Yummy sandwiches and homemade iced tea
    William L.

I have to give them full 5 stars because: - friendly staff - they make their own bread and they are so frigging good!!!! (I'm salivating right now as I imagine their freshly baked multigrain bread) - they make really delicious cakes and pies. (I think a pond just appear in front of me) - their lemon meringue. I'm speechless, you just have to go there yourself to taste it, but you'll be lucky if it hasn't been eaten all by me. - they make their own homemade iced tea. This concoction is almost magical with a combination of green tea, black tea, mint, and lemon. (I think the pond just turned itself into a mini lake) - the staff know their stuff. (I hate it when I visit a restaurant and ask their staff what they like or if they know what's in a dish and they would answer "I've never tried. I don't know") - their quiche..... And again they're HOME FRIGGING MADE. :-) (Yes... The lake has turned into an ocean of saliva) It's just a small little place in the corner of the Nieuwemarkt square. It's cute, cozy enough. And the choices of food are quite healthy considering they are made from scratch. The only thing I have to complain about is that they don't have a free wifi. If they do, I'll probably live there.

Visited here on a beautiful sunny but cold day in January. This little place has cemented itself as a firm fav on my foodie list and when back in The Dam I will defo be returning here for brunch! This little deli has lovely attentive and friendly staff made us feel at home as soon as we entered. They make fresh bread and cakes and honestly it was difficult to pick what to have. Also the view is brilliant for people watching think I could have stayed here all day eating and watching! We eventually settled on a goats cheese, walnut and honey toasted sandwich on homemade Rye bread. OMG this was gorgeous and nutty and sweet and savoury. All in one go! A total explosion of flavours which I have tried to recreate at home but not quite mastered unfortunately!! We also had a Edam, ham and tomato salsa toasty on multi grain bread again delicious but wish we ordered two goats cheeses lol! We also ordered a slice of Carrot cake and lemon meringue cake. Now the carrot cake was good but OMG the lemon meringue had us fighting over who was getting the last bit. Delicious and light as a feather. The coffees were also great but the homemade Lemon Iced Tea was the highlight drink wise. I've had the typical American ice tea in New York, Florida and Vegas but this one was the best yet. Really delicate, juicy and refreshing. Again I've tried to make this back home but to no avail. Oh well suppose it just means we need to visit Amsterdam again soon!

Flat white and tuna sandwich went too damn well. This is a good place to visit for lunch or a mid day snack. Food tasted good and fresh. No complaints. 5 stars.

The Broodbar is a small, cute-looking deli where you can buy all kinds of sandwiches, quiche and cakes and enjoy them with soda, coffee or juice. It is very small. They have about 12 places to sit along the windows, bar style, but if all 12 would be taken everyone would site very close to each other. I didn't think the staff was not very enthusiastic and they were also inefficient. We sat in front of them with our menus for a long time but it was hard to get the attention. After a while we had to go to them to ask them if we could order. We ordered drinks and sandwiches. Many of the bread on the menu wasn't available. They brought our drinks quite fast and they were good. We had to wait for our sandwiches very long and it was not really a problem since we were not in a hurry and were chatting but after a long while we started noticing that everyone else was eating/finished/had left already and we still did not get anything. When we asked they told us they forgot our order.. Okay that can happen. But this place is so small! We were seated 1 meter away from them in their direct view. Super lame and weird. Our sandwiches arrived quickly then and it tasted good but was not anything very special. It was just nice since I had eggs and bacon and that is usually a good combo. I also went to the toilet and the was no option to wash your hands. So I had to wash them in the kitchen where they make the food. :/

We wanted to find somewhere to eat within a short walk of the Museumplein as we had 1:15 p.m…read more tickets for the Rijksmuseum. My wife located this place and we met up with our daughter there after she dropped off her rented bike nearby. If you walk to the far end of the park from the Rijksmuseum and turn left at the street that borders the park there, the restaurant is about 2 blocks along there. You enter into a small waiting area and proceed between 2 counters. The best way I can describe the process is that it was like an ice cream shop in the U.S. They had glass displays showing what was available for meals - varieties of pasta, etc. You could select from those, or I think they had salads also. You place your order and then grab a table. A server will bring the food out when it is ready. Seating was a bit limited, so there could be a wait for a table. We arrived just before they got busy, though. They have about 5 or 6 small tables on the ground floor. If those are full, a fallback option is to ascend the spiral stairs up to a low-ceilinged loft. This is where we ate. The chairs here were fine but the tables were quite small - almost like a high coffee table. It wasn't hard to eat off these, just a bit different than usual. Also, if you are much over 6 feet tall, the ceilings will require caution. They can probably accommodate another 3 - 4 small parties up there. Everyone liked their food, which definitely had that 'prepared fresh' vibe. I got the pasta and had no trouble finishing it. I'd definitely consider eating here again were I back in the area.

We wanted a quiet small dinner, no complications 1 Veg, 1 Carnivore. Renzo's was great. We picked…read morefrom the deli counter, heating optional. Delicious selections. Mostly semi Italian deli items. I had ravioli, stuffed mushroom, roasted veggies, rocket and generous parmigiana sprinkling. They have tables so we could eat there. Small place, hard working, cool looking deserts (skipped because we had stuff back at the hotel.). I think they may have had table service upstairs, call and ask if that's your requirement. Lovely neighborhood small deli.

The sandwiches are moderate in size -- good for a quick lunch or big snack. Don't let the line discourage you. It probably took us about 15 minutes to order and 15 minutes to get our sandwiches. Since we already had made plans to eat elsewhere, we made sure to come back before we left the city. It's only five minutes from my hotel anyways! Come to find out, the line wasn't as huge as it would seem. They were holding people outside because the inside was actually ridiculously warm. So they were holding people outside to minimize the amount of people inside. The wait was actually less than 10 minutes. The first thing I noted was...wow, everything is so cheap here! I'm sure that's a partially a function of them basically being cash only (no Visa, MasterCard, American Express accepted, so I don't know what would be accepted), but also because it's Amsterdam and everything is way cheaper here in general. Ordered the Cortona (€4.90), Calzone Margherita (€2.80), Pizza with Grilled Vegetables (€2.80), Ricotta Cannoli (€2.80), and a Large Classic Tiramisu (€2.80). Goes without saying that everything was fire. That Cortona sandwich was so well-made and tasty! If I was ordering something like this back in the U.S., it would easily be 3x the price. Staff here are super friendly! They keep the line churning real quickly despite the high demand. And despite how many orders they take in, they move very quickly. I have honestly no clue how I have never come here before considering the amount of times I have been to Amsterdam. It's definitely going to be one of those spots that I will keep coming back to, that's for sure.
