We stopped here after visiting the Wildlife Imaging Rehabilitation center and I am glad we did. I was aware that they offered farm tours, I was there to visit the shop and to purchase cheese. I love blue cheese and from what I read, this creamery had an award-winning blue cheese. The woman at the counter was extremely helpful and gave me a rundown of their various cheeses, they had several different blue cheeses along with cheddar cheese. She then offered us a tasting of some of the cheeses, and we loved them all. I We also ordered a couple of grilled cheese sandwiches which we ate on the picnic tables out front of the shop. I won't say that it was the best grilled cheese that I have ever had but it is high on the list. Although I wanted to buy one of everything, I decided to buy two blue cheeses and one cheddar along with a dip knowing that I could order more via the web. As we made our purchase the woman asked what we had seen and where we were headed. She made a couple of suggestions which were already on our list. As we left, I found myself thinking that everyone we had interacted with was so friendly and helpful, which made it a very pleasant experience! read more

It's not super clear from their website, but the location in Central Point has a bigger selection for tasting/buying. You can kind of see some cows while you drive in, but the farm itself is off limits to the public. There is a small indoor stand where you can taste a few cheeses and the employee was friendly and knowledgeable, letting us know that the milk is sent from this location to Central Point for cheese production. There was a nice selection of goodies to pair with your cheese for a picnic at the outdoor tables. Tip: stop at the rest stop before taking the exit off I-5. There's a single port a potty near the parking area that gets pretty hot on a summer day and the resident spiders inside let me know it hasn't been cleaned in awhile. read more

We went to visit expecting to see a working milk farm, and a cheese processing plant. Instead the "tour" consisted of watching a cow being milked by a machine, then lead to their "holding area" for the next go around. They cheerfully shared how that when calf's are born they are whisked away to a "calf nursery" where they are raised in isolation from the mother and fed nutrients so to become strong healthy animals so to produce their share once fully grown. This "farm" has a nice idilic pasture for visitors to view, but was told the animals don't go there..... Not an experience we expected to find. read more

We stopped in for our first visit, a late lunch on a very rainy Sunday. The gal at the counter was super friendly and professional, taking our order and then chatting with us about the dairy and cows while the sandwiches were grilling. The only reason it's 4 stars instead of 5 is that the flavors weren't as great as we'd expected and the bread wasn't as crispy-grilled as we'd hope. We found this creamery in Medford last year and since we LOVE blue cheese and theirs is excellent, we began ordering their cheese on line for it to be shipped to us. Today we checked out this location where some of their cows are kept and took a tour. It was about 20 minutes and we learned how they robotically milk their cows in that time. It's very interesting (and humane) how it's done! After the tour we went inside, tasted a few cheeses, and bought one of their Touvelle cheddar cheeses and our favorite blues: Randy loves the Smokey Blue and my favorite is the Rogue River Blue. Came here on our way back from the Illinois river to see a real dairy farm and to sample some cheese. The lady behind the counter (I forget her name) was super nice and said we were the first to arrive that day. She took us on a tour of the facility and showed us all the different kinds of dairy cows they have as well as how the machine that milks the cows work. Cows all seem happy. Cheese was good. I tried their blue cheese that won an award, pretty good. Not a blue cheese fan, but this one was pretty good. read more

After an afternoon of hiking, we were looking for a snack or ice cream. After a quick search on Yelp, I found Rogue and I am so happy I did. When we arrived we were the only customers and it was great having the place to ourselves. A young woman in a mask came out to greet us and say hello to our pup. She explained that we could self tour the dairy farm, but she would walk us through if we liked. We wanted to snack before our tour so we ordered the two grilled cheese sandwich options that they offered. One had cheddar, a little bit of their amazing bleu cheese and honey in it and the other had their Hopyard Cheddar. The bleu cheese one BLEW MY MIND. Best grilled cheese EVER. If you're a fan of bleu cheeses order that one! After scarfing down the grilled cheeses we walked the premises with the young woman and she explained how the milking robots worked and how smart the cows are. It was fascinating! We also got to see a newborn calf! It's a short tour, but very cool to learn about cows and dairy farming. I then returned to the farm stand to purchase some goodies to-go while the bf and pup roamed the premises. I went a little crazy and bought their award winning Rogue River Blue, Oregon Blue, La Di Da Lavender Cheddar, Jalapeño Cheddar, and their medium cheddar. All of them are delicious. They unfortunately didn't have any ice cream available as their stock melted due to the shut down earlier in the year. However, their grilled cheese sandwiches and collection of cheese alone are worth making a stop here. I definitely want to come back. read more

This was a pretty fun stop in Grants Pass. Very strict about the times you can basically even look at the cows. Can't go within about 100' feet except at designated times. I get it, it's a working farm, but was a little disappointing for the kids. And seems like there could be a happy medium to get a little closer. People I'm sure ruined that at some point for them. Food and snacks run out, so get there early. Grilled cheese and soup were greasy and delicious. The store is awesome but prices are the same as any fine grocery store, so don't expect any savings like I did. Happy it goes back to the farm of course. Glad I went once, but I would go back. read more

We love the cheese. However for us the tour of the farm was a bit disturbing. Ever was it mentioned that the animals are allowed to simply roam and graze on the acreage that's mentioned in the brochures. What we came away with was we saw a corporation and it's factory. read more

We opted to visit the farm store but the actual store in Medford had a much better selection of cheeses as well as knowledgeable staff. The farm offers tours at 11 and 2 but when we arrived at the designated time the cows were feeding and there was no milking to view. So I recommend the original cheese shop in central point. This was our first time out to the dairy farm! What a great family friendly day to plan. If you're near the Grants Pass area, it's a must see. The Staff was very knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating! We learned that new technology is being used to milk the cows automatically. They just line up for their turn and the computer on the milking robot manages to find their udders and attaches. Really cool tech approach and the gals milk when they feel the need (not forced to...it's on their terms). I love that it is an organic farm and they recycle whatever and whenever possible along with the use of solar energy. Naturally we had the famous Blue Cheese, Cheddar and Honey Grilled Cheese! This met all expectations of the right amount of ooze and flavor. The best grilled cheese sandwich you'll every taste! Nice selection of samples to try and cool knowledgeable workers to talk to about cheese, beer, grilled cheese, and cheese...Duh! They have been doing this here for a very long time, and it shows in their crazy blues! Wine leaves soaked in brandy to wrap the cheese with for aging..I mean cmon' you know it's bad ass. Tara the farm store manager was very knowledgeable and really friendly, to the point of letting us take her picture...we were both celebrating our birthdays that weekend. These are the smartest cows I've ever seen. The cows get in line 2-3 times a day to be milked by the robot. Amazing! read more

CHEESE - so yummy. This farm stand was new to me and had all the yummy delicious Rogue Creamery cheese that I like to taste. I shared a bleu cheese and honey grilled sandwich that was oozy toasty warm and ate malty chocolate ice cream. Let's just say that it wasn't a diet lunch. When I bought my first hunk of Oregonzola cheese at the Medford Saturday Market at the Commons, I asked the vendor if the cheese factory would be a fun visit for my 3 year old. She said the Farm would be much more interesting so we made a point of visiting. This is a must for little ones and the grilled cheese sandwich was out of the world good. The woman who worked at the farm stand named Dee had great customer service and helped us get a great family pic in front of the cows. When she said they feed their cows only organic feed and treat them like queens it made my family so happy and we can't wait to support Rogue Creamery for years to come. read more
