Wonderful School! I am taking classes and trying to get into the nursing program. I have had a wonderful experience. The professors are wonderful, the admins are top-notch. I have Angela Boffi; she is brilliant. I would recommend this place to anyone who has a good work ethic. I had the most wonderful experience attending bristol, my freshman and sophomore year! I have the pleasure of meeting so many wonderful professors who've helped me today to get where I am today, i made friends. I can't say enough about this college and if they offered a master's degree program, I would be there in a heartbeat community college and all. I don't understand why there's so many lousy reviews. I did the Executive Administrative Assistant associate degree. I finished BCC in 1.5 years with a 3.6 GPA. I did not make any friends, but the students were nice. They held a few events. Education wise, I was not a big fan of the Dean of my program, but it's worth doing this program. I was able to do most of my classes online which was SUCH a big help since I was working part-time. This school has a partnership with NUWC so I got an Internship that's was above minimum wage from my very first semester, and now that I graduated I work there full-time. This is a great start and now I have bigger dreams than an Associate Degree & bigger than just being an assistant. read more

i wouldn't even give this trash ass school a 1 star. they're unorganized, only care about money. they're systems are always down so you're screwed during the first few weeks of your semester, but they don't give a fuck. they'll still fail you for the class knowing you couldn't even get your books because BCC is always dealing with some fucking technical difficulties, then when you're failed you are dismissed from the school because you were on academic probation. like what the fuck is an academic probation, why are you so worried about if im failing or not. i fail then I TRY AGAIN! but the school doesn't let you so now i have given the fuck up & won't even get to graduate college. i hate this school more than anything! read more

I feel a duty to tell people the real deal here so they can dodge this bullet. If I could give this "school" zero stars I would. This place has some of the most lazy, disinterested, and unhelpful professors I've ever seen. The majority of them are under qualified to work at Burger King, much less a junior college, they are highly unprepared on a daily basis and totally inflexible. These idiots wouldn't know a lesson plan if it smacked them in the face. There has to be only 20 or fewer people working there that are under 70 years old. Just a bunch of dinosaurs that should give it up and retire. The adjuncts are the best thing that ever happened to the school, now how ass backwards is that? They actually have the energy, experience, common sense, and hustle and go attitude that a professional educator should have. They pay homage to the president like he's god or something, but the guy is full of hot air and doesn't give a hoot about the school or the students, yet he gets a new expensive building dedicated to him. These people seem to think Bristol is a world class educational institution, but its a joke. I wouldn't send my pet to go here. The only reason most people go here is because its the only comm. college in located in the area. Otherwise you drive to the cape and go to another that's just as bad. I hear the other BCC campuses are not as bad, but I doubt it. Then, they have the nerve to micromanage the learning experiences and demand the professors make the course extra challenging for no reason, because the departments all know that the professors are glorified babysitters, and they need to protect their accreditation. So to look good, we gotta fail one or two, and lets make the final nothing remotely near what they studied all semester. Let's be honest, people who go to cc's lack the money or grades to go elsewhere, but that doesn't mean you can't get a quality education at a community college. You can, just not this one. There is so much wrong and terrible about this place idk where to start. Silly bureaucracy in the administration, clueless and rude financial affair office, ridiculously large campus (this is not a good thing at a cc, its downright unnecessary, and they have the nerve to be expanding, guess who's gonna pay for that! On top of all that, the tuition is unjustifiably high! On to the extracurriculars: The food services SUCKS. Almost everything tastes like cardboard. They seem to think the food is exquisite, but these are the same dingbat unhealthy kids who eat wings, nuggets and fries out of a bag 6 days a week, The only healthy options are the salad bar, and what school doesn't have that. The food from the grill is of course disproportionately higher, for no reason, its not any healthier than the fried leftover junk they serve everyday. I asked for fruit and they pointed me to a half rotted basket of "hand fruit" basically soft moldy apples and bananas. I passed. The dairy goods are almost always expired, check the dates! The campus clubs suck. They open and fold more than the overpriced textbooks, which I'll get to later. None of the kids there join them, as many of them are not mature enough to get that no college wants an uncultured anti social weirdo who goes to school in his jammies and wipes his nose on his sleeve. Why the hell are people going to class in Cosplay? The gamers and underachieving geeks (who has ever heard of a dumb geek?) roam the cafe and make eating there obnoxious and impossible. The janitorial services must be volunteers because the whole campus is constantly filthy, just a sticky, smelly, dusty mess. The floors and bathrooms are never clean, and I mean never. People poop in the bathroom after lunch like clockwork, and you won't believe me when I say a bunch of folks don't wipe or flush. I feel like I'm in a fucking daycare. There are basically no athletics, no leisure, no play, all work, no rewards. The security are like a small nazi, always patrolling, and they abused their homeland security fund check they got from the gov, to buy a bunch of sub military shit, and overpay these weirdos. They have these really fucked up safety drills and proceed to scare the crap out of you, crawl on the floor, turn off the lights, now, now, now! Wtf!?! Is this safety or paranoia? Anything to justify that extra money in the budget, eh? They should've invested that money into the overcrowded library or the foodservice department. The wifi is completely ass, and the desktop pc's in the computer labs are mind numbingly slow, the servers are going to implode someday. There is nothing worthwhile about studying at this place. he programs of study are for people who are never gonna leave the area, and have never actually even been out of it. Where the hell can that take you? The coursework in the majors is so inflexible that its frustrating, all to discredit your degree and keep you enrolled there, god forbid you hope to transfer, much less finish! The Place is an absolute diamond hidden in the north end of Fall River. I graduated in 95 and totally loved every minute of it. Great campus, wonderful people and reasonable cost. Any community college defines what America is all about- opportunity, and this is one of the best. read more

I agree completely with the first reviewer. My grades have tanked since being here when I went in to my first two semesters being in Honors, having a 4.0, and being top 2% when I graduated. I came here because it was a good stepping stone to help me get my credit up and save up to transfer to a four year university. The ONLY good part I've experienced here is the online classes and the Deaf Studies Program. Sandra Lygren in the Deaf Studies program is extremely knowledgeable in her field and makes sure the students who graduate that major are well prepared for their future education and a career in interpreting. She is extremely busy and a very difficult grader, though - she expects A LOT and it is very fast paced. If you want to go into Deaf Studies, this is a great starting place as long as you are committed to the program. The school in general is terrible. If you withdraw from more than a certain percentage of classes (say you took two classes and withdrew from one), you are dismissed from the school and have to apply for academic probation to be readmitted. The online courses are extremely unorganized and it's easy to miss deadlines and get withdrawn by accident. The bureaucracy is awful. I find most people I've encountered to be unknowledgeable and pass me on to a person above them. You're often bounced between advisors when you're in the MassTransfer program and this leads to a lot of wasted time not being told which classes you need or what to do to plan for your future. It's a "one size fits all" advising appointment. When I explained I had plans for higher education, they were often unprepared on how to get me there. I'd say find a mentor in your field and do the leg work and research yourself or you'll fall behind. If you have a complaint with your professor, you often can't go above their head as they are given a lot of free range and I'm told it's up to them how they want to grade or teach. Basically I feel a lot of the students fall through the cracks here. read more

This is in regards to the BCC, Fall River, Ma Summer Kid's College Program. This program has continued to decline over the past several years. Although I know there is a great attempt to bring it back to what it use to be as of the Summer of 2015, it is still no where close. They are hiring teachers who are not certified to teach the courses they are, they provide little to no supplies for their teachers and they expect young students to stay focused in classes that range from 1hour 45 min. - 2 hours when they are not capable to do so. This makes it even more difficult for the teacher. Also, students are required to take sometimes classes/courses they do not even want just to be able to take the 1 they do. Again, this does not make for a happy and educational environment. Very disappointed in it all. I would tell parents to find a great summer camp instead if possible. read more
