From the moment I walked in to their family day open house I was tremendously impressed. The staff greeted me very friendly and I was quickly given a complete tour of the facility, culminating in seeing the pump room where the advanced water filtration system was humming (wow!). Obviously the facility is brand new, however it felt so clean and organized that it added to my peace of mind. The overall atmosphere is one of excitement as it's decorated and laid out for children to feel right at home. Kudos to the owners and staff. They really put together a beautiful facility that I'll be proud to take my boys for their swimming lessons. Who would have thought that such a beautiful facility (pool) would feel so right in a strip mall setting? If you're considering lessons for your kids, there isn't a better facility around. We did the 20 minute semi private and it was a perfect amount of time. We did 2-3 lessons per week for about a month. It has worked wonders! Eric knows not only how to teach swimming, but how to work with little kids. Out of all the $ we have ever spent on our children, I can honestly say this was the best investment we have ever made. We will continue these lessons throughout the year to keep them comfortable.

What's most concerning is that at other pools, he's confident, happy, and able to swim independently. But as soon as we come here, he becomes completely miserable. Unfortunately, we were told we still have to pay for an additional 30 days, plus a $50 registration fee--even though we no longer wish to continue. The center is in an unassuming building with ample parking in their lot. You walk in and the scent of poop water hits you -- but it's much better than at hotels. After a check in at the front desk and a short explanation of how things worked, we were ready to change for class. The front room has chairs facing big windows so guests can watch the classes and stay dry. There are cubbies for your stuff out in the open as well as a lost and found section and plenty of magazines in case you need reading material. Three changing stalls with curtains and three individual bathrooms with changing table, toilet and sink are available. Right after classes get out, these can fill fast so you may have a wait. I went in to the pool area for the Water Babies class to take photos, which they allow you to do. My sister and my niece enjoyed roughly 30 minutes of singing songs and acclimating babies to the water. They practiced moving on their stomachs as well as their backs, had some tummy time on a floating mat, and practiced cues for swimming and gripping the walls. It was really cute to watch, but more than that, I could tell the instructor loves what she does and knows her stuff when it comes to babies in the water. I caught glimpses of other classes -- toddlers to maybe 6 year olds or so -- and the instructors were kind and knowledgeable and the kids were having fun. I'd give this place 4 stars on a first impression, but wouldn't be surprised if they move up to 5 in the coming weeks as I get to know them more. :)

The showers, which sit adjacent to the pool and are used to rinse off after the lesson, are also nice and warm. We haven't had lessons at this particular Goldfish yet (we go to a different one), but we've been here for a play date and had a wonderful time. Each room has a bench in it and a hook on the wall. It is nice to be able to change in a room instead of a wet locker room or bath room!! This was a big plus for me. The pool room was very warm. And the water was even warmer. The water felt like bath water, 90 degree to be exact. The whole pool was 4'2" deep. And has a bench along the side. It was nice to sit there with my 10 month old son. He liked standing there and holding onto the side of the pool. The staff was very helpful. They were fitting each child with a life jacket, if they needed it. During our swim one of the lifeguards jumped in to help a little boy who was struggling to swim. I wish they had a location closer to the Westside of Indianapolis cause I would love to take my son for swim lessons. With last night traffic it took us almost an hour and a half to get there.

And it's the same great big pool I remember from when I was a kid. The reception area looks the same as it did back when I was a kid. I was a bit disappointed to see the bottom of the pool was exposed concrete with many cracks having been repaired with white epoxy seams. There was crumbled bits of concrete on the floor of the pool that I accidentally stepped on and felt like I was walking on rocks (OUCH). The locker room was okay, somewhat maze like, and could use a face lift. I went to take a shower after my dip and it ran cold to scalding with no opportunity for adjustment in between. Such a great location and facility. With so many possibilities.

The water acclimation class was the right beginning for her to learn swimming. The instructors do a great job in dealing with kids of different age groups. They let parents be involved in the learning process so that our kids won't feel afraid. This helped to slowly build confidence in her and made her comfortable in the pool.
