My classic 280SL needed new brakes, and my 20-year mechanic has moved down the peninsula, so I had to find a new place to take her. Yelp to the rescue, of course. Overall, I'm happy with the service and the professionalism of the shop. When I initially spoke with them on the phone, they were courteous and understood what they were dealing with and let me know they needed to call around to find the right parts for this almost-50-year-old vehicle. When I picked her up they were again very professional and I am very happy with the new brakes. Just a tip that would have made me feel a little better: After confirming a drop-off date, I had the car towed directly to the shop....it would have arrived around 9am. By 5pm I hadn't heard whether they received the car, or what the timeline might be, etc. so I called. Yes, they had received it....and they would be calling around to find the part and call me the next day. I didn't get a call the next day (a Friday). I called on Monday to check in and they apologized, and let me know that they were still firming up the part supplier and would call me back later that day. They did....and then gave me the time and $$ estimate and it was smooth sailing from there. A quick confirmation call that they had my baby in their possession would have really boosted my confidence in this new place where I've never been. It's a hand-holding thing. Make sure the new client feels her baby is being well-cared-for. I wouldn't hesitate to bring her back for other repairs. read more

To say that their customer service is Top-Notch, would be an Understatement! Thursday morning, I left Southern California on a trip to Santa Rosa to assist a rescue group with re-homing a dog. Suddenly, I received a message on my navigation screen telling me that I would lose complete power in 3 minutes. I exited the next off ramp, which happened to be in Berkeley, consulted my friend, Yelp, and based on recommendations, I put my faith in the community and reached out to Adam and Simon for their help. I am in the automotive industry, and unfortunately, have met many shady mechanics. I knew from the moment they happily pushed my dead car out of the middle of the road into their facility, that I was in good hands! They were professional, listened to what I had to say, and set out to diagnose the problem. I spent the rest of the day watching them working feverishly to repair my car and get me back on the road to Santa Rosa. During this time, I listened as each customer arrived to pick-up and drop off their vehicles. It was apparent that most were repeat customers. I over-heard one gentleman say, "You guys are the BEST, I refer all of my friends to your shop." The attention to detail given to each vehicle was amazing. After exhausting all avenues and attempting to pull a rabbit out of the hat, I was informed that the repair would require an additional part and would not be ready until the next day. I was impressed with their tenacity to complete the job by the end of the day. The next day, when I arrived to pick-up my car, Simon was thorough in explaining the scope of work performed and noted items that would require attention in the future. I talked in length with him about the industry, in general, and the lack of knowledgeable, trustworthy, repair facilities. This shop charged to over $600 (plus the wasted towing fees to and from)to tell me the engine was shot. Then gave no solution except (it is 35k but the engine is on backorder). I found another place that will do the job with a new engine for a 1/3rd of that price and there are many other options than the 35k engine they could have mentioned. Found this gem on yelp and couldn't be happier! I called because I was having some trouble with my car and Simon was very helpful when I called. He asked me some preliminary questions and then advised I bring my car in to get checked. Brought my car in and Simon was very helpful. He not only explained to me what was wrong with my car, he took the liberty to show me what he was talking about. He showed me my car's defective part versus a good part to ensure I was aware of what needed to be fixed. I felt very informed and admired how genuine he was. Simon told me it may take about an hour to get my car fixed, and it was done in less than an hour! Simon and his team had my car driving like it was brand new in no time. Baroo is an excellent and very enthusiastic mechanic who went over my entire car for about 25 minutes to figure out what was going on that caused the instability with the suspension. He also pointed out some other things wrong with my car and the didn't need to fixed right away, but that I should pay attention to. He was not at all pushy. Instead he was very friendly and very chatty. The work he did on my car was very labor intensive and difficult, when i went back to check up on it he himself was doing the work along with his mechanics. His jacket off and his forehead full of sweat, you could tell that he was passionate about getting everything right. His pricing is not bad at all and I wouldn't hesitate to bring my car there again for anything. His estimate did end up being about $50 more than what he quoted, but seeing how hard they worked at getting all the old rusty bushings out of my car, it didn't matter that much too me. I wish I got a quote from the Mercedes dealership, at least if I spent that much there, I would get a free loaner car and some water bottles! The service was great. I NEVER write yelp reviews but I had to for E&E because as a student with not much dough as well as being a new driver who doesn't know squat about cars I was so intimidated about going into an auto repair shop and spending a bunch of $$$ but i had to because the sunroof on my 1986 420 SEL Benz got stuck today and I cannot have the inside of my car turn into a water reservoir next time it rains! Any-who, so I call up english and european motors, and spoke with Adam who told me to come in some time today and they would fix it (for free!!!) (even though they are totally booked for appointments for the next couple weeks)... Can you believe that? Such absolute kindness. I came in about 20 minutes later and not only did the mechanic (I think his name was Ahmadi??) fix my sunroof in the blink of an eye, but he and Adam also talked to me about the options I have for having an old car and also an issue with the back left window. I was in and out in about ten minutes, and in that time (Ahmadi?) and Adam... 1. Fixed my sunroof so it would close again. 2. Assessed the sunroof dilemma. 3. Quoted me on a sunroof motor if I decide that is something I want to replace. 4. Assessed my window problem. 5. Quoted me on a window regulator. 6. Were genuinely kind and helpful, excellent service. My Nissan 370Z Nismo had notorious vapor leak issue. Took them to 2 other shops and all they did was check the OBD and reset the ECU. Obviously the engine light turned back on within 2 days. British & European is my neighbor, though they are not specialized in Japanese vehicles Harris decided to help me. After he did some research online there were some parts that had to be heavily cleaned and sealed. After storing my MBZ E320 for several years and driving it only occasionally, I finally removed it from storage to begin driving it again. Needless to say, it needed new batteries (primary and auxiliary). Additionally, the dead batteries had also caused some of the car's technology-enabled systems to signal that they were offline, or worse. I booked an appointment with E&E, and they quickly brought the car back into action, replacing the batteries and correctly identifying the root cause of a warning light. The latter saved me over $1,000 in replacement costs for a computing unit, which an unscrupulous repair shop might have wanted to sell me. I admire the speed, precision, courtesy, professionalism, and value that E&E demonstrated. I'll definitely be back whenever there is an issue, as well as for my routine maintenance. read more

I heard many great things about English European from people at work, since its so close. Took my car in, and the owner Adam was down to earth, and explained everything to me.
