My overall experience…read moreunfortunately was not great due to the poor experience I had with having to sublet my share of the lease. The process to sublet starts with paying 1/3rd of total rent in order for them to begin the paperwork. Then the paperwork for the subleaser is complex, time-consuming, and requires things such as 3 years of tax documents, credit check, background check, and proof of income. In addition, if one person on the lease sublets then none of the other people on the lease are able to sublet during the remainder of the lease period. I was informed over the phone that there was no security deposit due for the subleaser. I asked this multiple times because I wanted to make sure I had this very important detail correct. When I finally found a subleaser who completed the paperwork and was approved, at the very end they requested a security deposit to be paid that day. I felt awful for my subleaser since I told him that there was no security deposit due. This was incredibly unprofessional on their end and caused complications on my end. In addition, the phone customer service representative of Rockwel Realty was unprofessional, rude, and impatient. It's a shame really because I thought the property itself was decent for the price. I would never recommend renting a property through Rockwel Realty, especially if you plan on subletting at some point in time. Not a good company.

I've dealt with numerous realtors, but for this transaction in Pittsburgh, I was nervous. Being out…read moreof town and with the property having been used by my son and his friends during school, I wasn't sure of the condition or how much work it needed. I researched the best agents online and narrowed it down to Lisa. Even then, I wasn't sure since we'd never met in person, but I wasn't planning on flying out and was hoping for the best. This lady gets things done. She is pleasant and articulate, but more importantly, she knows the contract, has her own contractors for repairs, and knows exactly how to prep for a photoshoot and a successful open house. She is a great negotiator who never tries to sway you just to get a quick sale, she respects your opinion and delivers results. She also does the "little things" without even mentioning them, I only found out through my son that she was personally scrubbing the sink before the photoshoot to make the kitchen sparkle. When issues come up mid transaction, she resolves them. I had a scare right before closing with a midnight security alert. I called the police for a sweep and alerted Lisa around 1 am, she was out there the next morning with the police to do an inside check and make sure everything was good. If I had another property in Pittsburgh, I would not hesitate to work with her again.

What I find most impressive about Lisa is her wealth of knowledge. She knows what a homebuyer must do to sell a house and is both honest and upfront from the get-go. Instead of rushing you to list the home so that she can make another quick sell, she'll tell you exactly what needs to be done to sell the house at its highest potential and then help you weigh the pros and cons of making these changes. If you listen to her, like I have, you're going to put a house on the market that will deserve AND earn its highest price point. As a buyer, I have been even more impressed by Lisa's work. She has been patient with me every time we've worked together, put in hours of work in showing me homes and trying to find homes that fit both my taste and budget. Her critical eye was also so valuable when it came time for me to make decisions. When she showed me homes, she was able to show me their potential when I was unable to see it. At the same time, she was able to walk through the homes with me, point out the issues, explain their potential severity and costs involved to fix them. Again, she very thoughtfully weighed pros and cons with me to help me make the best for me. An added bonus: Lisa has an incredible network of people in her roladex. The listing photographer she uses is fantastic. The home inspector that she recommends is the most thorough home inspector I've ever worked with. I've used an electrician she recommends who did wonderful work in my home. It's a package deal that will benefit you long after you buy or sell a home with her. It is rare to find someone who isn't out to make a buck these days. Lisa's first priority is her client all day, every day.

The maintenance team immediately fixes any issues that may arise (they take amazing care of their properties, so there aren't really any issues to begin with!), the folks in the office really take their time answering any and all questions, and they truly care about their renters. I moved cross country for the first time in my life, and the folks in the office really made the whole process easy for me. If I could live in this apartment forever, I would. They are super nice, informative, professional, hardworking, and overall outstanding. Even my introverted cats who are scared of everyone except my wife and I LOVE the maintenance team, so that says a lot. Everyone at Steiner Realty truly deserves a raise, in my opinion. I've worked as a Leasing Agent before, so I have extremely high standards- Steiner absolutely went over and beyond my standards in every aspect. The quality of my apartment is outstanding, and I have been absolutely blown away by how amazing my time has been while living here. They keep everything super clean- they even salt the sidewalks and parking lots before any storm, big or tiny. They always answer the phones immediately when you call, and they take their time with you. If someone was in my parking spot, they would have them towed immediately for me. One of my light bulbs went out, and they came and replaced ALL of my lights, and even gave me extra bulbs. They even email you after you get maintenance done to make sure you are happy with the results. They all truly go over and beyond. I could go on and on. More people need to know how amazing Steiner is, and how amazing their properties are too.

The grounds are kept pristine, I always see someone working on the property doing something, whether it's cleaning out the walkways for the spring, touching up the landscaping (which is very beautiful) maintaining the parking lot, or cleaning the pool. It's clear management cares very much not just for the property for the tenants too. I've been checked in on several times since I have moved in. Leasing was very helpful getting me situated since I was moving for work it was a very stressful time trying to arrange everything, and this was one less thing I had to worry about in the process. I only ever had one small maintenance issue and it was addressed the next day. A definite recommend.

These are upscale apartments in Castle Shannon borough. They look exactly like Christopher Wren…read moreapartments in Wexford. However, there is one big difference: rent. A two bedroom, 2 bath in Christopher Wren is $1200/month. Here, its $1590 (+ gas, electric, water & sewage, which they estimate at about $250). Both apartments have the exact same amenities: new refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, garbage disposal, and (in-unit) washer & dryer. Here, the washer and dryer are one unit, the dryer being above the washer. I used to sell major appliances for Sears. These rarely sold, and frequently were returned, because they just didn't clean/dry well, and the (top loader) washer door barely opened because of the dryer. The dryer was too high for short/petite people, and you couldn't see inside well to be sure no laundry was left behind. Christopher Wren has big, energy efficient, front-load washers & dryers in a bigger laundry room with more storage. Additionally, Christopher Wren's bathrooms both have full tubs. Here, one bathroom has a stall shower, which you have to walk through to reach the walk in closet. Not so at Christopher Wren. I called and set an appointment. I arrived early, walking around to find the rental office. I called (Cara), only to find out they have another apartment building located in Baldwin with the same name. When I booked the appointment, she didn't ask me which location I wanted. She apologized, borrowed her sister's car and drive right over to meet me. The down side is they are across the street from St. Ann's R C. school, which, when they hold their week-long annual carnival, you'll get lots if noise and traffic. The other negative is the view. One side overlooks St. Ann's cemetery. On the plus side, at least you'll have quiet "neighbors"...
