My husband and I hired Broadway Florist for our wedding because it had been suggested to us from our photographer. Paul, the owner of Broadway Florist had been featured in quite a few Newport Wedding magazines so I thought I was really hitting the jackpot with this one. Total, we spent about $1300 and received only half of what we paid. To start, my initial meeting with him was alright, but he made me feel like I knew nothing about flowers (which I do not, but I had a vision of what I wanted) and I ended up changing my mind about what I had always dreamed about for my wedding to fit his vision. On the wedding day, my flower girls had no petals to throw, my bouquet was all wrong and smaller than I had been told it would be, the centerpieces were small and the arch was almost bare. I ended up having to take roses out of my own bouquet and other bouquets to put in my flower girls baskets. When I emailed Paul to let him know I was unsatisfied, all he replied back was, 'What do you want me to do about it?" Horrible. Stay away. Not worth the hassle. read more

Paul is absolutely amazing. From the first time that we met, he somehow knew exactly what my vision was, and from that day forward he put it to life- and it was truly incredible. My wedding was STUNNING. It was the most beautiful wedding I have ever been to in my whole life (and I have been to quite a few...)! The flowers, the colors, the bouquets, the center pieces, the vases, the linens, the up lightening and lanterns- everything was absolutely perfect!! And it all flowed together perfectly- not one single thing stuck out or was the focal point, but rather it was all perfectly cohesive and created such a timeless, romantic mood and setting. Paul is a genius. The way he put everything together- the flowers that he chose, the nuances of colors that he paired together- it was gorgeous, like right out of a magazine. It was like looking at my Pinterest boards only a hundred times better. And every single person at my wedding told me how beautiful it was. I have had so many people telling me that my wedding was truly the most beautiful wedding they've ever been to. And it really was! Paul, I can't tell you how incredibly grateful I am that I found you and that I had the pleasure of working with you to style my wedding. I am so lucky that I had you to put it all together. My mother recently passed and my Dad, sister, and I went to Broadway Florist to inquire about a wreath for the urn. I came equipped with a picture and the idea that they probably couldn't do exactly that, but it could help guide them. The elderly lady behind the counter was abrupt, rude, and treated us as if we couldn't afford what we wanted. When we asked for purple and red flowers, she told us it was almost impossible to get those flowers this time of year (spring!). Needless to say, we walked out and got amazing service elsewhere. read more

I give one star because I can't give zero. What was ordered and what was delivered are on opposite ends of the spectrum. I wouldn't give the flowers I received to someone I dislike. The roses I received were poor in quality and color and the accent flowers left the bouquet looking mismatched and sparse. To top it off when my father returned them he could overhear the employees speaking rudely about the return. I was given replacement roses with no baby's breath or accent flowers to speak of. read more

Worst florist ever. This proprietor took my money and then provided something completely and utterly different -- and less -- than what he promised. By way of only one example... We ordered and were promised large arrangements of sunflowers in gavanized metal buckets for a rehearsal dinner. Instead, received absolutely tiny arrangements of exotic flowers in small ball jars. His response to our complaint was completely unapologetic and flippant. If I could give Broadway Florist negative stars I would. Use this florist at your own risk. read more

Really not happy with the flowers for my wedding. I felt like Paul shot down my vision of the flowers and went with his own. I agreed on some things but when the bouquets came I absolutely hated mine it wasn't even what he told me I would be getting. I also paid for 4 bridesmaid bouquets and only received 3. I've emailed him twice and gotten no response. I wouldn't recommend to anyone. read more

My husband sent me a rather pricey arrangement from Broadway Florist and it looked as if an amateur had created the arrangement. I called to let them know that I was disappointed with the flowers. The woman I spoke with could not have been more unfriendly. She did offer for me to bring them in and she would fix it but was very hostile about it. I walked in to buy my wife flowers on my way home from work (I was still wearing my uniform). They were extremely polite and helpful! When I tried to pay for the flowers, they refused to take my money and instead thanked me for my service. I have returned to this florist three times and every time they are fantastic and their flowers are absolutely beautiful! Their prices are also great. read more

My husband ordered an arrangement with my favorite flowers to be in our room when when we check in into our Inn in Newport on May, 23, 2015 as a surprise to me. We were surprised by a smell of dead flowers when we walked into the room. The arrangement was designed beautifully. Unfortunately, the lilacs were about 1/3 brown and the peonies were dry and shriveled. The next day all lilacs were brown. I took photos of the bouquet as a proof and we left a message for the florist. Never heard back from them. read more

Paul absolutely blew me away! Everyone commented on how great the flowers were at my wedding 5-24-14! Everything we discussed he listened to and made it reality! My bouquet was gorgeous and all ivory and my bridesmaids were shades of light pink flowers. I would recommend Paul to everyone and anyone! Paul of Broadway Florist did an amazing job on our wedding flowers and for a very reasonable price compared to the other quotes we received. He was so wonderful to work with and fully grasped our vision of elegance and simplicity. The flowers turned out incredible and were exactly what we had envisioned. My bouquet was a lot larger than I had thought it would be and was absolutely stunning. The centerpieces were gorgeous and everyone kept commenting on them. Hydrangeas are my favorite flowers and I wanted them cascading down my wedding cake and Paul was able to execute that to perfection. I can't say enough about Paul and his amazing work. He is truly talented and so great to work with. I highly recommend him and he is willing to work with any budget and will deliver a beautiful final product. This Florist did not execute ANY of my requests that I clearly asked and paid for. I had ordered a $150 bouquet to be delivered to my sister's weekend wedding rehearsal. I explicitly asked for a white and green arrangement (of mainly lilies and eucalyptus) and got nothing remotely like it in return. The flower arrangement was multicolored (it had bright colors such as hot pink and purple. I explicitly asked for NO other colors besides WHITE and GREEN. I wanted it to be classy and calming, but instead I had gotten a tacky and tasteless arrangement. I was shocked to see that the florist failed to remove the lily pollen, especially when I had informed him that it would be placed in the bridal room that has light colored garments i.e. the wedding dress!! Above all, the bouquet completely wilted after 2 days. I wish I can upload a picture that I took of the ghastly flowers. I will never use Broadway Florist again. read more

Will not use Broadway Florist again and do not recommend to anyone. First of all, they are incredibly hard to get a hold of, awful customer service. I was constantly having to reach out to them regarding putting a contract together for my wedding, went back and forth multiple times. Didn't actually get an estimate until a month before my wedding. They would ask repetitive questions, gave me an estimate quote range based off of what we discussed in the initial meeting and somehow the actual price he gave me was higher than the range and I had changed nothing from we discussed, so the balance should have been within the range he gave me. The flowers came out very different from what we discussed. I specially asked for mostly white and only a little blush within the arrangements. All of the arrangements came out to look mostly pink and many had red vines sticking out, which I specially said nothing else besides roses and some hydrangeas. Awful customer service, very unhappy with the way the flowers came out. Especially given the price, completely NOT worth it. Do not recommend them at all. read more
