I will forever be grateful to Thistlewood Manor for making my graduation photoshoot one to remember. First and foremost, when I called to schedule last minute, the owner seemed just as excited as I was to be graduating with my Doctorate! Then, when picture day arrived, there were literally tornadoes in both Austin and San Antonio, and the venue and roads had flooded. Despite considering canceling my photoshoot, the owner held out and waited for the water to recede. Miraculously, the sun came out, and all the water had seemingly disappeared. The owner arrived on time to my shoot, and the show went on as planned. It was perfect! She let us have full reign to her beautiful property, and my graduation photos turned out absolutely stunning. From the black and white spiral staircase and crystal chandeliers indoors, to the fountain and gardens outdoors. It was better than I could have ever imagined. If I need a venue again in the future, I will absolutely reach back out to Thistlewood Manor. It's not often you find business owners who not only care about the success of their business, but also the experience and memories made by their customers. Thank you again for letting me capture my once in a lifetime graduation at your beautiful venue!

Had my wedding here 11/12 and had a wonderful time. Reasonable priced and beautiful venue.

We had a New Years Eve wedding just last month. I can't say enough positive things about Thistelwood Manor. We had a year to plan our big day, and in working with Tricia and Leslie throughout that year, they were able to take every single vision I had and make it come to life. It was so nice having a venue that took care of food, tables/chairs, linens, AND flowers! I don't think you find that very often in the wedding world, but I am so happy we did. The gardens behind the venue are beautiful with several different options of where to have your ceremony. The ballroom with the grand staircase was perfect for our glamorous vibe. The food was good, and Tricia was very good with accommodating the vegans in the wedding party. If I could get married again, I would do it at Thistlewood Manor. We were invited here for a wedding. Absolutely stunning place. The staff was so accommodating from what I could see. Driving up the house was so gorgeous , we walked in to the back using the right entrance , waking in it's so gorgeous. The "backyard" garden was breathtaking and you can feel a peace just sitting there. It's gorgeous for pictures. The bride and groom were taking pics with their court and they all looked so gorgeous. We sat down , there's a patio area with loveseats and chairs. They had appetizers and so refreshing lemonade. When we walked inside there is a dance floor and tables set up on your left and some more on your right. I must say my absolute favorite was the staircase. They had flowers all on the railing and it smelled so fresh and looked so beautiful. The table decorations were so elegant & simple without being overbearing. The food was very delicious as well. We had bacon wrapped stuffed church breast, brisket, mashed potatoes , green beans & bread with the cutest whipped butter.

An update after we already paid and had our wedding.

If you are the type of person that knows what you want, and are SPECIFIC do not get married at this venue. They fail to fully listen or pay attention to details. They over-promised and under-delivered. Each meeting there was a different "intern", so wedding details got mixed up, mis-communicated or mis-interpreted. There was also new updates to the venue right after our wedding.

After touring the property with the owner, we decided this was the special place we wanted to tie the knot, so we quickly signed the paperwork and sent our deposit to secure our Friday wedding date. Initially, I felt very confident in the owner, Leslie, and was extremely excited to be working with him. That all changed in the few months leading up to our wedding date. My husband and I discussed with Leslie in person, on two separate occasions and once via email, about us staying the Thursday night before our wedding and having our bridal party stay in the various beds/bedrooms on the property. When Leslie called us the week before our wedding to finalize everything, he claimed that he had no idea we were having other people come and stay and proceeded to tell me it was "a misunderstanding on your part" and that he would require not only an extra one thousand dollars, but that the cottage, that was set to house half of our party, did not have running hot water. We were left to scramble at the last minute to find a new place for our family. Fast forward to the Thursday before our wedding: we get there after the 3pm check in time to start setting up and decorating, and the pavilion is a wreck. The ceiling and walls were caked in dirt, there were leaves and dirt all over the floor and the tables were not set up, as per our contract. We did not complain, just grabbed the broom and swept and set the tables up ourselves. The next day, we were left scrambling for trash bags (per our contract, the venue supplied trash bags), there were strings of lights that were out, and there was a dead bird in the pavilion. As the evening went on, the owner Leslie, showed up towards the last few hours of our reception and proceeded to bombard our day of coordinator with questions about trash clean up and haul off, after we had already informed him that we hired people to take care of everything. We did not notice until a few days later, that Leslie had sent my husband an email on the night of our wedding stating that we should "go ahead and send him $250 for clean up." It did not end there. A week later, my husband reached out to Jack, the property manager, to ask about a few missing items we thought might have been left on the property. Jack then informed us that one of our guests had popped a balloon with confetti in it, in the grass, in which he stated we should "bring a vacuum" to clean it up. Once my husband confronted him with the various issues we had that previous week at our wedding, Jack quickly turned the blame to the owner saying that "Leslie is in over his head at times." The amount of unprofessionalism shown by these two men was, and still is, extremely disappointing. The owner was clearly unorganized and would frequently confuse me with the Saturday bride. My husband and I were questioned on whether we made our deposit and final payment the week before our wedding and requested receipts. I found out a few weeks after my wedding, that the owner was trying to blame me, as the bride, for the lack of basic housekeeping for his business (bedsheets changed, beds made, toilets scrubbed, floors swept and mopped). It has taken me a few months to write this review because every time I thought about my wedding, it would bring negative reminders of the unnecessary stress and issues that were added by the venue. I am now able to focus on the only positive, which is marrying my husband. The Winfield Inn is an extremely unique and gorgeous property, but the owner and property manager, in my opinion, are not worth the money, or stress. Until the owner hires someone to take over management, I will not be recommending this venue to anyone in the near future.

I understand how this can happen, but the failed attempt at repairing the door is what really scares me. If Budget can't be bothered to find a proper door replacement or a welder worth their salt to make it safe, they should not be renting anyone a vehicle. I've never seen a worse attempt at welding in my life and that's saying something as I used to tutor teenagers in the craft. That being said, I can't say if this particular location had anything to do with the repair. However, this location did, at the very least, give it a pass AND completely neglect to clean out the truck from previous use. There was literally garbage (multiple items) behind the driver's seat, gross residue on the common user contact points, and the box hadn't even been swept! But wait, it gets better... We also had a vehicle in tow and the tongue brake system on the trailer was so far out of service it did absolutely nothing until you were forced into an emergency stop situation at which point the wheels would lock. Just to add to the excitement, the windshield was contaminated with sap or some such which rendered the wipers useless as soon as it rained and the driveshaft would violently shake the whole vehicle at highway speeds. Needless to say, it was an exciting 2200mi trip.

No need to store, clean, maintain or carry insurance not to mention the cost. We will just lease it from these guys. Thanks so much for making a long road trip very pleasant. It might be good to note that we spent about a week trying to book with two other companies, who would just not respond. Their websites said they would reply within 24 hours. The only response we ever got from one is they charged our credit card $3500.00 without confirming the reservation. Absolutely a nightmare, you can call me directly if you want names, I am not willing to post on a public site. Oh, and by the way, we were leaving on Thursday and Tuesday is when we finally reached out to American Dream Vacation. We put in an online request and within 30 minutes we had received a text letting us know the RV we were inquiring about was already taken. But sent us two other options within that next text. He asked that we call so we could get things squared away and it was like 9 pm or so. We did secure a Beautiful RV and the rest is smooth sailing. David & Kelly Thate 512-750-5777
