I attended an event here about 2 weeks ago. The event hall/ space was beautiful. It had a fancy barn feel. The event hall was catered and beautifully decorated. My family and I had a great time. My concerns were more about getting to this place. The event was at night and it was raining that night so it made it harder to see the turns signs. We missed the entrance at least 3 times before finally making it to the location. Also, I wish the parking lot was a little bigger. I felt like the lot was a little cramped. read more

The parking is a complete show stopper unless you are having a very very small event. The overflow parking is not easy to get to as it has nothing to do with the event center and part of a shopping center. Also not easy to get from that parking to the building. Access from the street is difficult and if you pull out to over flow you can't get back to the parking lot without driving more than 1 mile out of the way. This venue is absolutely stunning and I now understand what the term "rustic eleganza" is! Brodie Homestead is perfect if you're hosting an intimate event and all the woodwork and chandeliers are jaw-dropping gorgeous. Brodie has a private parking lot which is great as we all know parking can be a pain in the ass in the city sometimes. The lush landscape makes it perfect for photo ops for any occasion. What really stood out to me was the silo-esque aesthetic of this dance hall. I kept admiring all the attention to detail. There's an extension adjacent to the dance hall which is most ideal for your food if you choose to have a buffet style. The main entrance has plenty of room to have bars and a sign-in table. If you're planning to have a more intimate wedding but want the wow factor, then Brodie Homestead is winner winner, chicken dinner. read more

We had our wedding at the Brodie Homestead and were blown away by the event! Throughout the planning process, Juliana was extremely responsive, accommodating, and helpful. We used many of the preferred vendors and were beyond impressive by the quality of service we received. The venue is beautiful without any flowers or decorations so with some additions, it was absolutely stunning! We had a high guest count and almost all our guests were flying in, so we wanted a venue that was close to downtown (where everyone would be staying) and the Brodie Homestead was perfect! We used a lot of the in house furniture and everything was exactly what we needed. All the tables and chairs were set up for us in advance and broken down at the end of the night which really helped make the day run smoothly. Since the Brodie Homestead is mostly indoors (we ended up having a bar outside as well as cocktail tables and lights to give guests an option to go outside) we didn't have to worry about a rain plan - this took a lot of stress off our planning and it ended up being a beautiful, sunny day! Overall, working with Juliana at the Brodie Homestead for our wedding made the planning a breeze and we were told by many of our guests that our venue was magnificent! My husband and I had our reception at Brodie Homestead in February and it was the easiest decision we made. It was the only venue we went to look at and we were in love from the moment we walked in. We were married in downtown Austin at St. Austin Catholic Parish. Another reason we chose this location is because we wanted a quick and easy commute to our reception for our guests along with plenty of parking. Just as others have said, you really don't have to do a lot of decorating because the venue is gorgeous. We added the lights against the back wall and uplighting. We worked with Juliana from day one and down to the week of the wedding. She was so accessible throughout the whole process and responded very quickly to all emails. She was also super helpful when it came to a floor plan and design. When I wasn't sure what to do, I asked for her opinion and she was able to elaborate on options that previous weddings had chosen. I highly recommend this venue to any couple looking to get married in a modernized barn in Austin. Our day was perfect and we received so many compliments. We held both our wedding ceremony and reception at Brodie Homestead and could not have been happier with that decision! The venue is absolutely stunning and requires very little decor to transform it into a magical and romantic space for a wedding. We live in California so we relied very heavily on communicating with Brodie Homestead via email and phone. From day one, we were incredibly impressed with their timely responsiveness, thorough answers, and professionalism. It was clear that they wanted our wedding to be just as much of a success as we did, and we really felt that we had a true partner in the planning process. Brodie Homestead was the only venue we toured, and we knew immediately that it was where we wanted to get married. The venue is the perfect juxtaposition of chic and rustic, with wood floors and a gorgeous limestone wall, and beautiful chandeliers. It was also so close to downtown, with plenty of parking, all indoors (super important for our June wedding), and the AC was fantastic! The Brodie Homestead team was communicative, and professional, and made sure we knew when our deadlines were and exactly what restrictions we had, down to little details (all very reasonable). My wife and I had our wedding here back in November. From the moment we set foot in this venue we loved it and did not look anywhere else. We put a deposit down that same day and it was pretty downhill from there. 1. You have to provide everything and if it's not on their small list of vendors then it needs to be approved. Dickys BBQ was not on the list of vendors but we were told that they have used them in the past and would be allowed. After paying Dickys and getting that all set up Brodie emailed us a few weeks later and said we can't use them. This was due to them being on a trial run with them and depending on how well they do at an upcoming wedding will depend on if they are approved etc. We had already paid Dickys...! After my crying wife called me from all the stress of them going back on their word I was able to talk Brodie into allowing Dickys. Sheesh. 2. We had a meeting set up with Brodie but they forgot all about it. My wife, our wedding coordinator, and I walked up to an empty and closed building on the day of our meeting. After finally getting ahold of Brodie we were told they completely forgot. Really? 3. During the "rescheduled" meeting we were told numerous times that Brodie is thrilled to have their first legally gay wedding at their venue and asked if they could share some of our photos on Instagram. We of course said yes yet they have not posted a single thing from our wedding. I inquired about this since I see posts every weekend of weddings. Brodie said that they do not manage their Instagram account and instead it's a PR Company that schedule the photos a few weeks in advance. Oh really? I see tons of same day posts. 4. The night of the wedding our friends and family were rushed out. We still had an hour until cleanup was even supposed to begin and we were told to wrap things up early. The venue is gorgeous and we needed very little decorations to make the wedding beautiful. The day of the wedding went perfectly except for being rushed towards the end. The management just needs to get their act together and be more organized. I feel like they only care about getting that check and not about the people paying them. When my (at the time) fiance and I picked a wedding date, we had no idea how popular October weddings are in Texas! We thought 6 months to plan a wedding was just right, but then it quickly turned into a frantic search for a venue that wasn't already taken on our date. Luckily, I found the Brodie Homestead through the Allan House. (Same owners.) At first I wasn't seriously considering it, even though the pictures of the interior were lovely. (It was a bit pricey.) However, it had so many pros that we started to really consider it. Being indoors with air-conditioning was a huge plus! And when my mother saw it and loved it too, it was a done deal. The staff was easy to talk with and I communicated mostly via e-mail. They were usually pretty quick to respond. By the time of my pre-event walk-through, I was mostly in communication with Marissa. She was fun and answered all of my questions. The Brodie Homestead will supply the chairs and tables, but that is all. Finding our own linens was only as difficult as choosing a style and color (I was torn between purples). They require a catering vendor who will provide full service, which includes clean-up at the end of the night. But we were going to find one that did so anyway. As for the rest of the vendors, Brodie gives you full freedom to choose whomever you want. It used to be an old working horse barn. The exterior still holds that old charm, but the interior is amazing. It smells of wood when you walk in, and then you see the enormous space with high ceilings and wood beams, and a stone wall at the far end. And you'll be dazzled by the huge chandeliers. It made for the best mood lighting during our reception. And they can be turned up really bright if needed. We had the room flipped from ceremony to reception, and while that happened, they had a curtain they closed that cuts the space in half. One side was cocktail hour while the other side flipped to reception. It had space for everything - the tables, buffet, DJ, cake table, gift table, cocktail tables, bar... you name it. And upstairs are two small rooms for the bride and groom to get ready in, each with their own bathroom. It was stunning once everything was in place - the flowers, tables, the lighting, etc. We couldn't have found a more perfect place to get married! read more

I attended a memorial service on a quiet Sunday afternoon here. I had never been before. In fact, the location is hidden a bit from the road behind a tall stone wall. But once inside, you find a lovely, upscale "rustic" event venue that is perfect for all types of indoor events. Amply sized, it would seen to me to be a good spot for catering companies to work in. I arrived after the attached parking lot was already full, but I had an easy walk from the adjacent shopping center parking lot (the one for Dickey's Barbecue Pit and Tarka Indian Kitchen). read more

We were very excited to tour this venue. We had had an unofficial tour and we're ready to book it. We wanted to have an official tour to be able to have a few questions answered and officially book for our wedding, however Juliana Ross (the venue manager) was beyond disrespectful to us. Any and every question we had was responded with "you can find that information on the website," or some other condescending response. I'm unsure if this had anything to do my fiancés ethnicity or just laziness on her part to answer any questions regarding the venue she manages. I can't imagine having someone who behaves that way, potentially ruining such a special day. Therefore we will not be booking this venue, which is unfortunate because the venue was beautiful. read more

I found Brodie Homestead about a year ago when it was still under construction about to be converted from a barn to a beautiful venue. I always wanted a rustic elegant wedding, but wanted my wedding to be in the city, and not too far away in Dripping Springs where there are plenty of barn wedding venues. When my husband and I found Brodie - it was everything we had been looking for. Although it was still under construction, I could tell from talking to Juliana and her vision, that it would be the perfect balance of rustic meets elegant AND it was only about a 15 minute drive from downtown. When construction was finally done about 5 months before my wedding, I was truly amazed at how beautiful the barn looked. But in all honesty, it was not until my actual wedding day that I realized how incredibly beautiful Brodie was. I had my reception at Brodie almost a month ago and it was seriously the most romantically beautiful venue ever. The ginormous chandeliers and tall, wooden gambrel roof ceilings, combined with our gold and blush color scheme, amber uplighting, and candles everywhere, created the most perfect ambience. I remember walking into Brodie that night and just being in awe of how gorgeous everything looked. And I definitely was not the only one -- throughout the night and even till this day, my guests (and people who just saw pictures through our Facebook) still compliment me on how gorgeous the venue was - esp. the chandeliers. Since the wedding, I have been told numerous times that Brodie was the most beautiful wedding venue they've ever been to. And I definitely agree. I have to admit, I was a bit worried that the location of the barn right next to a shopping strip would detract from the wedding, but it didn't at all! The inside of the barn and ambience it creates is so stunning that you truly get lost in it and forget about all the surrounding restaurants and shops. The only downside to this venue is that parking is extremely limited. We had about 220 guests and had to tell our guests to park at the Toney Burger Stadium parking lot (about 7 minutes away) and rent a shuttle bus to bring guests to Brodie. My wedding day was the most romantic, magical and perfect day for my husband, me and all our guests and I could not have imagined a more beautiful venue to have our reception at than Brodie Homestead. read more

My husband and I were married in January of 2016. The venue was gorgeous and perfect for a rustic/elegant wedding. The charm of the chandeliers and the original barn wood on the walls makes for stunning wedding venue. With that said, let me dive into my 3 star review. To start the venue is very dim after dark even with the chandeliers. Our photos turned out dim and had a lot of shadows cast across out faces, which was unfortunate. Also to note, there is not a lot of outdoor photo options at this venue. Located behind the wedding venue is a playground and a large tree which was a staple to our wedding photos as the indoor photos did not turn out as well as we would have expected. It is ideal for daytime weddings/receptions. The homestead representative showed up to the venue 30 minutes late on the day of our wedding. Be sure to get a contact number from the Brodie day-of representative. My parents were locked out of the Venue for 30 minutes not knowing if someone was on their way to unlock the venue, or if they had completely forgotten about our wedding. After calling the number associated with Brodie homestead - we only got a voicemail machine. In the defense of the homestead - they did give us a refund for time lost. The upstairs dressing rooms are small and difficult to get ready in with a larger wedding party. There are only 2 mirrors in the bridal suite - one full length and one in the bathroom. Overall it was an ok wedding and we are happy to be married :-) ALSO I failed to mention there is NOT a full kitchen at this Venue. All vendors must be on the preferred vendor list or pre approved and they must be able to bring your food with heating trays or pre heated as there is no stove - only sink and fridge. read more

Recently attended a wedding at this venue and let me warn you about a couple of things: First of all, there is not one bench or chair inside or outside of this venue. There were many elderly people as well as women in high heels with not one place to sit. There were chairs for the wedding itself but in the reception area had not one chair. I understand the place just rents the venue and I guess they expect everyone to supply their own seating but that's no excuse for having absolutely no where to sit inside or out. Do you explain that to everyone that to that rents the venue? I don't think so. You could you have put a few benches outside for people to sit on as cars are brought around for 70 and 80-year-old people. You are a sorry excuse for a venue, please call yourself what you really are- just an "old barn" and nothing else. You could have been great but instead, you choose to be a low rent venue that doesn't think about aesthetics or the comfort of guests. You will impress no one if you hold your event at this barn/venue. If you do venture out to "the barn" bring every possible amenity because these cheap basta_ds got nothing except 2 toilets and a chandelier read more

Amazing venue!! We just got married at Brodie Homestead last week, and it was a perfect wedding. The staff was amazing before and during the wedding helping in every way we needed. All our guests commented how beautiful the venue is. This venue is nice because you don't need much decoration, since the chandlers themselves are so elegant. We also loved how you don't have to worry about the weather since everything is inside. If the weather is nice, we took really nice pictures behind the venue by a tree and in a field. Allison was the manager on duty that helped us with a pre wedding meeting and she made sure to know exactly how we wanted everything and it was perfect the day of. The Brodie Homestead was the setting for my daughter's wedding on 10-10-16. It is an absolutely beautiful setting with so much history and character that not much decorating is needed. The rustic beams in the lofty ceiling and the impressive stone walls are charming in themselves, but with the huge, gorgeous chandeliers - just WOW! Rustic elegance is an understatement. We have been familiar with the stone barn for many years. As my children were growing up, anytime we were shopping in the area they always wanted to go by the big, stone barn to see the donkeys. It was a point of reference for us when giving directions in Sunset Valley (...when you go by the stone barn...). We were concerned that it would be torn down when commercial development was started on the south side of Brodie Lane. So when my daughter started looking for a wedding venue, she was so excited when she found out the big, stone barn was now an event venue. It was not the first place we looked at but as soon as she walked it and said, 'I love it!!' we didn't look any further. Her fiancé agreed and the decision was made. Enough of my personal story; now for the review. As stated, it's beautiful! It's also convenient for guests, had plenty of parking for our small event (50 guests) and our contact, Allison, was very friendly and easy to work with. Communication was always quick and easy via email. Everything was explained clearly up front and in the contract. What was and was not included, vendor rules, etc. That being said, I DO ask a lot of questions and we returned to Brodie twice before the wedding to check things out, measure, etc so we could be totally prepared. I found the preferred vendor list to be very helpful and we choose three of our vendors from there. Pok-e-jos was wonderful by the way - see separate review. We were a little disappointed there is no lawn or pretty outdoor setting on the premises, but the city park behind Brodie has a large, lovely oak tree where wedding party pictures were taken after the ceremony, right at sunset. Our guests enjoyed cocktail hour while photos were being taken and the ceremony area was being flipped for the reception. The large curtains were drawn to separate the two areas until the bride and groom were announced and the reception began. Our guests loved it and we got so many compliments on it. And now for the few cons. There was some mix-up in scheduling our pre-event meeting at Brodie but it eventually worked out. When we arrived the day of the wedding, a few of the tables and chairs were not set-up per our request but when I talked to Allison about it, she took care of it right away. These were not the main ceremony tables and chairs, but outlying ones, like the gift table, dessert table, and seating area for cocktail hour. A quick and easy fix. Although I mentioned that not much separate decorating was necessary, we did bring in lots of boxes with centerpieces and other décor that was not set out until the flip. There was no good place to put these items! We had to place them randomly in the storage room among stacked chairs. Granted if we were having more guests, most of these chairs would have been out of the way already set up for seating, but like it was, we didn't have much room to place our boxes out of sight and move around. This was our biggest glitch with Brodie, and if that's the worst of it, that's not much to complain about! Really just a recommendation for them to be more accommodating in that area. We held our Sangeet at Brodie Homestead in February 2017. The venue was absolutely stunning, and so many of our guests commented on how unique and special it was to us. Allison was a pleasure to work with and helped us by answering our questions at each part of the process (we are out of state). The venue looked great with some DIY uplighting (it helped to have some extra lighting) and the main wall needed very little extra decor in our opinion. We liked how the placement of everything worked together--the food at the back of the room made sure that people could get their food with minimal interruption to the program and locating the bar near the dance floor made it easier for people to get their drinks (but still continue partying). Allison was great making sure our outside caterer fulfilled their responsibilities, and the combination of working with her and Lauren from Austin's Elite ensured that we had all of our bases covered.
