This is in response to "concerned" regarding Mr. V. This comment is completely unwarranted, ignorant and very much misinformed. You cannot speak on behalf of someone else because you were not there to witness anything. I was personally there when this took place and I can attest that this was simply a JOKE. It had nothing to do with the sexual matter you are referring to. It's very easy to screenshot parts of something and pass judgement. If you were not physically present you do not have the authority to make such accusations as they are detrimental to both students and teachers. To suggest something so vile as to what you are describing here is to blatantly do a disservice to this WONDERFUL educator. He is the epitome of a good teacher. He comes to class every day with a smile on his face and is eager to teach his students. He is my favorite teacher and I would be doing a major disservice to myself as well had I not commented. In the event a student felt personally victimized by the teacher then that student should make a comment, not someone's aunt. We are all adults here and very much of age. If a teacher tries to make us laugh to maybe make us feel better for whatever it is we are going through (let's face it, we're all human here and have our personal lives in addition to school) I don't think that's bad. I was greeted by a gentleman at the front desk immediately who inquired about which services I was looking to have done and took my payment soon after ($30 for everything). My stylist, Aalyiah, was very kind and accommodating. She did a wonderful job and was not afraid to ask her instructors when she wasn't sure about a technique; I admire those who aren't above asking for help. UNPROFESSIONAL! if i could give this place 0 stars, i would. typically, i come in every 6-8 weeks for highlights. today was the last time i'll ever ret urn here. 08/25/22, today i walked in had a 6 appt i booked earlier in the afternoon. i walk in, my name isn't reserved. this was odd to me. also, NO ONE is wearing masks except myself.... the students... teachers.... no one. there's signs indicating "MASKS MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES" just to observe they don't abide their own regulations. i ask to take mine off, old lady with wrinkles at front says "no, it must remain on" WHILE SHE ISNT WEARING A MASK! informing me such hypocrisy. next, i provide my payment & the brunette says "we do not accept AMEX" when the last 3 times they have accepted my payment, she had an absolutely nasty remark. i resulted in leaving.. i heard a teacher gossiping about a student's clothing saying she appears to look "poor" for the way she was dressed. that was TERRIBLE behavior. you don't know what someone is enduring at home and / or internally. Honestly my biggest mistake was attending this school .... I attended the cosmetology program and could not have been more disappointed. The teachers are soooo bad , very nasty and rude. There was maybe one or two that were actually knowledgeable and genuinely good teachers . Others then that they hire anybody. I had mayb 5/6 different teachers in the year that I was there . I considered dropping out a number of times. All Donna Marie and Gary care about are money. I've never met more money hungry people in my entire life. It's all a scam. If you don't closely watch your hours they screw your over and try to make you pay out of pocket. If you apply for student loans or financial aid they ask for more then what the tuition is and then try to keep the rest of the money. They don't care about your education you literally don't learn a single thing. This school is disgrace. Unsanitary. The bathrooms are constantly dirty never cleaned. The roof looks like it's falling apart. Steamers burn clients. We are suppose to be a dermalogica partnered school and literally only once has a dermalogica rep come by and to get the student code is mission impossible. I'm giving a 5 star review as a former graduate student! I had Ms Pricilla for my theory portion of Esthetics and Ms.Anna for Senior Floor. Best experience I ever had for school! Ms P thoroughly went over everything in theory which helped me retain everything for when I took my test as well as Ms Anna thoroughly showing us techniques for my 3 months of senior floor. Ms Anna was new last year and she did an amazing job showing her students everything we needed to know not only for state board but for when we go off and work for ourself or for someone. A HUGEEEEE Thank You to Ms.Anna showing me how to wax properly has now landed me a job at European Wax Center and they were really impressed with the skills I had from school. I went there with a purpose and a picture hoping they could recreate it and the teacher mr v( vinny) assured me he could again my second mistake for believing him. I used to be a student there so I thought it would be nice to stop in for a wax to help the students out.first of all they don't do waxing cause of the pandemic but they do do facials which doesn't make any sense. It seems like it's all about the money The facials and other services were extremely high priced for a school we're talking about 60 bucks a pop and higher for that I can go to a professional I believe that I was turned away for an eyebrow waxing because I wasn't spending enough money but that's not even the worst part as soon as you walk in you were bombarded by some man who looks and acts like a security guard and makes you feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. I went to brittany school for a hair lighten they keep me in foil for four hours rebleaching it everytime the bleach dryer they put more. I thought they new what they were doing the teacher kept telling them to re apply. I had no idea how my hair would turn out. It is broken dry like straw. A d it broken off to shreds. Currently a student at Brittany Beauty in levittown. warning everyone to not come as a student or client. I would like to start with saying that last monday there had been a covid breakout in the Esthetics department. No students in cosmetology were informed of this. Putting us all at risk, the school then did nothing about it until a second outbreak within the cosmetology students. The teachers, only two wear face masks properly. One loves to lower the mask to speak and the other wears just a face shield. They removed dividers between the students as well, eliminating social distancing. Other students often lower their masks and walk around like there is no issue, they are never sent home or truly ever get in trouble for this, they only get told to pull their mask up again. Gary is all about the money- he does not care for his students well being, even lets his wife roam the school maskless. I am trying to graduate in September, now that we are back on zoom (which we should have never left to begin with) we are not able to make up hours, which might force us to pay $16/hr for whatever we did not make up before our graduation date. On top of all this the school is never fully sanitized. I have come in on days to see the sinks the way they were left- and peoples belongings still at their stations. Poorly run. Thought it would be a good experience helping students learn the basics on real ppl. What a mistake! Was understanding the students would be supervised, they weren't. The "students" run around action like children first is all and A simple trim has left me with a lot more taken off with a trim and after looking at it more when I had gotten home. There was at least a 1-2 inch difference between sides! I am so upset! I had to have this fixed and am. I am review this as a client, not as a student. I have been coming here since the Lemon Tree across the street closed. So I am thinking going on 5 yrs. I enjoy the students so much, I have yet to get a "bad' haircut but with that being said I so sadly had to withdraw a star for one of the teachers who is a pain in the neck know it all. She will literally pull the scissors out of a students hands, not even say excuse me just pull away and chop chop chop not even explain or show what her idea is . I am not saying the haircut she gives isn't good it is BUT her coloring is terrible. She insist she is the best. I beg to differ as I come in with blonde hair and leave with red. I try to explain that I pick up red highlight's and the ASH makes it worse instead of better. But because she knows it all I get reddish hair. When she isn't there all is fine so now I go when she Is off. I really don't want to share her name , its unfair if I am the only one with this issue with her but I did witness her getting a bit fresh with one of the students and that girl was taking it. I later said listen, you are paying HER SALERY, I would make sure she simmers down. Go speak to her supervisor who is right there in the office on the premises and if you get no where then the own who is also there a lot. This is a fine school, aesthetically appealing and run well for all intent and purpose. They have visible people working there beside the regular school staff such as cleaner and handyman. My experience here was bitter sweet, one thing I learned is that the staff goes above and beyond to make sure your concerns are addressed (once you speak up) and try to make your experience is as pleasant as possible. Ms. Pricilla, (the daytime esthetics instructor )wears many hats inside the academy and out- including experience in the beauty field, (both cosmetology and esthetics) she offers her expertise in makeup artistry and will truly go out her way to make sure your experience here is a good one. This daytime course wouldn't be the same with out her, it is because of her that I am giving the academy 5 stars. Mrs. Olivia is the night class esthetics instructor, she offers years of experience and pops in from time to time to help with State board hands on review which I couldn't have been more thankful for! This academy may not have been able to prepare me for the outside world of esthetics due to the chaos of changes but it definitely prepared me to pass both my state boards and I can't be more happy for that! read more

If I could give zero stars I would! Never take your state board here. The women are absolutely the nastiest people ever except for one. I understand that they are supposed to be stern but they were down right rude and disrespectful. They really need to understand that we are very nervous and anxious and they did not take that into consideration. The one lady who was my proctor was very judgmental and kept singling out me and one other girl. The other girl had a hard time speaking English and Once she had a little miscommunication with her in the beginning she didn't even give her a chance to prove herself. While my exam was going on school was also in session and it was very noisy in the other room when the examiners where asked to close the door by another student they were completely ignored so we had to take our boards with loud talking and laughing in the other room which was extremely distracting. Every time I finished a section I still had time left and I would try to fix and perfect my work before she checked it and I wasn't allowed to do that. I recently graduated the cosmetology program and must say there were many aspects of this school i did not like. To begin with i don't think there was enough time focused on certain subjects, especially hair coloring and cutting which are basically what make up hairdressing. I also hated being on the senior floor, there was non stop drama from both students and staff which made my time there unbearable. I also experienced and noticed with others that when we had questions in both the classroom and senior floor the supervisor who is also an instructor would make you feel stupid which was very difficult and unpleasant to work with. This woman in particular was extremely rude to not only the students but other staff and clients as well. I would not recommend coming here unless you're up to dealing with immaturity and rude people. The only people who i felt were kind and helpful were Ms. Lauren in attendance and Ms. Sonia in financial aid. Again definitely don't recommend coming here. read more

I recently took my cosmetology practical at this location, and let's just say it was the worst experience ever. My mother is a hairdresser and a cosmetology teacher, and prepared me for the exam. I was focused, knew what I had to do, and knew how to do it with ease. The examiner was so rude with the students, and didn't give you time to set up for the procedures. She stood behind me from start to finish barely looking at the other students. Obviously, I was very nervous, so her hounding me felt extremely uncomfortable. I have talked to cosmetologists about my experience, and they all said negative things about this beauty school. Other girls in the class had the same things to say as I did, so that just confirmed I'm not the only one. They failed me for my practical and I have yet to figure out why, considering I did everything right step by step. Extremely disappointed that I failed, but even more disappointed that I didn't ask about the reputation of this facility. Apparently it's "KNOWN" to not take your cosmetology practical here.
