    Amish Pretzel making
    Dawn T.

This place is amazing! You will get the best and freshest foods here. You can watch the process of fresh pretzel making. There are separate vendors for each type of food and you will wait in line, but it is so worth the wait. Just a sampling of what is available: Deli meat and cheeses, meat cuts, barbecue, fried chicken and rotisserie chickens, pies, cakes, pickles, chocolates, candies, fruit, vegetables, ice cream, donuts, fish, and more! If you want to get raw milk (which you can't get in New Jersey), you can find it here. You can also get cooked platters to eat while you're there. The seating areas are not fancy, but omg the food tastes so good! There is nothing fake or gimmicky about this place. This is the place where locals go for the quality food. Only open Thursday through Saturday. Parking is crazy on Saturdays. You might have to circle around 5 times before finding a spot. Restrooms are actually clean. Do yourself a favor and go to this place.

Ambiance was not really there tbh. Could be bc they were under construction but it definitely felt like we were in a warehouse. I got a blueberry glaze donut which was great and very moist. I also got the pigs in a blanket but was very disappointed when there was no salt on them. The salt really makes the pretzel imo. They did have an iced apple cider chai which I didn't get to try but sounded delicious unfortunately. Service was great tho and all the employees were very kind! Honestly this place was recommended to me over the Pennsylvania Dutch Amish Market so I was pretty disappointed as I ended up liking the other place better.

    Chocolate covered, bacon. It's good

My boyfriend has mentioned this market a few times so we decided to take a ride up so I could check it out. We were able to go on a Friday morning around 11:30am. They have limited hours and I believe are only open Thursday-Saturday. It's a nice and clean market. Plenty of parking. Entrances in the front and back of the building. Lots of different vendors inside: donuts, baked goods, vegetables, bbq food, candy/snacks, butcher, soft pretzels, deli, cheeses, and the list goes on. We purchased some veggies for dinner, rolls, apple dumplings, donuts, chicken croquettes...I think that's it! I wouldn't mind going there again if I'm ever in the area in a Saturday morning. Everything I've eaten so far has been great!

It's very busy lines move quickly, i like to get the butter from there, the pizza rolls, the grape lemonade and the donuts from the bakery.

We visit once or twice a month. Always get the wings. However the bakery no longer makes gluten free cakes. What shame

Everything is baked right on the premises and the aromas help to fill the air with sweets coming right out of the ovens. Mainly run by the Amish folks, they do hire help as I marveled at the gal with the Steeler's tee shirt on while she was making homemade cinnamon rolls, so I had to buy some of those. This area of the market is huge and I do mean filled to capacity with made from scratch whole of half cakes, cream, custard or fruit pies, breads, rolls, sticky buns, tarts, cobblers, whoopie pies, muffins, apple dumplings, cupcakes, cookies and of course shoofly pie. I know some of you who pay an arm and a leg for a cupcake, but here they are very reasonably priced and just as good and as fancy as the ones you pay top dollar for. I bought a half of a black forest cake, a half pumpkin cheesecake with a sour cream topping, both were so delicious, a few loaves of bread, two packages of freshly baked sandwich rolls, a few whoopie pies and a pumpkin roll, love pumpkin and this roll was filled to the brim with lots of cream cheese filling. I hate to bake, they love to bake and they do it so well. We have very few good bakeries nearby so it is a real pleasure knowing that I have the Dutch Country Bakery close enough for me to stock up the fridge, freezer, pantry and yes it will eventually be stored on our bodies. Oh well what a sweet way to do it.

I have never heard a complaint about something I bought from here. The breads, cookies, cakes, and especally the pies .. my mouth is watering. The price is on point too. I only wish they could be open every day!

The food alone is worth the trip! The giant BBQ turkey leg with mashed potatoes and gravy is a must-try. The ribs are also outstanding. I was derelict in my Yelping of this institution for far too long. I was here seeking out Amish cottage cheese which I haven't been able to get at the Trenton farmers market for many years. I knew it would be located in the Amish wing but I needed to walk the rest of the building too. I entered that section to find crowds of people everywhere. To view the prepared hot foods would have required standing in a long line just to eventually get close enough to peek at the cases. I found the cottage cheese prepackaged and decided to walk around the rest of the place before returning to make a few purchases. There were so many temptations in the Amish part, pretzels, prepared salad items, donuts, baked goods in general and of course the meats. The rest of Columbus has treasures to be found as well, depending on your outlook. Discount over the counter drugs, health and beauty, craft soda and pickles, clothes of all kinds, shoes, housewares. I could probably go on. Really something for everyone. My stroll took me past a chicken shop that once I caught the smell of its fried goods, I knew I'd be trying on my way back. At the far end where other food stalls are I saw a taqueria that I plan on trying next trip. With a bag full of fried goodness I was no longer concerned about the Amish foods. I grabbed the cottage cheese and walked out with just a bit of regret that I didn't snag a donut or a dozen. I popped into the produce building just to see what was there. Nice looking veggies but most were sold in bulk. Towards the end of this building is a seafood market that I've heard good things about. Now I have more reasons to return. 4.5 stars !
