After putting off starting-up my business for about a year because of Hurricane Sandy, and having too many distractions, I finally decided to bite the bullet and incorporate. Another reason I held off is because I wasn't ready to go all in on my business and forming an LLC in NYS is an expensive endeavor, largely because of the publications fees, and because, for some reason, lawyers like to charge outrageous fees. Enter Steve Brodsky. I found his firm while searching on Google. I was intrigued by the very, very reasonable pricing, but became gravely concerned after reading some of the other negative reviews around the web. Steve replied to my first email, which included laundry list of questions, within 24 hours, apologized for being late about it, and welcomed more questions. Not your typical lawyer. My follow up email asked Steve about the negative reviews online, which he was straightforward about. During the period of those reviews, he said was incapacitated, unable to work, and as a small shop, things fell through the cracks. As a NYC resident, I appreciate straight talk and lack of BS. Steve was up-front about it, and said some of the negative reviews might have been well-deserved, though outdated and in the past. Suffice it to say, I decided to form my LLC through Steve, and 24 hours later, I had a series of PDFs that officially made me an entrepreneur. In addition, I would like to add that Steve and I communicated through email through the whole process which included me asking a TON of questions because I'm a nitpicker and a general pain in the ass as a customer. Steve, was patient, thorough and professional, and even threw in a generous bonus upon my protest. I'm not just a happy customer, I hope I can refer many other bootstrapping entrepreneur's Steve's way so that can affordably navigate the start-up process. Had a DBA but was looking to start an LLC to further increase the growth and legitimacy of my business. Steven was a huge help. Some reviews online don't paint him or his firm in that light. So I asked him point blank about it. If you know much about the internet, few reviews on positive service are posted. Most negative reviews carry much more weight. I went ahead and completed all of my LLC services from filing to publishing with Brodsky. He was very helpful through every step of the way. Why doesn't yelp give an option for 0 stars?? Anyway, this "lawyer" is a joke. There is a reason he has predominantly negative reviews on other sites (please check those out before deciding to spend your well-earned money on this individual). They are COMPLETELY legitimate. My sister and her ex used him to file simple divorce papers (no kids, no joint property, no contest) and he took their money, supposedly filed their papers (we're still not sure because it's been impossible to track the case), and promptly disappeared. Poof, into thin air. Does not return emails, or calls (if you don't believe me, try to call his office right now - no one ever answers the phone because he screens his calls. Ask yourself why a reputable lawyer with nothing to hide would have to screen his calls...Enough said). He's lucky my sister is nicer than I am, because I would have shown up to his office in person and demanded answers. Instead, she's going to hire a REAL lawyer to refile her papers (and report this FRAUD to the BBB; if enough people do so, maybe it'll put an end to his cowardly and criminal business practices). What a waste of time and money, and a disgusting way to conduct business (preying on people when they are at their most vulnerable). Karma is a bitch, Mr. Brodsky. read more

I concur. A total scam artist I'm sure any good review he has it was someone he paid to do so. He took $1000 to file my LLC and I have not heard from him in 7 months! I have also started a case with the Attorney General I'm surprised this guy is still in business considering he is a total fraud read more

I am currently doing the LLC publishing hired them in October 2014 and I asked for a follow-up 4weeks later and he responded quickly. He told me where it was being published and when I checked it out I found it right away. he explained the process and the estimated time it would take and he did what he said he would do. I have no complaints about the process so far. I know some people have bad reviews with this company and I read them after the fact but I decided to just let the process work itself out. I don't call because he says he doesn't respond to calls and when I emailed him he responded quickly. You need to be patient and let the process finish out even if you are deactivated by the state for failure to publish you are still able to function as a business. read more

This company is a scam. BEWARE! I paid them $450 to publish my LLC, 6 months later they did NOTHING. They do not return calls or respond to emails. Even their voicemail message says they do not respond to phone calls promptly. I am disputing their charges with my credit card bank and filing a complaint with the NYS Bar Association. read more
