Like most people, I don't look forward to going to the dentist, but this team has made me not dread it! I especially want to thank Dr. Vu, Kristi, and Alex. Dr. Vu and dental assistant, Kristin, did an excellent job with my treatment and level of comfort. They truly went above and beyond making me feel cared for and comfortable. Alex, my hygienist, was very thorough and made sure I was comfortable as well. Also, the health care coordinator and front desk ladies are all so warm and friendly. The level of customer service at this office is outstanding! I'm so glad I found them! Definitely the best overall dental experience I've ever had. ORIGINAL: Dr. Vu is so warm and patient, and I appreciate her thoroughness. As a new patient, I'm so impressed with the office and staff!

The entire appointment lasted over three hours, which felt excessive for the procedures performed. During the visit, my son said the dentist appeared impatient and communication was minimal throughout the procedure. At one point my son requested to use the restroom multiple times but was told that if he got up they would have to start the dental work all over, which did not make sense to him and made him uncomfortable about asking again. The local anesthetic was also administered in a way that he described as quite uncomfortable, and there was little explanation about what was being done or what he should expect. When the procedure was finished, Dr. Nguyen left the exam room without providing any post-procedure instructions or checking back in. Although my son is 18, he is still a patient and deserves the same level of professional communication and respect that any adult patient would receive. Overall, this experience felt rushed, poorly communicated, and unnecessarily long. I hope the practice works on improving patient communication and professionalism, especially with young adult patients who are navigating dental care independently.

This happened to me a few years ago. So I go in for a cleaning and I'm told I need a deep cleaning…read more I do the deep cleaning to the tune of about $1200. The usual scare tactics of periodontal disease and heart attacks were used to talk me into this. While cutting part of my gums away they totally miss the fact that one of my back teeth had gone bad so they want to send me to some kind of specialist that I can't afford bc they don't do route canals. So I opt to just have it pulled. The younger female dentist pulls and pulls on the thing and then she just gives up and sends me out on the street in pain and my mouth all bloody with the bad tooth still in there. Oh well. Good luck right? Outrageous! So what I did is went to Covington and got a real dentist to pull the tooth. That guy charged me less than $150 and it came out painlessly. That guy was an experienced professional dentist. Don't be drawn in. These folks are just there to fleece you and if you actually have periodontal disease they should be sending you to a periodontist. Think it out. They'll send you to somebody bc they don't even attempt serious dentistry like a route canal but they are qualified to handle periodontal disease? Not bloody likely. SCAMMERS. Incompetent.

Water everywhere. Not enough suction. A while back I brought my motorcycle gear in. When I went to check out I placed it on the floor right up against the wall closest to the staff upfront. This was not a tripping hazard. There was PLENTY of room for people to get through. An assistant and a patient came into the area where I was standing. The female assistant then said "we need to move this out of the way" She just started grabbing my gear and placing it up on the counter. Don't grab someone else's gear. It was not in the way. A line doesn't form up against the wall. There was only two patients present ready to check out. Ask the patient if you can move their gear. There aren't any signs posted showing patients where to stand in line. How RUDE and inappropriate. I have noticed a negative dynamic in the past with some staff upfront. I noticed recently when I was leaving a new staff member made sure not to make eye contact or say goodbye and I was in her close proximity. Very unusual. I have noticed small irritations with the Dentist. One involved an irritation regarding a tongue issue. Another involved an obvious impatient gesture, because I wasn't talking and/ or moving fast enough. If you ask a patient a question then expect them to answer. This is not about being overly sensitive. This is about wanting normalcy. Time to move on.

I have been searching for a dentist in Slidell since being moved here a year ago. I tried one and…read morethey were terribly rude, but had done x-rays, but did not address my emergency. I got with Aspen in less than 2 weeks after procuring my X-rays from only 2 weeks prior. They wouldn't use them. They took a another whole set and then some. The dental hygienist came in and to this day I do not know what she looks like or her name as there was no introduction, just standing behind me and berating me for pockets I have. When I said I had previously gotten ill after my last periodontal cleaning, she said I have NEVER heard of that! I don't want to say that didn't happen, but.....I am 65, saw the same dentist in Michigan for over 35 years and she berated me like I had never gone to a dentist. My last visit prior to Slidell was a year, but unfortunately that was due to some unexpected life interuption. I did get my emergency taken care of, it did not go as smoothly as my many years with a great dentist, but the dentist here was nice. I also got the upsell for an electric toothbrush, which I have used for years and again the hygienist said I can't believe you use an electric. I also got told toothpaste, flouride treatment and so on. I was told that they would not do ANYTHING else till I had the periodontal cleaning. I also just got a statement from my insurance company that they won't pay the x-rays because they were to soon after the others. I will now be charged for that. I am to the point I think I will make my every 6 month cleanings back in Michigan. The cost of airfare and out of pocket would probably be less than Aspens quote of up charges. I rated 2 only for the dentist. The hygienist needs a dressing down, I don't care how many years she's been doing it. Rude is STILL RUDE!

Not wanting to go…read morethe whole weekend with a loose crown I called Aspen and was sent to what I gathered was a call center. I told them the situation and they scheduled me an appointment at the Slidell office the next morning. When I arrived, the receptionist said my appointment was for a consultation and would not include and dental work. That was it for me, so my advice is to find a good local dentist and avoid what I consider to be a predatory bunch of scoundrels.
