I've been going to Arecka since August 2024 and I honestly can't imagine trusting anyone else with my nails. She's not only incredibly skilled and detail-oriented, but also warm, professional, and consistent. My nails always come out flawless--whether it's a clean set, creative nail art, or a simple powder dip or gel polish. Writing a review because of my ridiculous experience with them today. I had a 2:00 PM appointment today and walked in right on time. As soon as I walked in, the business owner said that I'm going to have to wait 20 minutes. I said okay, and waited at the front where I was told to wait. While waiting, the owner told one of the nail techs, Marie, to give me the color wheel so that I can choose my color. She did -- even though she was with another customer and was not even going to be my nail tech. I continued to wait, and eventually the owner asked me to sit at one of the nail tables because I was blocking the door -- even though this was where I was told to wait. After another 10 minutes, the owner was done with her customer, and instead of soaking my nails or starting one of the services I requested, she told Marie she'll be back (great way to keep customers, BTW). Marie continues checking in with me all the while she has her own customer. When I asked her if she would be able to do a certain design, she told me that she wasn't doing my nails someone else was. Meanwhile, no one other than Marie checked up on me. When I realized it was 50 minutes after my scheduled appointment time, I was shocked that my nail tech was not courteous enough to check in and update me on how much longer I had to wait. I then decided to call another salon and walked out, still in disbelief at the customer service today. An hour and a half after my scheduled time the nail tech calls me and tells me she won't be able to provide service. Um??? I left 40 minutes ago, why are you calling me now? When I told her my appointment was at 2pm and brought to her attention that she is calling me 1.5 hours later, she stated she came around and I wasn't there for my appointment. 1. I was there, your boss saw me and so did one of your co-workers. 2. If there are cameras in there, do yourself a favor and check them instead of being ignorant. 3. Why are you calling me 1.5 hours after my appointment? Since the people that work here are clearly dishonest, here is a screenshot of me calling another nail salon as I was walking out (exactly 52 minutes after my appointment at Expectation's), and the nail tech at Expectation's calling me at 3:33pm (1 hour and 33 minutes after my scheduled appointment). Not sure why this salon is called "Expectation's" when you can expect nothing but bad service and lies from them. Stay away. read more

I have been in between nail salons for quite some time now. I was going to hit the town later in the night and needed a nail salon nearby that would give me a cute manicure. I found this gem tucked away in a mini plaza on Linden Blvd. I walked in and there was only one person before me getting her nails done. This was surprising, considering it was a Saturday. I later learned that the salon takes mostly appointments, which is preferable, because you don't have to spend your whole Saturday at the nail salon. I asked for a gel manicure and was immediately taken care of. The nail tech was super friendly and a good conversationalist. Utensils were clean and the service was thorough. She brought my nails back to life! While the prices are higher than most nail salons in the area, the quality of work was worth the price. I visited Expectation's Nail Spa for the first time on 5/1/18. The owner, Sheila and Sharde, the nail tech who worked on my nails and feet were so friendly and kind. The spa is neat and tidy. I was present when three other regular customers came in to get their nails done. I really like how Sheila and Sharde interacted with everyone there. Building this type of rapport is what keeps customers coming back. Sharde was patient and took her time doing my gel manicure and regular pedicure. I liked my nails. I didn't like the service too much. I sat with Shania I believe although I would've preferred the owner. I asked for a design on their Instagram page and she couldn't do it. I had to make an appointment for my nails and was upset that they couldn't do what was advertised. It should be made clear only one person in that salon can actually do those styles. She was on the phone majority of the time and was rough with sharp tools. Gave me a dirty look when I told her I'm a bit sensitive of a specific tool and to slow down around the cuticles.
