I'm sure they are the same cats that take their reels in for service during July and expect it back same day. Bottom line, take care of your boat and stop blaming the mechanics. After several days, I was notified that the boat was ready. The work included a tune-up and fuel filter replacement, and the total bill was nearly $900, with the majority of the cost attributed to labor. Unfortunately, after returning to Minnesota and launching the boat, the engine exhibited the same problems it had before the service visit. The issue had not been resolved, and I ultimately suffered another breakdown on the water and had to paddle back to shore. My disappointment is not the cost alone but the fact that a nearly new 2024 Honda 75 outboard left the shop with the original problem apparently unchanged. Based on my experience, I expected a more thorough diagnosis and a repair that addressed the actual cause of the malfunction. I can only share my personal experience, but I left feeling that I paid a significant amount of money without receiving a solution to the problem I brought the boat in for.
