Quaint deli and market in charming downtown Dunn, NC. My friend and I went at lunchtime and they were quite busy. However, we were quickly acknowledged and were able to be seated without too much of a wait. Attentive staff. My friend has a tuna salad sandwich, I had the chicken salad sandwich, and we both had the tomato bisque soup and an iced tea. All was delicious! Cost of our lunch was very reasonable. A little diamond in Dunn. Great deli. soups, chili, sandwiches, salads. Anytime you head up or down I 95- stop in for lunch. They close 3 pm. Easy parking. Friendly crew. Met here as it was centrally located from our out of state travels and meeting a friend from a nearby town . Food was good, but the Ruben was scarce on meat and bread not toasted. This deli was an absolute delight. We arrived and had to wait about 15min due to the weekday lunch crowd but we checked on constantly to ensure we weren't forgotten. The town of Dunn, NC is in the process of renovating its downtown area (e.g. new sidewalks, repaving roads) and amongst this construct lays the restaurant/ cafe called the Broad St Deli & Market. This place is definitely worth dodging a construction cone or two to visit. Atmosphere - Typical cafe style w/ most tables set for two (thought there are several tables set for four...too). Bright oak tables and chairs liven up the rather dark flooring of the restaurant w/ nick-knacks abound to keep your interest while you wait for your meal. Food - The menu consists mostly of salads and sandwiches w/ a soup of the day disclosed upon inquiry. They sell craft beer and wine here too. My selection on this day was "The Life of Riley", which consisted of thinly sliced roast beef, homemade plum sauce, and melted Brie inside a warmed croissant. You have your choice of croissant, whole wheat bread, or marble rye for your sandwich. Based on a recommendation from the server I went w/ the croissant. Within a short time after ordering my meal arrived w/ a side of kettle chips, vinegar slaw, and a pickle. The sandwich was soft and warm w/ very tasty roast beef inside. While I think that the croissant was flavorful, I would like to try this sandwich again but on whole wheat bread to save a calorie or two. The chips were chips and the pickle a pickle. The slaw was interesting and refreshing, as it was very light tasting. Service - Friendly, prompt, and communicative Overall - I had a great experience and the food was of good quality. I would definitely stop here if in the area. Note: They do occasionally offer dinner here, as I saw a sign stating a dinner scheduled for March 13...but the place is primarily open just for lunch. This place is so cute and quaint! I stopped in for a quick lunch late afternoon (by myself) and was able to sit at their counter space. I ordered the famous homemade chicken salad and it was great! Exactly what you would expect from a southern homemade chicken salad. Primarily white meat, perfect amount of mayo, toasted almonds and sprouts to top it off. The best part was that it was served on a warm (yes it was still warm when placed in front of me) croissant! It came with a pickle slice and kettle chips, and a small side of homemade slaw. You could substitute the chips for another side also. The price is very reasonable and has a nice selection of sandwiches, wraps, salads, etc. This hidden treasure is definitely worth a try it your near the Dunn area. We met some friends at this restaurant for a quick visit. The food was great but the staff was amazing. They were very friendly and attentive. I felt safe dining here during the corona apocalypse. My friends are vegetarian and they had no problem finding something yummy to eat. They did not have a great kid selection but my girl child enjoyed a salad with ranch and a side of fruit. Once again Yelp doesn't disappoint. We were heading north on I-95 and it was about lunch time. Quick check of yelp and the deli popped up. Healthy, non-chain, local, this place ticked all our preferences. We both had the turkey wrap. It was tasty with Granny Smith apples and warm turkey. The added plus was the Market that a very nice selection of wines (caymus and ink blot) and "local" craft beer. We will definitely keep this place in mind when we travel. read more
