Shortly after I get a bill which I ignored and subsequently was nagged by someone from billing in Massena who was outraged by my refusal to pay $27 ish . .... a very minute amount in comparison I guess. I'd liked to think she was just having a bad day I guess.

I had a very negative experience at St. Lawrence optometry…read more The St. Lawerence optometrist Dr. Chippior (whom owns both stores) saw me for a two year follow up appt.. Dr Chippior told me I was borderline requiring glasses and asked me for a two week return visit to re check my right eye. Right after the first visit and without telling me, she advised the MTO that I could not drive without corrective lenses. Dr. Chippior did not advise me of needing corrective lenses nor on my second visit two weeks later She advised me that my new prescription was such a "minimal change" that I would not notice the difference in the glasses. She never informed me that this prescription would require me to wear glasses in order to legally drive a vehicle. This lack of disclosure was both unprofessional and potentially dangerous. I will never see her again nor would I recommend her or her business.

The woman who adjusted my glasses when i picked them up was nice too. My doctor is good. They do eye health tests and followup from specialist. The bad: They do not have enough staff to meet the high volume of clientele. The staff is managing with no support and guidance from anyone it looks like. The women seem to do a little of everything there. It is strange when you see the person who performed your test is also booking your next appointment and taking your money..? They do the old school billing. They do not submit to 3rd party insurance. They dont answer the phone!!!
