My husband's cousin got married at the Thistlewood Manor & Gardens at the end of January. We were invited guests so we got to spend a few hours here with the other guests. The manor is about 30 minutes outside of Austin in Kyle, Texas. It's a sprawling property with outdoor gardens and small chapel and a big manor house. The wedding was held inside the manor. The wedding party came around the corner down the aisle to the arch. The bride came down the spiral staircase. We were escorted outside while pictures were taken and enjoyed some light bites along with a hot cocoa bar. They rearranged the main room by removing the seats and setting up the tables for the reception. We were treated to non-alcoholic beverages while we waited for dinner to be served. It took a while for them to turn the main space around. What was supposed to be an hour ended up being two. The facilities were clean and well stocked. Once the dining room was ready for the reception, we found our seats. They brought out cold dinner rolls with butter and salad to the tables. We had to ask for additional butter as it was a skimpy amount for our table. However, for the main courses, we had to line up table-by-table to be served. They had chicken Florentine, roast beef, mashed potatoes, and roasted broccoli. They also had vegan options for those who did not eat meat. Once served, we then sat to eat our dinner. In between, there were speeches, some dancing, and merriment. They also served cake before the couple cut their own wedding cake which we thought was weird. For the most part, everyone enjoyed the wedding. We left shortly after the cake was cut as we had to get back to Austin. We thought we would have a problem finding a Lyft but one was readily available to us. read more

Thistlewood Manor & Garden was the perfect venue! We got engaged in November of 2024 and Married at Thistlewood in November of 2025! We signed a contract on our first walk through in January 2025 and it was the best decision ever! Thistlewood has great people that ask all the right questions that we wouldn't have thought of. What made them stand out to us was how upfront and honest they were regarding costs and their packages. Not only did they offer a wide range of choices but their priority was my husband and I. Other venues we viewed were nearly three times the cost of Thistlewood but offered not even half of the services provided or nearly as beautiful. For what we paid for a full day at Thistlewood would have been a partial payment for a few hours at other non inclusive venues. They made it possible to not only plan the wedding in 10 months but to perfect it! If there was a mix up on communications they fixed it immediately. Thistlewood offered amazing options for vendors that they recommended, most notable of these was our wedding coordinator. Who, might I add, was fantastic in all communications with the venue and other vendors. The venue itself was absolutely beautiful. The food provided by their on site kitchen staff was some of the best food we have ever had. Not to mention the sheer variety of options related to food AND their attentiveness to allergies and dietary restrictions of guests. The guest loved it so much, many said they had not been to a wedding as nice as ours in a long time. Friends our age said Thistlewood set the bar for what a wedding should be and we couldn't agree more. We have not had a single negative thing said about the venue, only praise. Thistlewood is the best wedding venue for your wedding from price to the nearly all inclusive packages! read more

I will forever be grateful to Thistlewood Manor for making my graduation photoshoot one to remember. First and foremost, when I called to schedule last minute, the owner seemed just as excited as I was to be graduating with my Doctorate! Then, when picture day arrived, there were literally tornadoes in both Austin and San Antonio, and the venue and roads had flooded. Despite considering canceling my photoshoot, the owner held out and waited for the water to recede. Miraculously, the sun came out, and all the water had seemingly disappeared. The owner arrived on time to my shoot, and the show went on as planned. It was perfect! She let us have full reign to her beautiful property, and my graduation photos turned out absolutely stunning. From the black and white spiral staircase and crystal chandeliers indoors, to the fountain and gardens outdoors. It was better than I could have ever imagined. If I need a venue again in the future, I will absolutely reach back out to Thistlewood Manor. It's not often you find business owners who not only care about the success of their business, but also the experience and memories made by their customers. We had a New Years Eve wedding just last month. I can't say enough positive things about Thistelwood Manor. We had a year to plan our big day, and in working with Tricia and Leslie throughout that year, they were able to take every single vision I had and make it come to life. It was so nice having a venue that took care of food, tables/chairs, linens, AND flowers! I don't think you find that very often in the wedding world, but I am so happy we did. The gardens behind the venue are beautiful with several different options of where to have your ceremony. The ballroom with the grand staircase was perfect for our glamorous vibe. The food was good, and Tricia was very good with accommodating the vegans in the wedding party. If I could get married again, I would do it at Thistlewood Manor. We were invited here for a wedding. Absolutely stunning place. The staff was so accommodating from what I could see. Driving up the house was so gorgeous , we walked in to the back using the right entrance , waking in it's so gorgeous. The "backyard" garden was breathtaking and you can feel a peace just sitting there. It's gorgeous for pictures. The bride and groom were taking pics with their court and they all looked so gorgeous. We sat down , there's a patio area with loveseats and chairs. They had appetizers and so refreshing lemonade. When we walked inside there is a dance floor and tables set up on your left and some more on your right. I must say my absolute favorite was the staircase. They had flowers all on the railing and it smelled so fresh and looked so beautiful. The table decorations were so elegant & simple without being overbearing. The food was very delicious as well. They over-promised and under-delivered. Each meeting there was a different "intern", so wedding details got mixed up, mis-communicated or mis-interpreted. I can't say enough about this venue. It's beautiful and elegant. Exactly what I was looking for. Especially with the chandeliers and beautiful staircase. The garden area was also so so perfect. I had always planned on having my ceremony outside. With my then fiancé being in the military, wedding planning was rushed because we never know what's going to happen. Next thing I knew, my then fiancé was getting deployed so we had to postpone. Tricia, the owner, was so understanding and waiting for us to get a later date. Had a very enjoyable evening the other night at a cooking class offered by Chef Tricia of Thistlewood Manor and Gardens. I chose this class because the entree was Chicken Alfredo, one of my favorite dishes yet one I've never attempted to make. Turns out the dish is surprisingly easy to prepare and could be enjoyed as a weekday family meal at home or served at an elegant dinner party. We also made homemade pasta, side dishes and dessert. The pasta is a little time consuming, but not difficult to make - truly worth the effort if you appreciate fresh pasta. Also, many of the ingredients were fresh from Tricia's garden, including the lettuce, which was delicious! Some of the mundane task were taken care of before the class started, but keep in mind if you go, this is a hands-on class, so dress accordingly. All recipes were given to us and we worked in groups under Tricia's expert supervision to prepare the entire meal. The kitchen is a professional kitchen, with a beautiful and huge quartz counter height island where we chopped, mixed, measured, laughed and got acquainted with each other and of course, discussed food! This is certainly not the kind of kitchen most of us have at home so it was a little intimating to me at first, but we all quickly got comfortable with using the ovens and cook top. During the class Tricia kept us entertained by sharing with us tidbits about the origin of the food, how to correctly sauté, cut chicken, use utensils, etc. Turns out after 30+ years of cooking I didn't know how to correctly hold a knife! Unlike other cooking classes I've attended I didn't have to purchase any specialty utensils in order to duplicate this recipe at home. Another helpful hint I learned was its worth the effort to prepare a timeline when preparing several dishes for a crowd. It's so frustrating to have something get cold while you're waiting on something else to come out of the oven. Tricia had prepared the timeline and we stuck to it and sat down for dinner precisely on time. The table was beautifully arranged with fresh flowers and placed at the large doors overlooking the beautiful gardens and gazing pool of Thistlewood Manor. Tricia joined us for dinner and the remainder of the evening was spent enjoying great food and conversation with new friends. One other point I should mention, the cost of the class is extremely reasonable and I highly recommend it if you are looking for something different and fun to do or just want to learn a new recipe. This was a most amazing wedding experience. The first of our 4 daughters chose this venue for her wedding. Our suspicion (and hope) now is that some of her sisters will follow suit. The venue itself is incredible. The romantic gardens, ivy covered gates and walls, looking fountain, and perfect manicured lawn provide an amazing setting for any photos. First look photos... dreamy. Ahhh. The interior is warm and yet glamorous. The spiral staircase is so grand, the beautiful crystal chandeliers... very little was needed as far as decorations due to the beauty of the manor itself. The bridal suite and groomsmen rooms were wonderful and the parking was spacious and convenient. The planning meetings took all the stress out of the planning. Tricia and Leslie were organized. We were provided links and vendor suggestions, pinterest ideas for things we mentioned we were aiming to make. Tricia could see a conflict in our ideas before we solidified them and steer us to better solutions. She's handled so many weddings and parties that she is truly an amazing source of ideas and a professional opinion. When we had questions, our calls were returned within 24 hours and we were made to feel as if our wedding was the most important of the year! (And it was ;). For days after the wedding, friends and family messaged us the kindest compliments about how beautiful the ceremony was, how wonderful the reception. One friend said it was like a fairytale. My daughter and those of us who helped her plan, all totally agree. Thistlewood Manor and the ladies who run it made it all possible. read more

It's a cute venue with great decor. Perfect for an intimate wedding. I love the staircase and chandeliers! This venue gets a poor rating from me because of the customer service. If you're looking for the world's worst wedding coordinator, this is the place to come. She was completely unprofessional, talked to the bridal party members, as well as the mothers of the bride and groom, in the most condescending tone, and made everyone feel stressed. The groom warned me leading up to the event that she had been spacey about the details of their wedding, but I was not prepared for this. She argued details of where things should go with bridal party members; she rushed us to get dressed even though the bride wanted more group pictures in our robes; she was annoyed that the bride was still getting her makeup done; she allowed the ceremony to start even though there were literally 10 people coming in from the parking lot who then had to stand on the corner of the patio for the ceremony; she didn't even notice that the bridal party had not been served or had a chance to get food even though the bride and groom specifically requested it be done; and to top it off, she rudely told the mother and father of the groom that they had to take the trash from the bridal suite with them. Are you kidding me?!? We did our part and cleaned up everything and then you tell us, "we can't take all of this. We don't have a dumpster." Excuse me? That was not in the contract, and you expect a group of people to only make due with a tiny trashcan all day? The bride's parents then had to carry trash onto the hotel shuttle with them since all of the remaining cars were packed. What a joke! Until the owner can provide her clients with better customer service and hire staff that actually enjoy their job and want to provide a fun and welcoming environment, I wouldn't recommend spending your money here. Absolutely love and adore Thistlewood Manor! I highly recommend anyone looking for a venue to check it out! I recently got married and had my reception here and I have no regrets at all. The whole venue is beautiful, from the gardens outside to the grand staircase inside! Our photographer had more then enough beautiful spots to take pictures. The location is a nice little drive away from the noise and clutter of the city. We got SO many compliments on how beautiful our reception was. My favorite part was getting to walk down the grand staircase, I truly felt like a princess! The owner, Tricia, is such a sweetheart! We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Thistlewood in October 2017. It was a magical experience! We have received tons of compliments regarding how beautiful the venue is and how delicious the food tastes. Leslie and Tricia were wonderful, and they helped us so much every step of the way, from the initial meeting all the way through the wedding itself. Tricia exudes warmth and is also a wonderful chef to boot, having prepared the delicious dinner for us and our guests. Leslie assisted us as our wedding planner and our day-of coordinator. She was incredibly professional and gave us great guidance to make our wedding wonderful, helping us with décor decisions and choosing certain vendors. We also asked Leslie to be our florist, and her floral arrangements were so beautiful! Thistlewood is so great because they provide so many excellent services beyond being a venue. Both Tricia and Leslie were responsive to our emails and communicated very well. They really made us feel like they cared and wanted our day to be special. I recently attended a cooking class at Thistlewood. There were five of us participating in this instruction. We cooked chicken fettuccine alfredo, caesar salad, and a fruit pastry. Everything was made from scratch. The kitchen was user friendly, instruction was clear, and it was comfortable to move around the kitchen. Afterwards we got to enjoy our awesome homemade meal! After an extensive search for venues in the Austin area, I discovered Thistlewood Manor just south in Kyle. I was looking for a venue with a very elegant, romantic feel, and this was THE MOST beautiful one I found. The bridal room to get ready provides an absolutely gorgeous backdrop for photos with the furniture and décor, and guests commented all night on the stunning interior space and outdoor area with the reflection pool and gardens. The spiral staircase inside allowed for a dramatic grand entrance and the chandeliers and dance floor in the center are very classy. The owner, Tricia, was very helpful during the planning process with suggestions for customizing a bar package for us, table layout ideas, etc. I was also extremely impressed with her use of a computer program for clients to use to create a personalized layout of her venue to scale and share with all other contracted vendors.
