Miss Kitty's Cat House is about accepting and then rehoming cats and finding them the best home possible...not in pleasing "customers." Their volunteers are very nice, but will not rehome one of their fosters without first insuring that they meet Miss Kitty's criteria for a good home for their cats. Yesterday, we took them a little cat that had been dumped in our neighborhood. We could not keep her ourselves because we have a very sickly easily frightened elder cat of our own. We live an hour away from Miss Kitty's. Barb at Miss Kitty's was very helpful and explained the criteria we had to meet to have little Sweetie accepted and directed us to a vet that would do her qualifying exam on a walk-in basis. (Every other vet was booked a week or more out). So we made the trip, got her accepted, and were blown away by their facility. Cats appeared relaxed and were lounging and roaming uncaged in a super clean rescue house. So while it broke my heart to give the little girl up, I am greatly relieved to have found Miss Kitty's. We know that Miss Kitty's will carefully vet any prospective new parents for her and that she will be well cared for while waiting for her forever home. We are David and Glenda Freeman. We live in Cottonwood. We are now regular doners to Miss Kitty's Cat House, as it is an awesome and much needed facility for orphaned cats.

Their help was so appreciated, and we tell everyone about Miss Kitty's and their deeds whenever we can bring it up. While I did not experience any of the things mentioned in the negative reviews on here, I would rather an animal adoption facility that prioritizes the animals in their care over customer service for humans.

Read between the lines of the 1 star revenge reviews and think about what category of humans would leave a revenge review in the first place, knowing that it makes it harder to find a qualified home for these cats. If you were unqualified to adapt a cat here, which is what all these 1 star reviews are about, look in the mirror. Unqualified meaning, they're 85 years old and want a kitten (do the math), or they want a cat to "serve" a demented relative as sort of a mental stimulation for the relative, or they've had a history of taking a 10 year long pet to the pound because they "couldn't afford" some needed vet treatment, or they have a cat already and let it run around outdoors. Or Grandma wants a kitten to entertain a 5 year old. And so much else. You'll find shelters in Prescott that will give you what you want, regardless to whether you are qualified. The reality is that the bigger the turn-around the shelter has, the more adoption fees they can generate, and the more new cats they can give a chance to. It's a very very tough choice for a shelter and in some ways there isn't a right and wrong. All involved are well meaning. It's just that for this shelter, there's a personal attachment to all that have ended up here, and she (owner) has a commitment to them that involves adopting out only to a person/party that very likely will give this cat a long life of happiness. Come visit. I guarantee you will be shocked at the totally undeserved Yelp average review. This place is top notch.

It's about fostering, nurturing, and finding good homes for CATS. If the folks working at Catty Shack don't think you'd make a good cat mom or dad, just move on and find another one somewhere else. It ain't that hard. Catty Shack does an awesome job of caring for cats and making them available to folks who fit their criteria. Folks who they feel would take good care of the little ones.

And my dog is allergic to it. I can't stand breathing it, smelling it, or having to wash it off of me when I get home. This perfume sticks to you and your pets. The last time I was there I had my cat and I had to give her a wiping down with peroxide four times to get the perfume out of her fur. The last two times I was there with my dog she started sneezing/coughing/sniffling and getting really itchy on the ride home and it continued at home until I could give her a bath with peroxide. And then another bath, and another. It usually take 3 or 4 baths before the perfume is pretty much gone. I have to take a shower and wash my hair with peroxide to get the perfume off of myself and out of my hair. I have to change clothes as soon as I get home because the perfume transfers to everything like furniture and pets if I hold them or they are on my lap. It's horrible and it's a huge ordeal to go through each time so I will stop going there and find another vet that doesn't have perfume. Many of the businesses in the area have perfumes now for some reason so I don't know if I'll be able to find a vet that is perfume free. I've already tried one other vet and they also had bad perfume. None of these places admit to having a perfume and all deny its existence. I can only theorize that people are "nose blind" to them and are desensitized to the perfumes. I live in a fragrance free home, so I can smell all the perfumes out there because I'm not nose blind to them. And these perfumes are toxic and unsafe. I get migraines and have asthma and the perfumes make things worse for me. As for the vet care, it's OK. But standards are so low in AZ that PVPC is actually the best in town and that's not saying much. But that was why I took my pets there for so many years.
