Staff is young but friendly enough. Had a neighbor tell me "if you're on a budget i wouldn't do ALL my shopping here but definitely hit the meat & deli! " its been a happy place for us since 2021. Love the location of this friendly neighborhood market. Plenty of parking shared with other businesses. I arrived after 8:30am, there were a few patrons and it was quiet. They offer fresh produce, pantry items, raw meat and seafood on one side of the store and the opposite side they offer deli meats, fresh salads, sandwiches made to order, hot food and a variety of togo options. The market is not that big inside but it is very clean, beautifully organized and their employees are very nice. It makes the experience just a little more enjoyable. I haven't been here before and I originally came for the wild wonder drinks, but I found myself to try their fresh sourdough bread and fresh salads. Definitely a little more expensive than your typical grocery stores around town but it is worth the visit. read more

Napa is so blessed to have this quaint, fabulous store. Best sandwiches in town. And so reasonable compared to eating at a restaurant. Hot pastrami is the bomb! Meat piled a mile high. Soo much flavor.. And you will find the best meat market in northern Calufirnia here. Right in my own backyard. And what.an incredible variety of produce. Always so fresh and so well displayed. And the staff are well trained in customer communication. They are very helpful in helping you look just for the right items, and then they explain how best to cook what you buy. What a great neighborhood market!! They pack a lot of quality and variety in their moderately sized store. Great bread and bakery selection. Good quality fruits and vegetables. First things first, she educated me on where to grab a ticket number so you're not just standing there awkwardly waiting to be assisted. I definitely take this market for granted since it is so close to home for us. It's walking distance and it's wonderful to allow locals to be able to get groceries without having to drive into town. While the prices might be a tad bit higher than your average box store, you get a great variety of items here and a lot of unique stuff. With gas prices the way they are, it's almost a wash when you consider having to drive into town to grab a handful of items. The convenience of not having to drive into town and scavenge around for parking is a major plus. It also makes you feel environmentally responsible for having to drive. The biggest draw here really is wine selection, deli, and meat departments. The lines are long at times for the deli market but it's worth the wait. read more

Most amazing local specialty market. While they have all the usual small grocery store products, BV market is known for their meat department, deli, & their wide variety of fresh produce and cheeses. They have an aisle long section of freshly packed to go items. Picture it: if I don't want to prep/cook but just heat up, this is your place! I frequent this section of the market at least twice a week. My son and I LOVE their selection if sushi delivered daily by 11am. This is the only premade sushi I'll order from; it taste like it was just rolled, not dry and hard like many other spots. I also love their ready made pizzas and wings. I try to give people a break but this really rattled me. The person working in the produce department was so unbelievably unpleasant and rude when I asked him if they had a certain item and where it would be. Maybe he was having a bad day but if that's his normal personality, someone should have a little talky talk with him. The checker on the other hand, was as nice as she could be! read more

Just moved here and the market became a welcome favorite of mine. I love the french cut pirk chops and steaks but forget the smoked fish go with smoked sausage instead! Everytime I come from LA to visit my aunt who lives nearby I have to visit this market. I come here every time I come to Napa. It's like a Bristol Farms n Gelsons market together but a small local type market. I love the bakery, breads, fruit, chocolate and all the beautiful soaps n things they sell. Love this gem of a market. I come here specifically for a certain product but couldn't help but browse every aisle. Absolutely love how they carry all local products. You can find products like Model bakery goodies. They have a great selection of cheeses and anything you would need for a last minute picnic ready to go. If I lived closer I would definitely visit more often, but I do make sure to always pick something up that I know I wouldn't be able to get anywhere else. We rented a house on Mount Veeder, which we had no idea where that was.... the owner told us about Browns Valley Market and suggested we stop on our way up..... thank goodness she did because Mount Veeder is a very winding road... And we were pretty far up.....We got a lot of snacks, drinks & breakfast stuff. Parking is plentiful, store is small but they have most everything. Growing up in Browns Valley iv been coming to BVM as long as I can remember. I used to LOVE coming here and getting pre made foods. But over the last couple of years the quality of their pre made meals has gone down hill and the prices have only skyrocketed. Today I went in and got the Salmon and Quinoa dish because it happened to be packaged day before (usually they will have it out there for sale and has been packaged 5 or 6 days prior). However today it tastes like it was packaged a week ago. The Quinoa and salmon has a sour taste to it and smells funny. I'm not a chef, but I know that this taste is not right, something is off. So disappointing since I just paid $22 for this. Stop trying to cut corners and go back to the quality it used to be years ago! read more

Not a frequent happening at BVM. She says "oh no, it is $6.59, $5.59 must ne a smaller box". She did not check, or take my word or just charge $5.99. The beer/ wine selection is good. The deli/ hot items have been hit and miss. As with other reviews the sandwiches are okay - you're probably better getting them somewhere else.
