When I've asked management why so few registers are open, the responses have ranged from "the thingy isn't working" to "we're understaffed." They've been using the understaffing excuse for literally the past ten years, yet nothing ever changes. The manager is extremely unpleasant and unnecessarily rude. No pleasantries whatsoever so ever. Just barks excuses while she walks away. Be very careful with the produce. I've repeatedly found moldy fruits and vegetables on the shelves, and it's worth checking expiration dates on other items as well. The restrooms are also in poor condition, and the floors throughout the store are consistently dirty. The district manager should be ashamed. They obviously care more about cutting corners than the community that supports this business. There are much better grocery stores elsewhere. Will continue to update this review each time I have a negative experience with more details. Do better Safeway.

Instead of walking over to help me or even checking if they were still in stock, he simply pointed in the general direction where they should be and walked away. Eventually, I found what I believed were the shrimp from the ad, but they weren't labeled in the freezer section. To make matters more confusing, the online ad clearly advertised them as colossal shrimp, but the bag I picked up didn't actually say "colossal shrimp" anywhere on the packaging. Because of that, I wasn't confident I had the correct product. Then came checkout. There was only one register open, so the line had grown pretty long. Another cashier opened a register and called for the next customer in line to come over. Before those of us who had been waiting could move, a customer from farther back in line rushed over and cut in front of everyone. It was frustrating because the cashier saw what happened but didn't correct it. After finishing that customer's transaction, he apologized to those of us who had been waiting, which I was nice but I felt the situation should have been addressed before the customer was checked out. Before paying, I showed the cashier the online ad to make sure I had picked up the correct shrimp since nothing was labeled. And then he kinda had a slight attitude that I inquired about it as well. I felt like I would never inquired about it if it was properly labeled in the aisle. I also briefly thought the shrimp had rung up for about $37 per bag, but it turned out I had misread the screen the total was for two bags, so the sale price was correct. What should have been a quick trip to pick up two bags of shrimp turned into a frustrating experience. Between the lack of assistance from the employee, the confusion over the product labeling, and the way the checkout line was handled, the visit just wasn't enjoyable. I don't visit this location often, and experiences like this make me hesitant to return.

Here's what's happening with me and taquerias... I grew up…read morein Southern California. A place where a good taco a decent taco and or burrito is just around every corner. The burritos have four main ingredients in Southern California. Meat, cheese, pico de gallo and guacamole. That's it! After living in Northern California for the past 5 years, I've recently come to the conclusion that I need to start to understand this rice and beans inside of my Carnitas burrito "travesty". What I've come up with is that there needs to be a balance of ingredients. Most taqueria s I've been to up here load their burritos with so much subpar rice and beans that even if their meat is tasty, there's so little of it inside the burrito that you don't even get to enjoy it. This has actually become an obsession of mine to the point that I've devised a process to judge/rate the taquerias in Northern California. 1) order a taco and test the meat and salsas. 2) if the meat has good flavors I order a burrito and hope they don't screw it up "the balance".
