Don't bring your dog here. The $20 nail trim resulted in a stressed-out dog with poorly trimmed…read morenails and a torn ACL, which will now cost several thousands worth of surgery to fix. Our experience: our dog is shy around people. Not aggressive, but avoidant. Saw a review about easily getting a nail trim 2-4:30PM and thought I'd take advantage since he hates nail trims. I've grown up with dog groomer friends, and I expected a little professionalism. When I arrived, the woman, asked "Nail Trim?" Then asked me to bring him out front of the shop. I was confused, no paperwork, no info taken, she didn't even ask my dogs name. She told us to grab his head while she quickly went to work on his back paws. She grabbed them hard and my dog resisted as he does, she tightened and struggled with him but it was over quick. I was stunned, I've never seen a nail trim happen this way. I've always known groomers to use a table with restraints to safety immobilize the dog. I looked over his nails and noticed some shavings hanging and asked her if she could clean it up. She said " that's the best I can do if he's going to struggle like that" At that point, I knew this was going nowhere and I took my dog home. About 10 min later he began limping. I pushed it aside as maybe a nail was cut short, but 2 weeks later, we realized something was very wrong, as he now was putting no weight on the leg, and now we are going for a surgery consult. Such a nightmare, can't prove a thing but I will advise anyone I know, to avoid this shop for their pets safety.

Imagine waking up to a leaking aquarium and scrambling to find a replacement--that was my morning…read more I initially stopped at Aquarium Depot and had a pretty frustrating experience. I left feeling like I was inconveniencing them just by asking about their ordering process. It honestly felt more like Aquarium De-nope! That led me to Your Reef Experience, and the difference couldn't have been more clear. From the moment I called, the owner was welcoming, patient, and genuinely helpful. He took the time to answer all of my questions and helped me place an order for an out-of-stock aquarium without making it feel like a hassle. He also kept me updated throughout the entire process, which I really appreciated. One thing he said stuck with me: 'I just want to see successful aquarists.' That mindset shows in how he runs his business. If you value knowledgeable, friendly, and customer-focused service, this is the place to go . Highly recommend.

Josh is super down-to-earth, easy to talk to, and actually takes the time to help--no pressure, no upselling, just genuine advice and great service. The fish and corals here are hands down the healthiest I've seen anywhere in the greater Sacramento area. Everything looks clean, vibrant, and really well cared for, which says a lot about how they run the shop. What really stood out to me was how open Josh was to custom requests. I had something pretty specific in mind, and he went out of his way to help make it happen, which you don't see very often. Overall, this is easily the best reef shop around. Great people, amazing livestock, and just an all-around awesome experience every time I go in.

We had a one and done very bad experience here. I would not recommend this shop to anyone…read more I had reached out to the owner to ask about grooming for our pup, I let her know our dog is a senior and requires gentle care, and was clear on what we wanted haircut wise. She said all of that was totally fine and she'd have her best groomer on it, and we booked an appointment. When I took our pup in, I didn't get to speak with the groomer, but the girl at the front desk assured me they had the notes and pics I had forwarded. I felt uneasy as the other "groomers" in the shop were all talking loud, listening to loud music, and dressed in really baggy clothes ( not smart when you're cutting dog's hair). I'm upset that the vibe didn't turn me away, I should've listened to my intuition as this place did not seem good at all. When I went to pick up our pup, her cut was AWFUL. Totally choppy, uneven, and she looked half bathed. I emailed the owner and she confirmed the groomer had been busy, so they had someone else do Twinkle's cut. This other person was new, and totally ruined Twinkle's cut, as well as mishandled her. My stomach was upside down. The owner offered me a 10% discount off the cut, and said she would give us 50% off the next cut. She promised me that it would not go poorly again. First of all, NOTHING WENT AS SHE SAID IT WOULD, and the best "customer service" she offered was 10% off the totally botched job??!! Second, why on earth would we ever trust them and subject our sweet girl to this chaos and lack of skill A SECOND TIME!!?? I said how about give us at least the 50% off this time- but really she should have refunded us fully and either properly trained that incompetent groomer or fired him. Overall, the service was terrible, and the owner was more interested in keeping her $100 than righting the wrong that was done by her and her staff. I strongly advise against taking your precious pets to this shop, from owner, to front desk to groomer, it's all bad.
