From day one this company has been an issue. We bought a home with their system already installed so we were stuck with them. We needed additional coverage and some specialized equipment and were assured they could handle our requests. The salesperson completely mislead us on what they could and could not do and our first tech 100% didn't set up our system correctly. Subsequent visits have been equally disappointing with exception of one tech that seemed to care about his work product. I am constantly getting sent docusign contracts that are expired and that don't relate to my account. Our current representative refused to provide his supervisor information so I am relegated to writing this review. There are several other alarm companies in AZ....I suggest you pass on AAA.....they care nothing about a customer experience. *******I was promised a call from my rep's supervisor. I purchased the home security w/ outside camera and sensor lights. the installer misplaced the camera and the lighting was extremely low. two days later my license plates were stolen. a few months after that my indoor camera was cut while I was burglarized. Ithe door lock combo was broken, a helpful tech came out. I'm under warranty but my front camera ( burglarized) isn't covered. as a premium customer I thought the warranty would cover the tech visit, and outside camera/ sensor lights. otherwise why bother?! the point is to prevent burglars not encore them. i will cancel asap, was told i " purchased the equipment "- yet i can't return it? avoid AAA! read more

They make it impossible for you to get out of contract. I had service for 9 days. I made several phone calls trying to figure out the system (thinking it was user error). Apparently there is a 5 day cancellation timeframe that nobody told me about. I could cancel but I was still going to be responsible for the equipment that was wired into my home. The system does not work for me and my expectations. I definitely recommend staying with RING cameras. I was under the impression that I was getting an upgraded version of RING. I was mistaken. The lag time and the notifications DO NOT come close to RING technology. A3 was a complete waste of money. They trap you into keeping their system even when you decide 9 DAYS later that it doesn't work for you. They're suppose to troubleshoot the lag time since I'm being forced to reinstate. I now know that the notifications do not come thru like RING if you have an iPhone. I will update if any changes but at this time I am not hopeful just truly disappointed. GARBAGE!!!!! DONT DO IT! I love AAA, but their home security system is a useless scam. I bought the system primarily to secure 2 doors. Unfortunately,those 2 doors trip the alarm every time the wind blows, so I have to bypass them. I wasn't informed that the City I live in requires me to register a home alarm system, so I am required to pay the City in addition to the monthly monitoring. I will be held financially responsible for any false alarms. Having the system causes additional stress instead of relieving anxiety. I tried to cancel but was told I have a three year contract. At the time of purchase, I was told I have no contract. I asked repeatedly. I'm stuck paying another $600 for crap sensors and service so unreliable that it is worse than worthless. AAA is milking me for cash I need to provide for my family. DON'T DO IT! read more

Had their service since 2020. Twice we have a robery and a theft in our drive, the drive way camera only captures cats and my neighbor going for a walk while Theives and robbers get away. when i contacted the customer service, i was preached on the rules of the camera. Yesterday night by mistake, left my car unlocked, around 2 am (saw the video from my neighbors camera) some one stole 95$ rayban sunglasses and a botle of perfume. i contacted the customer service, instead of being sympathetic, one person told me, you can cancel the service and all your equiment (paid over 1400$) will be use less as i can only use them with the 31 $/ mo service, including my AC thermostat. I have to get an electrician to re wire the thermostat. called back again later the customer service rep wanted to to upsell me expensive cameras again. He told if i cancelled the service, i will have to go thru alarm.com to manage remotely and this is their system. So i just pay this company just to use the app. Don't waste money, better go for Blink or ring or some other camera systems at costco or best buy or amazon, these cost way less and gets better result. if you are considering this service be mindful that you won't be able o use the equipment if you cancel the service. Since the service rep told me to talk to alarm.com, so betetr go with them. working on an alternate system then cancelling it. read more

I've been with them since 2007 and am moving to a rental house without a security system. I went online to cancel the service and the system said that someone would have to call me back in order to cancel the service. I received a call back the next day and, because I gave only 8 days notice to cancel, was told that I had to pay for an extra month (they require 10 days notice and won't pro-rate). This is a ridiculously bad policy but it gets even worse. I've been on auto-pay for as long as I can remember but was told that I had to provide a payment method for the last month's payment. I was driving and told them I couldn't get that info but reminded them that they had my auto-pay info and they should just charge it. Nope, they can't use the auto-pay for the final payment. I was quite angry and frustrated and told them that's their problem. Their answer, "We're going to send it to collections." Been a loyal customer for 17 years. They have the info to collect the final payment. They won't use it. They're going to send me to collections for $20. They're out of their minds and have zero concept of customer service. This will get paid from the refund for cancelling other services associated with the AAA brand. AAA security did reach out to me and resolved the issue to my satisfaction. read more

I received a call back the very next morning. Robin was able to go over my account and resolve the issue and was very apologetic. I understand AAA home security is fairly new. Hopefully all of these issues including call wait times etc. will get resolved and things will improve.. I didn't have much luck with the main number for home security however Robin was able to take the time to figure this out and really seems to care about customers instead of a lot of the other people I spoke with. This is a case of there are not many other options so they will treat their clients poorly. I requested a service I thought they provided. The dispatcher took the information and told me no problem they can take care of it. The technician arrives, says they don't do fire install systems and would let the home office know to cancel the service call and not charge. But of course they charge me, and when I called to let them know I should not have been charged, they researched it and said they could tell by GPS that the technician was there 10 minutes so they will just charge me half of the service price. It absolutely meant nothing that they sent out a technician knowing they don't even offer that service. And they absolutely didn't care that the tech didn't do a single thing for me as well as it clearly being their error. Unfortunately over the years I have referred three family members and two friends to them. It's time for the six of us to start researching alternate alarm system monitoring companies. read more

We just had our system installed so I will try to return after we have had weeks/months to experience the system in action. But being a AAA member and receiving that discount, plus a 40% sale on equipment that happened to pop up right as we went through our decision process made AAA SHS an obvious choice, almost bringing it down in price that would be comparable to a DIY system from SimpliSafe, which I considered as well. But since I decided on AAA, they have been very proactive in following up. Contacted by my sales rep and another rep that both offered themselves as my go-to for any questions or issues that came up before/during/after install. Day of install came and Rudy showed up right on time and got to work. He was very professional and knowledgeable and after install showed me how to work everything, got me all set up with the A3 Smart Home app (which utilizes the Alarm.com platform) on my phone as well as with the touch screen display that came with the system. An electrician is going to have to come out to do some wiring changes so that one outdoor patio camera, and our video doorbell can be installed, but other than that, everything went smoothly and seems to be working well. I have seen other reviews that speak of problems post-install, so I will be sure and return and either add addendum, or create another entry once I have some experience using the system. read more

This is theeeee worst system ever. DO NOT buy it as the product and equipment are misrepresented and it is NOT compatible with any Alexa, Google, and type of voice associated AI system. They tell you the motion detector has a range of 20 feet, it is 7 feet, and that is nuts and it doesn't reset for 15 minutes. The cameras also have poor range and none of them have flood lights. You cannot change entry/exit doors/windows to a "beep beep" - only option is a voice and if it's near a bedroom, that is horrible. The notifications and doorbell assistance are terrible and nothing is compatible to an Apple Watch. The sensors are ugly and obtrusive. DON'T DON'T buy it. Huge waste of money and they misrepresent the equipment and state you cannot cancel . read more
