It's really unfortunate what happened to America's malls. When I was growing up malls were the center of our shopping universe. Not only did we shop there but it also served as a place to meet with friends and have social interactions. Not only did we enjoy shopping the stores, but the food court was always a great resting place to get some delicious, but probably unhealthy options Fast forward 30 years and malls are no longer the weekend family outing that it used to be. No more going to shop for your Easter clothes, Christmas presents or that last minute birthday gift that you forgot. Remember getting the family Christmas photo with Santa? I used to shop for my club clothes in the mall, but we won't talk about those selections. Oak Tree! Gone are the times of having to navigate through a sea of people and still bumping into someone by mistake. I can literally count the number of people in the mall today by hand. Keep in mind this is 2:00 in the afternoon on a Saturday. Should be prime time Clearly this isn't this Mall's fault. The slow death of America's malls have been happening across the country for years. This is just another victim. I was hoping the food court was still open but even that is closed This mall only hangs on by the grace of his anchor stores. Ikea is a big one. You also have a burger place, pizza place and several stores on the outskirts. If they ever leave, the mall will be doomed Try to support local business! read more

I came here several times only for IKEA! Parking is impossible here. Got to wait for an open spot close to the mall! This IKEA is really good when it comes to security compared to the one in Brooklyn where you got security checking everyone's receipts to see if you stole anything. Since this one is in Long Island, everything is seamless when checking out. Both IKEA locations still got the same type of products. This Broadway mall also has a movie theater where you can catch a late night movie after shopping and eating so that's a plus! Movies inside a mall is a must for me! read more

Sad to say the entire food court is now closed. Redevelopment is supposedly already taking place. According to The Long Island Insider: "The site will get a massive overhaul and modern makeover into an open-air shopping and dining destination known as The District". It's so sad what this mall has become. It has changed so much since my mall rat days 20+ years ago. So many vacant spaces of stores that have closed. The movie theatre isn't here anymore either. The food court is slowly dying too. The only original food choices are Subway, and China Express. Those have been there pretty much since day 1. There are other food options available, but it's just not the same. Not much stores left either. I can see this mall closing very soon, which is quite unfortunate. read more

I like this mall. It's not a huge mall but it has everything you need for a mall. It also has an IKEA right next door which you can enter and exit from inside and outside the mall. There's a movie theater on the upper level next to the food court. There's a also a huge arcade/bowling/pool table fun zone as well as the shopping and restaurants. There's the typical Hot Topic, Spencers, Claire's, K jewelry and much more. They also have some small mom and pop stores which is always nice. There's food places and food kiosks scattered around as well. The other end of the mall is attached to Target and the other end of that is a Panera and Ramen and Seafood restaurant. Even though this place is slowly dying, I think it's fabulous and still one of my favorite malls. It has a great restaurant (Mexican restaurant) called On The Border which I highly recommend. It has wonderful stores inside the mall and has a target, and an IKEA also attached to it. Just a wonderful, cheap mall in general even though it's small. read more

The movie theater is awesome for disabled seating. And the bathrooms for disabled are pretty clean compared to other theaters.

I worked at this mall back in the early 80s. Moved to Florida but came back and visited the mall about a month ago. It's starting to look like a giant flea market. Anchor stores and any major retailer probably Will eventually flee. You know a mall is in trouble when a bowling alley are the main attraction. Other than the movie theater in the Food Court this place is a disaster There's just no upscale or even mid range options. In my opinion the future won't be good unless a major changes made but I wish them luck. When the only store I can find anything is forever 21 you know there's a problem. read more

You know all those articles from the past decade about how malls are dying? Well, this is probably the most depressing mall I've ever stepped foot in. Most of the shops are empty or closed, either due to pandemic or from the actual chains going out of business. There's a food court upstairs, which has some of the most boring options. It's right next to the movie theater, which looked completely empty. The only thing inside the mall that was somewhat fun was Round1, which is a bowling/arcade/bar type place. If you leave the mall itself, there's some restaurants and an Ikea, which are decidedly less depressing. A lot of indoor parking though. read more

It's a dying mall sadly. In it's prime, it was a great mall! They have done beautiful renovations to the center of the mall, which is great for small children with the enclosed play area in front of forever21. However shopping options are super limited. The food court is slowly picking up with decent choices with the new taco place and kong dog. The parking garage is super old, so height was not made for trucks. Pay attention to how your trunk opens because it will hit the ceiling 100% of the time if you have a truck or crv if you're not on one of the open sky floor areas. Everytime I hit it everytime i went to retrieve my wheelchair/scooter in the handicap parking there. If you want open air parking, i suggest parking around back where round1 and the police satellite station is. It's populated and patrolled, so it's a safe option. Round1 is a huge main attraction/destination there. The target there is probably one of the worst targets in long island, so it's not exactly a huge selling point. I don't recommend ever doing a pick up order, there are always problems with that location. But Ikea is the main draw to that mall, so i don't mind traveling there just to go to ikea. It's all in one, with their marketplace shopping, home goods, cafeteria and more. read more

People hit on me a lot at this Mall. Lots of cheesy lines. I call them "Broadway Come-ons." Pretty hefty mall on Long Island not too far from Queens that can be a real pain to get in and out of like a lot of things in this area. I think it could have been designed better with the parking and with the entrances and whatnot. I think they're working on it. I don't think it's a fixable problem. It's a lot busier than a lot of malls around the country - probably because malls are largely being phased out of a lot of suburban anglicized areas but Long Island has a lot of diversity and that tends to lead to more mall usage. Certainly it is a very diverse mall with all kinds of people from all kinds of backgrounds inside which is great. My favourite thing about the Mall by far as that they have a Kung Fu Tea in here. It's a good one as well with good products and they're very friendly. read more

As unfortunate as it is this mall is sadly dying all the greatest stores are now closed and are abanded, and theres not much to do either but to hangout at the mall with friends and family however has gotten very empty and not that many people. The only big buisnesses here at the mall is Ikea, Target, Round 1, and the movies. I made alot of great memories at this mall and i heard it was being planned to be remodeled and the mall has been boughten so hopefully turns out to be great but other than that wish this mall kept standing because it was a great place. read more

Not the largest mall but they do have a great selection of stores (Ikea, Target, Macy's, etc) and have evolved over time by now adding a Round 1 entertainment center. They have a good food court and a Panera and other restaurants next to the mall. Parking lot is huge and easy to get around. The only crowded lot is the one next to Ikea. Mall is clean and well maintained and never too crowded. They also have several areas where you could sit down and take a break. read more

Wow! What a improvement from when I was a child. I came here to pick up some gift and it turns out I would receive the surprise. The mall use to feel small, that and it seemed like there was nothing to do. But my visit today proved otherwise. Sure I've been here to see a movie or two, but never as a shopper, that is until today. The building itself is incredible to look at. Hanging chandeliers and glass ceilings are all around. They even redid most of the shops, they reflex today's youth styles and are pretty packed for the holidays. It is nice to see so much food traffic in this beautiful mall. Shopping was made fun by free samples being handed out and people overwhelmed about the holidays. I am one who appreciates change, when it's necessary and for Broadway Mall, I mean "Broadway Commons" it was long overdue. I plan to keep shopping as well. Still have a lot of gift to get. read more

I have not been to the Broadway mall in over 20 years. I have to say it is quit a bit smaller than i remember it being. There are a couple of big chain stores Target, Macys, Ikea. Did not seem to be more than 30-40 other stores and mostly clothing. Mall was clean, but i was not impressed with the stores in it. Other than Ikea i properly would not go back again. read more

Formerly Mid-Island Plaza. This mall is just okay. It's relatively small compared to the renowned Roosevelt Field or even Queens Center. They have a limited selection of brand name retailers. On the bright side is that this mall does not get overly crowded unless it's the holiday season. read more

I did not know that this mall existed until I decided to go to Ikea a while ago. Going there is so easy coming from Queens- just take the LIE going east and your exit is 41S Hicksville, approximately 16 minutes away. This mall is not as big as Roosevelt Field Mall (exit 38 on LIE) and that is why I love this mall. It's NEVER crowded and that's what I love. I was actually hesitant about sharing my opinion about this place simply because I don't want anyone coming there but me. However, the place needs some love spread. Let's see,.. not a lot of big name stores but it's more enjoyable than Queens Center-It's much quieter. The mall has two floors- the upstairs is really where the food court is and the entrance to the movie theater; downstairs, you'll find Ikea, H&M, Charlotte Rousse, a bookstore, Aeropostale, American Eagle Outfitters, Limited for kids, Old Navy, Victoria's Secret, GAP, Target, Ruby Tuesday, Pay Less, Express, NY & Co., Starbucks and other stores. The food court doesn't have a lot of selection but they do have this AWESOME Chinese stand. Their food is amazing and the best part is that it's affordable. They have this 3 bowl special for I think only $5.99 where you can choose either lo mein or rice as your main dish but also get to pick three different sides to go along with your lo mein/ rice. My boyfriend and I would sometimes drive all the way to Long Island just to eat there. I love this mall because it has Ikea (my favorite store ever) and it's NEVER crowded. I love this place as it is NEVER crowded - no matter what the season you can almost always waltz right in there and get your shopping done. Maybe the merchants there aren't too thrilled with that, but I sure am as I HATE crowds and avoid Roosevelt Field mall like the plague. Jen and I went to the food court at the mall. It looks like new mall owners . The name of the mall keeps changing. I went to the sushi booth and was pleasantly surprised. A very large menu of display photos posted. I ordered a Michigan roll, more for the photo than the name. It was a home run. That gets 4 stars- We then headed for a specialty sock store.No purchase here. I needed many pairs of green socks. to give as gifts. They had very few and the few they had were bundled with other socks. Can you give me only and all the green. Answer No! Next into Macy's With no Christmas spirit the sales girl rang up my purchase of a very expensive men's fragrance. No added samples or Christmas bag to put me into a shopping mood. They get 1 star solely based on the fact that they didn't open till noon on a Sunday. I came here to purchase a gift card before a party and they were not open. It kind of amazes me that a store like Macy's wouldn't be open till noon on a Sunday especially considering the rest of the mall was open. I checked their websites for other locations and they all seem to open earlier. Pretty beat if you ask me. Im probably the most girly girl who hate shopping in a mall. I rather order EVERYTHING online. However, when I do need to make an emergency mall appearance. I always choose Broadway. Compare to Roosevelt Field, Broadway is way smaller and that what I love, you in and out in a matter of Minutes, but that's not all. When I do shop online and that item is not in stock. It always tell you what location has the item and once again out of a few malls Broadway Mall always has the item. It's just not shopping at Macy's or Express, I know what I'm getting from here they don't have it at the other Macy's or Express Ect. I sometimes feel like it's one of a kind. I use to love the movies here but now it's just a lot of school and college kids so sometimes I actually drive out to another theater. I'm not a fan of the food court so I would comment on that. However, I'm a fan of the Panera and Noodles and Co. Parking is always available definitely not where the Panera entrance is but that's expected. Target is another reason why I shop here. And , How could I forgot The Long Island Blood Drives which are always being held here which makes life easy. Right next to the IKEA Wing. Which is another reason why this Mall rocks. read more

I am a mania for Panera. It has fresh foods with reasonable prices and especially, I love Americano coffee and soups. Above all, Hicksville Panera employees are very friendly and among them, Kiersten and John Kim are the best. They always welcome me with smiles and they do their best to satisfy my needs. Great family friendly mall plenty of different foods ... restaurants are always accommodating. They even sanitized my son bottle when it hit the floor. Clean bathrooms and comfortable, clean and stocked family bathroom for diaper changes. I love victorias nail and hair salon. Always relaxes me after a long day at work and taking care of little ones. I have lived nearby for about 15 years the mall is only improving with age. Only suggestions add more baby / kid play areas ... the one upstairs is very crowded and gets dirty easily. My one year old has gotten knocked down a couple of times. Otherwise keep up the great work. Like the mini train... my little guy loved it. read more

Small, dingy mall. The food court was dirty with plastic bags on tables, crumbs, and flies flying around. It looks like they haven't remodeled this mall since the 80s. The only good thing was Charley's philly cheese steak, but even that was pretty average. The cashier / cook was nice but if I lived in the area, I wouldn't go back. Maaaaaalllll reviewwwww, woot wooooot. The BM used to be a huge pile of....BM. But as the years have gone on, they've figured out how to make this mall work. Ikea, Target, BWW and a movie theater are all there with the typical mall stores clogging up the middle. Those stores range from low-med brow as there is a Lids, Spensors, Express, H&M but also a dollar store and some weird t-shirt shops. The crowd is usually OK to deal with. Annoying teenagers sure, but it's a mall, what do you expect. The best part is by far the smell of Auntie Anne's. You can catch a whiff of those buttery dough knots from 100 yds away. Come here if you need to hit up a specific store. To come to peruse randomly would simply be silly. read more

The Broadway Mall is slowly but surely improving as the years go by. They have the basics of what you'd need in a mall. Last minute shopping? Go for it. Unlike Roosevelt Field, this place isn't as crowded which can be especially nice during the holiday's (or the crazy days like Black Friday). I like to come here when I know what I'm shopping for and looking for a quick getaway. No long lines for me! Has the big players like: IKEA, Target, Macy's, etc. And some of your other fav's like: Forever 21, A&E, Express... the usual. 1 word to describe this mall is MEH. The only thing that's good about this place is that it's really close by work and has a decent selection of eateries, so it's good for lunch. Broadway is a really TINY mall, there are very few stores here, and a poor selection of items at the stores that they do have. I do tend to like obscure and hard to find things, so I might be a little biased. The good thing is that it's almost never really crowded, but who would really want to come here, when Roosevelt Field is only 10 minutes away? Case in point: Express went out of business at this mall! read more

What happened? I was here maybe 2 months ago and I came here today with family and it looks like crap. They swapped the bathrooms and now you wait to use the men's room because there are 2 "stalls". Nothing like it used to be where your 7 yr olds can just go in and not have to wait. My kids said the bathroom is "disgusting". The play area shrunk. More food places closed. The ceiling tiles are missing. They'll eventually get this all fixed up only to not keep it clean then the stores will raise prices and the options to shop at will lessen. Probably why I prefer Roosevelt Field. Florida's malls are way better then we have. read more

Its a mall but not a very good one. It does not have any of the finer stores and the Macys is very worn down and limited in what they carry compared to all other Macys. It is a low end mall and most of the people who go are because they are going to Target, Ikea or the movie theatre (myself included). If you want to go to shop take the trip to Roosevelt Field. read more

Just a bit of useless trivia for you ;) I don't know why someone would give this mall a bad rating (other than the blah food court). Here's my list of pros: -Never busy -Nice, clean movie theater ($6 Tuesdays!) -HUGE Forever 21 (IMO bigger & better than Roosevelt Fields) -Bright, clean & organized Target -All the mall staples; H&M, Express, NY&CO, Old Navy, etc. -Tons of parking The only con would be the food court but considering all the awesome restaurants right outside the mall (Boulder Creek, On the Border, Boston Market, Johnny Rockets & Panera Bread) who cares about the food court issue. read more
