Absolutely adore this Costco! Coming from the East Coast, I only have terrible experiences at Costco -- it is often overstimulating and it is always way too crowded. At this Costco, I COULD BREATHE. I could walk around the store without having to maneuver around every other person. What's cool about this location -- is that at the back towards the right, there is a large selection of wines to choose from! Go figure, Napa! Same goes with their Costco Gasoline -- every interaction was easy and dare I say, peaceful??! Thanks Costco Napa for such a wonderful experience! PS: Even in pricey Napa, you can still get a Hot Dog and a soda for $1.50 here. What a STEAL! read more

Quality/Quantity - My daughter heard amazing things about your grand opening here?!?! Burberry clothing for sale, etc?!?! Fairly basic location, I was not impressed. I expected a better wine (and beer) selection as we ARE in Napa. Did not buy anything today, so I left to go to the wineries! Ambiance - Consistent, has all the departments. Open 7 days a week, see pictures for specific member hours. Plenty of mall parking. Service - Self service. Price - Inexpensive. Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success since 1983 and since 2024 at this location. Price Club since 1976. 1993 Merger. Napa Costco is pretty average much like all the others. Maybe a better wine selection and exotic random stuff on the sales floor like a $1799 wood sauna or pinball machine by the socks. Old navy style sizes on pants hard to find anything larger than a size 36 or 38. Almost every visit I've found Staff to be generally unfriendly and unhelpful. Often times rude or too busy socializing especially where the managers congregate by the self checkout. Had a bad experience few months back with car tire guy. I Walked up in a good mood, asked about buying a battery for our 2010 mazda. He bluntly Said they didn't carry that at all and refused to help any further. Ive overheard staff sitting at food court openly age discriminate towards new hires & for the last few months food court staff are super slow give off vibes like they don't want to be there. Never have any onions or if they do it's like a SUPER HARD inconvenience for them to walk over 3 feet and grab it. Food court tables are ALWAYS dirty. Finishing out our membership usually just get gasoline or maybe some water. I cant shop there on weekends because they close early on saturday and even earlier (6pm) on Sundays read more

We always make it a point to stop by this Costco either to or from Napa Valley. Not only do they have a huge parking lot with plenty of spaces, there's also 10 Electrify America fast charging stations with availability each time we've visited. Being one of the newest Costcos in the area, the shopping carts still look pretty new. We haven't gotten a cart with a wonky wheel yet... I'm sure I just jinxed myself! Thought the Danville location has a larger wine selection, it's still fun to browse here. I usually find a selection of Bordeaux wines I don't see at other Costcos. While most inventory is consistent across all Costco warehousess, it's fun to find those hidden gems that you can't get at your usual home store. The layout is familiar with the meats and fridge sections in the back. At this location the wine and alcohol is at the back right. The food court quality is the same as you'd expect at all the other locations. I'd recommend stopping by the next time you're in Napa to check it out! read more

For those of you who haven't tumbled onto this little tidbit, Costco pricing reflects the stores pricing policy. For example, .99 means the full price. Manager specials always end in .97 Returns/clearance items - ends in .00 or .88 Manufacturers sales or discounts are marked by .*9 where the star can be any number between zero and eight. Signs with an * in the upper right hand corner means the item is about to be discontinued. However, I've checked the prices and the star does not imply a markdown. I tried to take a photo of every item that was specially marked. I ended up with 242 photos and then I drained the battery of my cell phone about 3/4 of the way through the store. Since yelp has limits on the number of photos, you can submit, I've tried to post most of the manager specials since those are most likely to have major markdowns. Historical experience suggests that managers markdowns fly off the shelves. For the ones where I knew the price before the markdown, 50% off is a reasonable guess. So if you want it, there is no point waiting. Although I was aware of the meaning of those special numbers, until I did this little exercise, I had no idea how much of the inventory was marked down. Would I buy an item just because it is specially marked? If I want it and I saw it was a manager special then yes. If it's a manufacturers sale, I would be willing to buy it if it's an item that I would normally purchase anyway. After all, it's just changing my schedule for the purchase. I make exceptions for special events like the P & G specials that run about once a year when I'm willing to stock up. Just to mention how extensive it is, I managed to find manager specials in every part of the store. And even though their electronics are all freshly stocked in preparation for the holiday season, I did find one manager's special even in the electronics department. It will be interesting to check the prices in January after the holiday rush. read more

I love this Costco Napa location. It is actually on the outskirts of the city. You get to it before Napa if coming from the Eastbay. This location is huge! I couldn't figure out where to go first. I didn't have a lot of time, so I'll have to come back to visit the entire warehouse. Thankfully, I came on a not too busy day. Upon entry, the store was bright, clean and very organized. The lady at the front welcomed me in. That was pleasant. There was aisle after aisle of visually appealing things to look at or sample. I felt like a kid in a candy store. Lol Whenever I needed help finding something, there was always an employee nearby. Oh, and the toilet paper in the bathroom was wonderful! I know that sounds funny to remark on, but it was so true! I didn't expect a soft and absorbant tissue. I am so thankful for that. I guess it's the little details that I really like. Whoever made the decision to put the 'good' toilet paper in the stalls, I say THANK YOU! If it was a mistake to put that great toilet paper in thr stalls I hope you don't get in trouble because you made my day Thank you for that experience. I look forward to coming back soon. I do not know how I became a Costco junkie. It didn't happen overnight, but it slowly marinated throughout the years. I am guilty of making fun of and writing about the wifey and her shopping addiction, and Costco has turned me into this habit. Usually, when I go "shopping" in any store, I go in and go out. I don't meander through the store, and I don't spend hours walking each aisle. It's different at Costco. I can't count the many days I would go to Costco just having two or three items on my list, and I can easily come out spending $200 to $300 each time. Now, would you consider this an addiction? No, if I can justify that the things I buy are necessities to stock up on supplies...especially if they are on sale. Now if there's an asterisk on the price placard, more often than not, I'm buying 'em. Hearing that they were opening a new warehouse store in Napa last year got me more excited compared to watching this year's NBA All Star game. I mean, I seriously drove to Napa just to shop at Costco even though I don't live there. OK, I take it back....it might be considered an addiction. Located in what appears to be a new subdivision along the Napa River on State Route 221 before downtown Napa, the area is spacious and vast. They have a gasoline station maybe less than 100 yards away, but their gas prices were on par with Richmond, Concord and South San Francisco. Vallejo Costco has still got the cheapest gas so far. Finding parking isn't a problem here since they it's literally surrounded by parking on 3 sides of the warehouse. The inside of the store is also huge. It definitely looks bigger than the other Costco locations I mentioned, but the layout is typically similar. If you're familiar with their layout, you can easily navigate the store and aisles. Since it was also brand new, it had that new car smell inside. Nah...I'm just pulling your leg, and don't quote me on that. So, the next time you're in the wine country and instead of purchasing some wines at the wineries, you might wanna get your wine here instead and may get them at a discount. This was one of 3 Costco Warehouses we stopped as we were ending our trip on the PCH and heading inland to my sister's house. It was nothing spectacular about this Costco since we have been to so many from coast to coast. However I did find it interesting that this particular location has a row of protective barriers that surround the ENTIRE entrance to the store...LOL. I haven't seen that at most locations I have visited. This is a nice warehouse nonetheless we actually bought a bag of Lesser Evil Popcorn. Eat, Drink, and Be Merry, my Friends!! read more

Totally new 157,417 sq Ft Costco Warehouse Club in Napa, California offering the usual food court, gas station, tire service center, pharmacy, optical department and hearing aids. The parking lot has a section allotted to EV cars and charging stations, plus designated parking slots for gas friendly cars. I can say this site is bright, spacious, well-lit, well-stocked with nice wide aisles of inventory waiting for new owners! Any staff member I encountered had a nice welcoming smile and was extremely helpful and patient with any questions. The pricing at Costco is always good and so it's hard to leave here disappointed. I opted to miss the first day/week hoopla but if you were there. Costco fed the loyal Costco devotees free hot dogs, rotisserie chicken and pizzas on the first day! Since I came in after lunch I didn't go by the food court but I am still sad after all these years, for the delicious Polish sausage they discontinued. Please bring the Polish sausage back! Oh, and the combo pizzas! While I am not an oenophile, a connoisseur of wine, I do enjoy my reds! I did check out the wine aisles and, as promised, it's quite a bit more expansive than other Costco locations. So go and enjoy this Costco on this point alone. I was sorry to miss the designer bags special roadshow but that's what I get for missing the first week...sigh! A secret item I really missed was a high end luxury carryon that survived for THREE WHOLE days before a savvy shopper snapped it up! Darn!!!!! Wonder if everyone was in Shock it was there until one person thought to step forward, touch it and go "...it is real? OMIGOSH it's real!!!!!! SOLD!!!!!" I really love this store. I used to go to same store in other cities i have lived and this place is fabulous. Always so clean with friendly staff. Christmas is extra fun shopping here because of all the Christmas decor they sell. Lots of Christmas trees. Lots of lights and ornaments. And plenty of gift items to choose from. Not to mrntion all the trimmings for a great Thanksgiving feast. And they have almost any food items you may need. Amazing variety of great food items. And i love the sporting goods they carry too .Just a great place to shop. read more

We love this Costco! Even though it's about a 30-minute drive from our home, we always prefer coming here over the two Costcos in Fairfield and Vacaville. The employees are consistently friendly and helpful, which really makes a difference. A special shoutout to Carrie! she's absolutely amazing! Every time I've called with product questions, she's gone above and beyond to help. Unlike other stores where managers can seem annoyed by calls, Carrie always makes me feel like a valued customer. Her kindness and professionalism truly stand out. The store itself is clean, well-organized, and easy to navigate. Nothing particularly unique about the products (since all Costcos carry similar items), but the layout and customer service make this location our top choice. This is my least favorite Costco but it is closest to me so I tend to go here the most. They are pretty disorganized. When I signed up here, I had to literally get 3 IDs because I had an expired membership. Then when I went to leave, the gas station wouldn't accept my card. I talked to people who worked there who weren't friendly or understanding of the hassle I had to experience. That aside, I have been back here on numerous occasions. The refrigerators here smell funky. Not sure if they are not getting cleaned regularly but I am sensitive and it kind of grosses me out. I will say the Optical people are nice. I prefer Novato and then Rohnert Park over Napa. read more

Three strikes and you're out! I have been here on three different occasions and each time a worse experience than the previous. Last night I was shopping I went to the self checkout line when I began to ring my items, I asked the associate if there was a way I could scan it with a gun since my items were large. She looked at me and said yes, but continue to stand there and not move and nothing else after the yes so I said, "OK. Well, where's the gun?" She rolled her eyes and walked over to me and said, and said "look I can only scan the large items and nothing else." I literally had two small items on the top of my basket. Her attitude was not friendly and she seemed like she didn't really want to be there. There was no smile there was nothing like how can I help you, nothing! This young lady needs to be retrained in Customer Service her name was Estefania. I then went to approach a manager who listened to me, but had the same attitude as Estefania I can see where she possibly got trained. Higher management needs to look at the way these people are trained, and also the managers who are supposed to set an example. I am hoping that higher management reads this. I really like shopping at the NAPA store because there's a lot of new items but I'm not gonna go there if I'm gonna be treated the way I was. These associates and managers need to be retrained in professionalism, and customer Service. So please think twice before you go into the store. read more

Late review but really though, who's giving less than a five star for Costco? Their return policies are too generous? Kidding, but seriously, nothing to complain about, everyone is courteous and kind, store is clean (Although the food court garbage bins appeared to get a little packed, but it seems to be improving), store is often busy but that's people not the store's fault, and $1.50 glizzy and pop?! Unless you're not into that, which is a you problem. Cheers to Costco finally making it's appearance in Napa, providing affordable-ish prices on bulk food, and better gas prices. read more

The self checkout lady who worked at this location yesterday is completely racist. I have never experienced hatred and simply disrespect over asking if a different card payment works at the machine. She instantly called it an EBT card than assumed my grandma couldn't afford it to use something else. What a fantastic Costco! I'm so glad it finally happened and it's here! The wine selection is insane. David was working in the wine area and he was very knowledgeable! I'm glad we were there while he was in the area. At checkout, Bryce, was just the best. So friendly and such a nice young man. I'm guessing I'll be visiting this store often. Also can't wait for the EV chargers there to open. The chargers at the outlets are difficult to use as the wait is confusing and the machines are out of order sometimes because tweakers cut the wires for recycling purposes. read more

Unhelpful staff, they constantly move products around so you can never find anything. Half the employees don't even know where to find stuff, and half the time they are too busy talking to each other to stop and offer any help. Employees break out fighting, and some of them are getting intoxicated in their vehicles before entering the building and on their lunch breaks. I'd recommend driving to the Vallejo location over shopping there. read more

My daughter and I were looking for a full-size foam mattress. All saw was a twin size on the floor so we took pictures and after we finished our shopping, an employee named Luis found that they had a full-size foam mattress available but it was still on the pallet. What was amazing was his customer service because it was after 6 o'clock which was closing time on Sunday. He still had someone get the pallet down and they got the mattress for us. Kallie was also there to help facilitate, loading it into our cart. She was very friendly and resourceful. We felt that they went above and beyond. Great job Costco.! read more

Today was an exciting day for Napa County as the new Costco opened its doors for the first time to the public. It's a vast, sparkling clean, high ceiling warehouse full of the offerings you'd expect. The staff was so polite and enthusiastic, (especially for a day that promised huge crowds!) It was also a surprise to gas up at 4:00pm on a Friday without waiting for a single car! Why is it so hard to have onions for hot dogs? Your staff just has to open a big plastic bag of pre-chopped onions to pour into plastic containers. It's the best part - I'd pay extra for them! Maybe you should just put a up a permanent sign saying "we ran out of onions" to save your staff having to keep telling people that (at 2:30pm, when you're open until 7). Alternatively, instead of putting the fried onions on the "California Crunch" sushi (which after being in contact with rice for hours in a refrigerated case, are gross and soggy and devoid of any "crunch"), save them for the hot dogs? read more

I'm a Costco fanatic & this was the first time I've had an uncomfortable and disheartening experience. My whole family comes here to get their prescriptions for their eyeglasses. This was my first time and instead of going to the Costco that's near my home. I decided to go to the one in Napa. Upon my arrival since I work out here, there was decent ratio of more employees working in the optometry section versus customers however, the person who seem to not have been working with any customers, glanced over at me and looked away until I walked up to her and then she said hi after informing her of what I'm looking for, and explaining to her and being very transparent that I'm unsure what I'm doing, she seemed very uninterested and dismissive and suggested I just go look around and pick the frames first, I had a couple questions following, but she gave a body language that made me feel uncomfortable so I went off to look at the lenses myself. I was there for quite some time going up and down trying on various classes and it wasn't until a lady who was actually working the self checkout center saw me looking confused but also a bit lost in trying various glasses on. She stepped over to me and gave me some suggestions and also helped me decide what framed looked right for my shape and also gave a suggestion from her experience wearing glasses. Her name is NICOLE and I thought she was amazing and deserves to be praised for her. Excellent customer service. after spending quite some time narrowing my search for a frame another woman who was working with a customer helping him find frames acknowledged me, which was pleasant and also helped me in making a decision and answering questions. Her name is Rachel. She should also be acknowledge for her excellent customer service and her welcoming customer service in her ability to multitask despite her counterparts not having any customers and sitting on their phone. She even went out of her way to provide me with tips in areas where I can also search I wasn't aware that you could look behind the window where the door and then she pulled out a bucket to help me deep in my search for the appropriate lenses that would fit me. Lastly, Rachel then said she would help me as soon as she finishes with her current customer that she had already spent some time with and I was totally OK with that. I didn't want to interrupt, but because she was able to juggle us both simultaneously, I really wanted to leave and acknowledgment for her. Rachel and NICOLE are awesome representations of Costco. Finally, I was then met with ANDREW who had just finished up with a customer helping her at his desk then he walked up to me and asked me if I needed assistance. I said yes he then proceeded to do what Rachel did and provide some additional options. Ultimately, he helped me I purchased the lens or the frame processed. Everything answered my questions. Transaction was smooth and I felt content, however my initial interaction with the first gal who throughout the duration of my time that I was there when I wasn't being helped and I would ask her one or two questions she was still dismissive from the beginning all the way to the end she dealt with no customers she seemed just uninterested, and my service was her was very dissatisfactory. Had it not been for the other employees I would've given a lot less stars. I frequent here often. I'm a weekly customer, and I never write a review, but this experience compelled me to not only acknowledge the awesome employees that are there ANDREW, Rachel, and Nicole, but also highlight The poor customer service Ailin provided. Maybe she had a bad day, i don't know but feeling like a burden or displaced in a place where im spending my hard earned money often seems valid to share. read more

They do not sell diesel at the gas station. When asked why, they said they wanted to make sure people moved through quickly and they were afraid semis would stop there.
