Within a few months of moving into the Winslow, it became obvious that the resident in the unit…read moreabove me was regularly throwing late-night parties that would go until 3:00 or 4:00 a.m. I'm not talking about people hanging out or listening to music at a reasonable volume. These were full-on ragers with bass so loud that my walls, couch, and bed would literally vibrate. Sleeping wasn't an option, and my dog would spend the night pacing around the apartment because she was terrified. Every time it happened, I emailed Brittany Cavallaro, the Senior Community Manager, and Ryan Haar, the Assistant Community Manager. I was repeatedly told they had spoken with the resident, who claimed they had no idea what I was talking about.Finally, at 4:00 a.m., I got out of bed and recorded the noise outside the unit above me. The video clearly captured a party happening inside the apartment. After talking with other residents, I learned that the person living in the unit was actually Ryan Haar--the Assistant Community Manager. After I confronted Brittany and Ryan, I was told the parties happened while he was out of town and that friends were using his apartment without his knowledge. I found that explanation hard to believe, but I was willing to move on as long as the parties stopped.They didn't. Brittany is no longer at The Winslow, and the late-night parties have started up again. This time, my recording clearly captures Ryan's voice inside the apartment.What's most frustrating is that the person responsible for helping enforce the community rules appears to have no respect for the people who actually live here. I pay nearly $3,000 a month for a studio apartment, not to live underneath what feels like a college party house. Luxury apartment prices should come with basic expectations like being able to sleep through the night. Instead, residents are left documenting noise at 4:00 a.m. just to be taken seriously. If management isn't willing to hold its own employees to the same standards as everyone else, that's something prospective renters deserve to know before signing a lease.

Exactly 30 days after moving in and becoming settled with the Winslow, management had informed me that the parking spot I was assigned and used for the past 30 days was attached to a different apartment, though I had no issue previously. Due to an administrative mistake, I was forced to relocate to a different parking spot and I felt that if I hadn't communicated my discomfort as loud as i did that I would've been moved even further from my original spot. The management resolved it as best as they could. In my opinion if it was a new resident moving in they should've defaulted to seniority instead of relocating me as I've already been here for the past 30 days. The issue should've been corrected with the new resident, not the one already living here if that is the case. Second major issue with moving into the Winslow was a requested document that in my opinion was overreaching for an apartment building to request for new tenants to sign. I had already signed my lease and was preparing to move in when I discovered a "Authorization and Release" form. In itself this document seemed harmless but the language it used was too extreme and permanent in nature. It took a few attempts to get decline this document prior to moving in, but eventually I was capable of moving in without signing it. Final issue with the Winslow to date is maintenance. Specifically service requests regarding some cabinets that were failing. Not a major issue however, for a specific cabinet it had taken 3+ service requests in order to resolve. It is now working perfectly fine but time will tell how long it holds together. There may be some build quality issues with the Winslow. I've found some flooring that is warped, indicated where the flooring meets the molding. These issues by themselves are not the worst thing in the world but together they may form a better picture of the condition of the Winslow. With time, I will circle back to this review and correct it as my experience gets better or worse. As of right now I am hoping that the experience improves with time. I'm still very upset over the parking spot, having to go from a spot with ample space to jump in and out of the car to one cramped is not a pleasant feeling. Hoping that these issues do not continue in the future and that it may still be worthy of signing another lease when this one is over.

The maintenance department is outstanding -- they respond quickly and fix issues the same day or the next, which is rare these days. They are always professional and thorough. The front office staff is genuinely attentive and friendly actually care about making your experience better. Management is also very responsive -- they listen to residents and follow through on concerns without dragging their feet and Brenna has been great. However, the best part is the community itself. The neighbors are genuinely friendly and always quick to offer help when someone posts in the internal chat. It's a young, energetic community that makes you feel welcome. Management has also been responsive when needed. The break-ins to the bike area were resolved (although a little late), and they promptly addressed the issue when one of the garage doors broke down. If you're looking for a well-managed community with excellent service, I highly recommend Simone.

I was visiting a friend with my six-month-old baby and my service dog. When we arrived, we parked in a lot clearly marked for guest and resident parking. A woman at the front desk informed my husband that we could not park there because it was not guest parking and that we either needed to park on the street or have the resident reserve a space. I went back to the front desk and pointed out that the signage did not state that. Rather than simply clarifying the policy, the employee immediately became confrontational and insisted that it was "their policy." I suggested that, if that was the policy, the signage should be made more specific so visitors would not be confused. I was also told that the vehicle could be tagged and potentially towed. What made the situation feel particularly targeted was that there were other vehicles parked in the surrounding spaces, yet my vehicle was singled out shortly after I questioned the unclear signage and suggested that it be updated. I walked away and waited for my friend to come downstairs so that she could make the required reservation and show us where we were supposed to park. Less than five minutes later, while I was still waiting, the same employee walked past me and told me that she had tagged my car and that I needed to move it or it would be towed. My friend came downstairs shortly afterward. She asked the employee for clarification, made the reservation, and we moved the car as instructed. Despite doing exactly what we were told to do, approximately 30 minutes later my friend received a notification with a photo of my vehicle stating that it was improperly parked and that she had been charged. We went downstairs to address the issue. At that point, the employee claimed she did not know what had happened, despite having personally told me that she had tagged the vehicle. She then told my friend that I had said I "would not move the car," which was completely untrue. In reality, I had walked away specifically to wait for my friend so she could make the reservation and help us determine where we were supposed to park. I was also told that the employee had contacted the tow company before my friend even came downstairs to resolve the parking issue. When I pointed out that I had never said I would refuse to move the car, the conversation became even more frustrating. Rather than addressing the discrepancy, I was told that I needed to be "respectful" and that the employee would not continue arguing with me. I have lived in multiple apartment communities, and I understand that properties have rules and parking policies. My issue is not with being asked to follow a policy. My issue is with how this situation was handled. A simple question and reasonable suggestion about unclear signage escalated into my car being tagged, a tow truck being contacted, and my friend being charged a fee -- all while we were actively trying to follow the instructions we had been given. The property itself is very nice, but the customer service experience was unacceptable. Residents and guests should be able to ask questions or raise reasonable concerns without being treated as though they are being difficult or hostile. I hope management takes this experience seriously and considers both improving the signage and addressing how these situations are handled by the front desk/leasing staff.

Top notch appliances, hardwood floors, amazing shower, really the highest living standard in downtown San Diego. The building pool is cozy and fun. Our experience has been amazing starting with the office staff, building, and the community. Janina Dean has been one of the most genuinely kind people I have met. Her and David were so kind and helpful before we even moved into the building. Janina's kindness showed from day one which was her making it possible for us to move into our new home a week before Christmas so we could celebrate with family who was coming from out of town. The entire office staff and maintenance were so kind and accommodating to assure we get in before the holidays. The kindness from the staff has continued ever since we moved into the building. Our unit is a two bedroom, 2 bath very well thought out unit with amazing views! The interior is modern but homie. The walls are thick so you don't hear your neighbors above or next to you. There is a nice modern pool with a small fitness center. The location does not get any better in San Diego. We step out to some of the best restaurants in SD with lively events on a regular basis. We actually paid to get out of another lease to get into this building and I have to admit it was worth every penny! The most important thing for us is to feel comfortable and love where we live and this building provides that and so much more! It's easy to find luxury apartments, however it's the staff that truly makes the difference here.

The parking garage that you pay extra $140 per month for on top of your rent is disgustingly dirty and smelly, access takes forever going in and out. The fireplace on the deck floor pool area has never worked, been broken since years ago, management promised it would be fixed upon my move in 2+ years ago and was never repaired. It took the building years just to purchase a 1 single new cheap cargo cart for residents to utilize, while still keeping a falling apart broken nasty cart in the lobby area. Walls are chipped throughout the entire building, carpets in all the hallways and carpet area are stained and 10+ years old never changed. Several of my neighbors had cockroach infestations and floods in there units. The building is now over 50% empty with the same units being vacant for years as everyone is moving out the first chance they get. While management keeps raising rent each year for a falling apart building with zero amenities to offer, a tiny old gym with broken equipment and no ventilation. Also the management absolutely neglects its residents and only cares about receiving there rent and nothing else. This building is the opposite of luxury, there are SO many spectacular brand new buildings in the little Italy area to live. DO NOT rent here!!

We were amazed by Stanza's amenities, interior and exterior design and friendliness in staff. We went home (to PB) and slept on it and woke up deciding that Stanza felt like our very near future home! I called Stanza on Monday and also spoke with Kris and he gave impeccable service and provided thorough answers to all my questions and concerns. Although it was a simple phone conversation, I already felt welcome to the Stanza community. Victoria also picked up my call(s) later that day as I had a few questions regarding the application process. She continued to be so patient, kind, and excited for us! Today, I had a follow-up call with Natalie (another Stanza associate) and she also provided exceptional service and friendliness. We're so incredibly thrilled to be apart of this community. We're looking forward to using all the amenities this complex has to offer, such as the beautiful rooftop pool, gym and theater spaces. We also love the layout of the studio and views from the unit. We already spotted an airplane landing, sail boats in the water and pretty sky lines. We can't wait for move-in day and we can't wait to participate in the social events that Stanza has to offer!

Maintenance tore out my bathroom flooring, left drying machines running, and moved my belongings -- then went silent. No timeline, no follow-up, no point of contact. Worst part: they entered my apartment repeatedly with no advance notice and no consent, even after I asked in writing for proper notice. The unit was left unlivable right as family was visiting. I expected basic communication and respect for my home and privacy. I got neither. Would not recommend based on how this was handled.
