We felt that the class size was small and he was truly enjoying the lesson. However, after 4 months, and after spending close to $520 he is still in Academy 1. There's been over 5 different instructors. Each time the instructor was switched, it was like we were starting over. Every 30-minute lesson is the same without spending time on skills the student actually needs to improve on. I've spoken to the deck managers and the front desk multiple times, however, would never really get an answer. Due to the lack of help and constant frustration of every swim lesson being the same for the last 4-5 months, we've decided to drop the program. We are extremely unhappy with the service and lack of communication on PSA side and will not be recommending this academy to any of our friends/family.

She has a positive but firm demeanor. She is EXTREMELY patient and kind. My daughter went from lookin like a drowning starfish to a strong, controlled swimmer. Granted she still has a way to go but considering shes only had a few lessons I am just extremely impressed with how much she's improved and I feel that's a direct statement on how Vayda teaches. If you were on the fence about trying waterworks I can definitely say that Coach Vayda made this a worthwhile endeavor and if shes still with waterworks next year I may opt to re enroll my daughter for more lessons. Ms. Sarah is kind, patient, engaging, and really understands how to work with young children. Every lesson is fun, intentional, and structured - with feedback and a recap towards the end of class. After one class I feel our son learned a whole lot. Already looking into signing him up for his next set of lessons. This is a beautiful facility and loved watching our son learn and interact with the instructor. I was worried that our son would not pick up a whole lot since there was so many kids, however the instructors split up the class and spent a good amount of time with each kid. Great program that West Covina offers. I would highly recommend to anyone that is considering. Prior to this swim class I signed our son up elsewhere, and our son did not learn anything and the instructor at the time had zero patience and had terrible social skills. Tips: just try ur best not to reschedule your class time to avoid confusion and misunderstanding of the policy I was glad finding an indoor swimming class, esp since Im a LA FITNESS member. I dont mind the high price too, even thou its almost as expensive my kids' private figure skating/ ice hockey lesson. What i do mind was the frustration from the scheduling system. I purchased 4 lessons package and scheduled my 3 kids lesson back in May. The extra 1 lesson was converted to make up class because I canceled 1 future lesson. A month later i saw the make up lesson was gone, and i was reading the "help" section that I need to pay another class so that the make up credit will be available. In which i did (so now i have 1 make up lesson and 1 paid lesson) I have 3 kids and i want them to have an equal chances to any activity, so i ended up paying 3 extra lessons and scheduled them back to back (at this point i have 1 make up lesson and 4 paid lessons). Next morning, i found out one of the class was cancelled, and i called the customer service. Thankfully she was helpful and she helped me in scheduling my kids lesson around. I wanted to use all of my lessons (paid or make up) so i wont need to worry about this complicated things anymore and will move forward finding other company. When i checked my online account, i noticed some of the classes were marked as make up lesson, and missing one class. I called again, and another rep saying i still have one paid lesson and that make up lesson is way of the company give it for free. How could it be for free when money already taken out from my account? Oh my GOSH. So frustrating! The reason i purchased 4 extra single lessons so that I can save time taking all of them together at the same time frame. Felt that I have to either let one class gone, or purchased more so i can scheduled all of them together again. Its your take, either you want to take in my review or not, but as a single mom with three kids and 2 jobs, dude, i work hard for my money (like anyone else) and for time off work to take them to activities, so I dont appreciate this back and forth confusion and complications. Another cons, as a first timer, we didnt know what to expect and noone greeted us when we arrived. I told my kids to go in 5 min prior to stretch in the water, on the side, so they wouldn't bother others, and that was not allowed. So for more than $29 lesson per 20 min, child should jumped in on the first minute, lesson, and out on the 20th min. The instructors Muna and Christian were good. I appreciate they let me know where my kids were in their skills.

My 4 1/2 year old went from scared to have water on her face or jump in on day one to full face in the water, arms scooping and legs kicking by week 4. I rarely leave negative reviews, but the sheer lack of professionalism and the blatant double…read morestandards at this swim school have forced my hand. 1) Hypocritical Cancellation Policy: They enforce a strict rule where students must request a sick day at least 24 hours in advance, or the class is completely forfeited. However, the school thinks it's perfectly acceptable to text you 2 hours before class to cancel on you without any advanced notice. The respect for time only goes one way here. 2) Constant, Questionable Cancellations: We have two kids enrolled with two different unfixed coaches. Yet, we have had classes canceled multiple times with the generic excuse that the "coach is sick." It is statistically impossible for two different coaches to be sick at the same exact time 4x in a row. On one occasion, we drove all the way there and showed up on time, only for the front desk to bluntly tell us, "We need to cancel your class today," with zero explanation. When we confronted the administration, they finally admitted they were just understaffed and they didn't update that on the system. So for the same time-slot, they only have one coach available for my 2 kids. Mind you, I paid 2 different packages for my 2 kids. They won't even let you share a package between siblings. 3) A Nightmare for Working Parents: so far, they have done nothing to fix their staffing problems, and every other week we receive yet another last-minute cancellation notice. As working parents, this constant instability completely throws off our schedules. Trying to constantly rearrange work and family logistics around their unreliability is exhausting. We paid in advance for these classes, but we can't even get them scheduled because the school is so unreliable with their staff team. To make matters worse, they have also increased their prices. For the terrible level of service and constant headaches they provide, their new rates are a complete joke. To be fair, we would only recommend this place because our coaches are nice.
