The woman at the counter was extremely helpful and gave me a rundown of their various cheeses, they had several different blue cheeses along with cheddar cheese. She then offered us a tasting of some of the cheeses, and we loved them all. I We also ordered a couple of grilled cheese sandwiches which we ate on the picnic tables out front of the shop. I won't say that it was the best grilled cheese that I have ever had but it is high on the list. Although I wanted to buy one of everything, I decided to buy two blue cheeses and one cheddar along with a dip knowing that I could order more via the web. As we made our purchase the woman asked what we had seen and where we were headed. She made a couple of suggestions which were already on our list. As we left, I found myself thinking that everyone we had interacted with was so friendly and helpful, which made it a very pleasant experience!

They make the best homemade salsa and soup in the surrounding area!! It's worth the drive and not too far out of the way. Forewarning, the salsa is on the sweeter side, per se, and I usually get 'medium' but they also have 'hot'. I've never had anything like it, it's sooo good. They have just about anything you'd want from a farmers market and my pictures don't really do it justice. And guess what, they're open 6 days a week!! The owner still makes her mouth-watering assortment of soups, but now-a-days instead of having them steaming hot in crock pots for patrons to scoop their desired amount, they are prepackaged and frozen for all to enjoy when it suits them. She says they are even more popular than before. It looks like the same modest place as before, very inviting, and well stocked. I'm thankful we have places like this around! We bought some fresh bread that was later consumed (with leftover cheese from the Ashland Co-op) on our way home the next day. Also safety tucked away from this shopping adventure was a nice wood spatula and a pair of folding tongs from Shadow Mountain Woodworks, While we were strolling along the various booths, we enjoyed the live music, interesting people, and a warm Community vibe.

Your favorite farm to buy vegetable from is also the place to get locally started and hardened plants if you're a gardener. Many stands start off the year with homemade baked goods. There are food trucks available with breakfast and lunch items. My favorite truck is the grilled cheese sandwich and soup truck. There is always an assortment of things grown or made in the Rogue Valley. Over the years I've seen cat trees, scarves, gazebos, soap, emu and ostrich products local honey, eggs, and jerky products and occasionally guitar players. It's not long before there are vegetables, fruit and berries to buy - cucumbers; slicing and pickling, parsley, summer squash, tomatoes, radishes, carrots, corn, black berries, cherries and many things that are slipping my mind at the moment. When you're done shopping, Hawthorne Park is a nice place to eat what you purchased or let the kids cool off at the water playground. There are two dog parks so that big and small dogs can socialize. There is something for almost everyone. The pictures I'm sharing are of plants that were purchased from the growers market.
