Was looking for another bagel place near my house and found Brockmeyer's on the map. I realized I had already driven by it plenty of times, but never had a chance to go in - it's such a cute building in a standalone parking lot with an interesting roundish shape. Inside is an eclectic mix of what I would think of as random decor, with lots of skeletons hanging, high-tech wall lighting that looks like a blooming honeycomb, and Wood tables and chairs. They sell some local wine that comes in long, colorful bottles that look like cats, with a full rack on the back wall. There's really no fluidity to the ambience and it's a shame because the space has so much potential The chalk food menu on the wall by the register seems to be exactly the same as the one I saw from pictures that were a couple years old online, But when I ordered a coffee, the base price on the register came up higher than it said on the menu, although I didn't say anything. I tried one of their bagel sandwiches, all of their bagels are made from a pretzel bread dough, which is interesting and add a fun dynamic to the traditional sandwich. And there are a few fun options you can choose from. I went for the ham, egg and cheese on an everything pretzel bagel, which comes with a bag of chips. It's no bargain - $47 for two breakfast sandwiches and two coffees. I also didn't love the fact that they have a sign saying " Wi-Fi is no longer free, minimum spend $10 maximum two hours" as well as another on the door that says there are no public restrooms unless you're a paying customer. They are on a random suburban street with legit no foot traffic so it kind of seems like an unfriendly vibe in some ways. The food itself was pretty good, not the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had, but I would have it again. The coffee though was really nothing special. I tried the Tres leches Frappuccino and felt like it was too watery, and so much cream with not enough coffee. I also wonder why they have a full bar? It looks like they're only open Thursday through Sunday until 2 PM so I'm not sure when the party is.? read more

Really want to love this place, so may come back. The building is cool (I believe it's the old Eskimo ski rental building), but the overall vibe and feel lacks warmth and welcome. Lots of signs saying what you can and cannot do. It lends itself to a very unfriendly vibe...starting with the chain link fence around the front entrance. It feels like a wannabe sports bar that sells breakfast food but asks clients not to use WiFi. Also...what's with all the skeletons? The food and the building are great. However... the customer service is horrible. Not a single word was said until we waited for 10 minutes hoping to get our order taken. The order was taken wrong too. They somehow confused "pepper jack" with "cheddar". They also unlawfully kicked my wife out because of her service dog. All businesses are legally required to allow service animals. I waited for another 15 minutes until my order was ready and no one said a word to me. I did not know if that was it or if I was waiting on anything else. I ended up paying $42 for two bagels, a coffee and a muffin. The food was great although not what we asked. We paid for a medium coffee and received a small container. Overall... I feel very bad for the owner of this place, the workers seem to not care at all. read more

Not trying to gatekeep one of my favorite hidden gems, so I guess I'll finally review. I've loved the Bavarian pretzels from here for all the years it's been open. In fact I recently ran out of the Brockmeyer's spicy mustard that I rely upon to make other sandwiches palatable. The local beer selection is nice as well, and it helps that they're just a half hour walk from Garfield Park. Super cute spot to come for coffee and a quick breakfast or lunch and a brew. I had ordered their pretzels a couple years back for a work event and they were so dang delicious. So when we moved nearby, I knew we had to stop in. I had the tres leches latte and a pecan sticky bun. I probably should have ordered these on separate visits because I was on sugar overload, but man were both items tasty! My hunny got a cocoa mocha latte and a build your own sandwich with their house made spicy mustard. Mmm mmm good! The spicy mustard is an absolute must try! I nearly stole his sandwich! The shop also supplies some good reading materials and so we sat and read a local paper and a book about beer. Saturday morning before noon and no cinnamon rolls. Only 2 types of bagels and my husband got the wrong bagel with his breakfast sandwich. They over microwaved both bagels and the lavender latte was mostly latte, not much flavor. The staff could care less if your there to spend your 40 bucks. We made a special trip, but will not return. As a former NJ resident, the only true NY bagels I have found in the Denver area are at Rosenbergs. HOWEVER, the pretzel bagels at Brockmyers are excellent, with nice texture and flavors. Their home-made cream cheese is good with a less dense texture, perhaps some sour cream in it, not sure. The counter person was very cheery and explained that the bagels had an outside similar to a soft Philly pretzel. And they taste great! My take-away order even had each bagel in a labeled individual bag, so the Sesame bagels were not covered with onion and other bits from the Everything bagels. My only suggestion would be to offer more flavors - just four choices that day. Great place for a bite in a Saturday morning! read more

It's been so long since I could enjoy a delicious, crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside pretzel When Baker Street announced they were having to close down, I was sincerely devastated. But then, one day, as I was driving by the old bakery location, I found out that there is hope still, hope for delicious pretzels with spicy, horseradish mustard! It's unfortunate they are not open all the time (at least not always times that work with my schedule) but I am willing to wake up extra early to come get my pretzel fix, at least in the weekends! Oh and they also serve coffee ;) Let's talk about the delicious items on their menu: #1 the pretzel accompanied by the delicious, spicy, made in house mustard. It will clear up your sinuses in a heartbeat lol just what the doctor prescribed ;) #2 bagel croissant made into a yummy sandwich with cheese and sausage patties! Another delicious item that will satisfy;) #3 coffee- delicious, hot or iced, coffee freshly made right there before your eyes! The tres leches latte was amazing; good amount of sweetness, good amount of coffee! The chai latte also a great treat if you are looking to change things a bit. What a delicious find! We're from the East coast, and have the highest bagel standards. We also haven't been here long. So glad we found Brockmeyer's. It's well worth our 20 minute drive to get a truly good bagel. I ended up with something I'd never had before--A pretzel croissant! ! Say what? A flakey pretzel? Get outta here! With scrambled eggs and cheese, of course. I was in heaven. And the mocha with oat milk was perfect too, and still hot! My main man had a bagel, egg, and sausage sandwich, and it was also delicious. Brockmeyer's has only been open for about a month according to the lady I spoke to (which I assume is the owner). It's so new that the image on Google maps hasn't updated yet. But the building has been refurbished and looks amazing on the inside! Yelp also has not updated their hours, so I called to double check that they were open before driving over. As of now, they are closed Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays. I went on a Sunday around 11am and there was plenty of parking. Walking in, I was surprised to see a kitchen full of people busy cooking and prepping food. I asked the lady what was going on over there and she said it was a commissary kitchen where these volunteers prepare food for people who are in need. So heartwarming that they are willing to share their space for the greater good. They had a variety of drinks on the menu, but I opted for a house drip coffee and a latte with almond milk. To be honest, the coffee wasn't spectacular, but this place still deserves 5 stars because the customer service and ambiance of this spot is outstanding. The staff are really nice and so welcoming. I even got a little chocolate espresso bean on top of my drink to try. Such a small, but nice touch! The pretzels looked absolutely divine (but unfortunately I have a gluten-intolerance so I can't try it) however, my friend said that he'll be back to try it and let me know how it is. It smelled and looked like the typical German pretzel--maybe the one bite will be worth the pain...I guess we'll find out next time! Went there last week, after reading a review in Westword. I ordered 3 pretzels and decided to get a mocha latte. I will say, I was not impressed with the mocha, it just really didn't have much flavor, They had a few different flavors, but I decided on the plain ones. They offer ones with mustard and also ones with American cheese. They indicated that the cheese ones were challenging to stuff with cheddar cheese, which is why they used velveta.Their pretzels were nice and large, not too salty soft, chewy, hot and Delicious. I would Definitely go back for their pretzels and hopefully they can offer some cheddar cheese, in the future, as I Love Cheddar Cheese with my Pretzels. They also offer Beer. Wow. First amazing bagel I've had since moving to Colorado 3 years ago. The homemade cream cheese was delicious. The bagel was perfectly toasty and crunchy with the right amount of everything seasoning. I came from a town where lots of New Jersey transplants ended up, so I grew up around good bagels. The bagel game is sad in Denver. The #1 place on yelp downtown doesn't even toast the bagels.......I won't say any names. Well, Brockmeyer's will not leave you with bagel blue balls by not toasting their bagels. They also have a beautiful coffee machine. I got a cappuccino, which was also delicious. I have no doubt that any other drink would be great made by this establishment. Lastly, I couldn't leave without a soft pretzel. That would have been a sin at that point. Amazing.
