asked to follow up in 3 months he had no problem. I did not receive any pestering calls until 3 months later, as asked. Once we did the in home estimate again, he was through. Heard our concerns and answered all our questions. After we got estimates from 3 other companies we went back to Tekna to ask for some negotiation because another company was more competitively priced. Not only did they match the price but they gave us several months to repay the install price because we didn't have the cash at the time but had an urgency to have the system installed quickly. At install things took a little longer than estimated but having a technical wiring background I'm able to be understanding because I grasp the complexity of the work. The technician got the system setup and working. We have had the system for over 6 months now. I've called my salesman several times to ask for changes that I hadn't considered at the time of install and each time he made sure I was put in contact with the right people to solve the issue and followed up to make sure it was resolved. I've spoke with REAL and LOCAL people. ALL of them helpful, considerate, understanding and patient. With a system that works great and a support staff like this I will ALWAYS recommend Tekna. read more

There was NO pressure, Jared answered all my many questions, and we are very pleased with the package we selected. Wow... what a difference... We had been customers with ADT and were not happy with ADT at all... We had met Jared at the SAHBA Home Show and discussed options with our alarm. From start to finish the whole process was seamless. Jared discussed our current system with us, and ways we can improve it. We were offered more sensors and a fantastic price. After more discussions we signed our contract. We were given an appointment a week later. We had follow up calls from both the installer and Jared our Sales Rep confirming everything. Today Joey our installer had everything changed over within a couple hours, and then showed us how everything worked. Fantastic customer service. Joey was very professional from start to finish. Let me describe my experience with Tekna and Jared their sales reprehensive' We are building a new home and so we set up an appointment to have Tekna look at providing a alarm. Jared promised there would be no out of pocked costs. He asked for a one hour window for his appointment in case the traffic was bad. We set 9:00 to 10:00. The first indication all was not well was the day before when the promised confirmation of the appointment text never came. I called the company and they told me they could not transfer me to him only send a companywide message. The next day 9:00 came, 9:30 came, 10:00 came. No Jared. I called the company and again they cannot put me in contact with anyone I can speak to. I ask for Jared's supervisor and they said they can only give him a message. Sure enough, after the call I get a text from Jared saying he will be late by 20 to 25 minutes. 45 minutes later he shows up. Nothing he promised was true. The system was going to have an upfront cost of $1,200 to $1,500 and by the way he would be my contact for the entire length of my contract. If Jared is an example if their service, they have none. If his supervisor is an example of their service, they have none as I never got a call from him. If they refuse to perform before I sign on the dotted line I cannot imagine the nightmare it must be after I sign. read more

Very unhappy with Tekna, took them 5 visits to install what they said would be installed in one visit. How many times can you not have the parts? The installers didn't listen and didn't "group" things into the zones we asked (after the third time we asked we just gave up). Definitely not a company I would send a friend to... read more
