    Nice dairy free selections...

Wegmans are always crazy packed, but anyway I went in to check for birthday cakes because the cakes they got for people at my job were pretty good. A small cake was like $16... they had slices for sale but even they were like $5 a pop. Aside from that they had a decent international food section, and their health/ granola bar section rivals Whole Foods pretty well...

The first impression walking in to this brand new Wegmans is that it is smaller than the sister store across the river in West Windsor, NJ. The second impression is that it has some confusion about its identity. Does it want to be a downsized warehouse store, or a semi-traditional supermarket, or several different shops under one roof with little interaction with each other? It could easily be a green grocer, a wine & beer outlet, a deli, or a bakery, given the layout and unnatural size of each component in relation to the whole. Plus, it is certainly not a discount house given the prices for items we could compare with nearby alternatives. Competitive; yes. Ass kicking saving; nope. So, you would have to have a reason to come here aside from the overall attractiveness of the facility. The outsized dimensionality of this Wegmans actually made me a little uncomfortable. It felt like the company had sent out its spies to determine what was hot in the area, and returned with a plan to duplicate the best of commercial local Bucks County in one place. Pizza shop? Check. Deli sandwiches? Check. Alcohol aisle+? Check. Greens/Dairy? Check. Fresh bread/desserts? Check. Etc. It even sold boxed tomato pie, just like Costco did a few months ago. We were left feeling like we were shopping in a copycat store, rather than a space noted for its originality and going its own way. Everyone we encountered who worked there was friendly and helpful, as expected. The weirdness of this identity crisis is not their fault. BTW, we only purchased a large pineapple and that tomato pie from all the things we saw. The fruit isn't ripe yet, but the TP was below average, with too thin layer of tomato sauce over too thick layer of pizza dough. I searched in vain for the maker of this pie, but that name was not listed beyond being distributed by Wegmans. Probably a good thing to protect that industrial bakery from harming its reputation. Maybe Wegmans will figure out what it wants to be here in Lower Makefield and reconfigure things to feel more appropriate. Hope so, because otherwise it offers little advantage to its surrounding competition.

Poor selection and very high prices compared with other nearby Wegmans locations. Skip this one.

I will start of by saying that the staff here is great and the store is always easy to navigate. It is a bit older of a store so it's a little dark inside but it is also always busy which makes it feel much more lively. they have extensive produce, a large cheese section and prepared food section. Their bakery is nice as well. Actually their cookies are some of my favorite grocery store cookies. The prices can be a bit high but when they have sales they are usually fairly good. I feel like it's a slightly "fresher" and "healthier" store but I have had a hard time finding more unique healthy items. Overall it's a great store, it's not my local store but it's nice to pop in when I'm in the area to pick up some items that the stores near me don't carry.

I wanted to share feedback regarding my recent experience with one of your checkout clerks,…read moreDelaney. I watched her interactions with the two guests ahead of me and was honestly surprised by how unhappy and disengaged she appeared. There were no smiles, no warmth, and her overall demeanor gave the impression that she disliked her job, disliked dealing with customers, and simply did not want to be there. As a business owner myself, I understand how important customer relationships are. The checkout counter is often the final impression a guest leaves with, and something as simple as a friendly smile or kind interaction goes a very long way when customers are spending their hard-earned money. I am from out of town and expected much more from what appears to be a boutique-style grocery store with a strong community feel. Stores like Trader Joe's are a great example of how positive, friendly interactions at checkout can completely elevate the customer experience. I even went so far as to ask Delaney if she was having a bad day, and the glaring stare I received in return ultimately prompted me to write this review. To be clear, I am not looking for anyone to lose their job. I simply believe some coaching in guest relations and customer interaction could make a tremendous difference. Delaney is very young, and I genuinely hope she either finds more joy in what she's doing or moves into something better suited for her personality and interests. Constructive feedback is meant to help businesses improve, and I hope this is received in that spirit.

They seem to use Lavazza Coffee- I've seen it in the stores, but I've never tried it directly. Both the coffee and the latte had full body flavor and were really nice. I had the same barista both visits - she was super nice. It's tucked away in a little shopping center in Yardley and the interior is certainly cute as far as coffee shops go. Next day: back for coffee and a croissant donut. Top shelf!!!

A few things that could really improve the experience: First, employees should never blow their nose behind the counter in view of customers. If it needs to be done, it should be done privately where guests can't see it. I appreciate that she washed her hands afterward, but it's still not something customers want to witness in a food setting. Second, tables should be wiped promptly when guests leave. Cleanliness is part of the overall experience. Third, the napkin dispenser should not be overstuffed. When it's packed too tight, the napkins rip, which frustrates customers. Then people end up pulling out a handful just to get one intact napkin. Lastly, you need two capable people running the front end. What I witnessed this morning was chaotic. One employee was trying to train someone, make cappuccinos and lattes, manage Grubhub orders, take care of guests, wipe tables, and keep everything moving -- all at the same time. That's simply not realistic, especially with a trainee. Again, this restaurant has great appeal and strong products. With better front-end staffing and attention to small operational details, it could easily be a five-star experience.
