A perfect find for fruit picking! Brookdale Farm has a wonderful variety of fruit, including 19 different kinds of apples. When we went in early September, about 6 of them were recommended for picking. Once you arrive at the apple picking area, you're given a map of the area and an explanation of how to find the different types (based on the ribbon colors at the end of the rows). It's very well organized, and the map saves you time if you're looking for something specific. On the back of the map, it even has descriptions of all of the different apples, describing the taste and what they're best for (eating, baking, sauce, etc). Super helpful! Brookdale ends up being more affordable than other pick-your-own places because you don't need to buy a certain amount. They give you a 1/2 bushel bag, but if you don't fill it up, you just pay per pound. This method works great for us, as we only picked what we thought we could eat, and ended up spending about $10 for ~13 apples. Our faves were the honeycrisps!! The farm store along the side of the road is also nice to check out. They had some roosters and baby goats outside (as well as a pop-up BBQ stand). Inside, you can buy their fruit as well as a variety of local products like jams, cheeses, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar. Their cider donuts are packaged (not freshly made), so we passed on the baked goods, although the pies did look delish. I'd definitely return to pick other fruit like berries and even later in the season when other apple varieties are available! read more

This review concerns only the PYO Cherries and Strawberries. I came to pick on an early weekday morning on a friend's recommendation. We were very warmly greeted by the woman manning the PYO stand, and decided to pick cherries first. There were only a few other groups there when we arrived and it was a lovely experience with tons of dark red sweet cherries available for picking. Then we went to the strawberry field and picked a few berries. Very hard to find and they were small and definitely not beauties, so if that matters to you, be forewarned. I didn't mind because we were only picking a few, and I know they use IPM for their pest management which I appreciate. The prices were quite reasonable, we picked a ton of cherries (over 5 lbs) and a quart of strawberries for around $45. Went home and made a delicious jam out of the strawberries and we've been eating cherries to our hearts delight. Overall, this was a good experience and I'll probably come back for PYO. read more

Came here for apple picking last year and there were so many other activities too! We did a corn maze and hay ride and some grocery shopping from their stand as well. There was a huge variety of the apples too, which I was unprepared for and was goggling the recipes that I wanted to make. read more

Went strawberry and cherry picking and this place was great! This is less popular of a spot and flies under the radar. We were turned away at Parlee farms because their strawberries were over picked and they stopped letting people in at 10:30. This was a better spot since they're were less people and the prices for picking strawberries and cherries were cheaper than Parlee. Would definitely recommend coming here! read more

We went to pick cherries,it was fantastic,so many to choose from. Went to farmstead first, visited the chickens. They told us to go across the street, stand was there with a lady who said she was half owner,she was so nice. My granddaughter had so much fun. I've come here during strawberry season and haven't found too many good berries. They do have a huge selection of apples. They also have ice cream and an indoor stand. There is a few tables to eat ice cream outside. Only chickens here for animals to see and a set of swings. They also have a decent sized corn maze too when in season! read more

Fruit selection is good. Service was so-so. Cherries are fresh. Blueberries are fresh. Raspberries and strawberries are fresh. The folks at the service stand are not the friendlies; I felt I was a burden to them. Overall it's a decent place. read more

My family and I were pretty disappointed with this place. The website and automated phone messaging said the cherry picking was open daily from 8-5. Neither indicated they were closing early. But after driving all the way up there getting there at 1PM they told us cherry picking was closed. Furthermore they rudely shooed us away from the cherries and raspberries even though we only wanted a look for the next season. I don't think we'll be coming back. read more

What a terrible first impression. We get in there and there are swarms of fruit flies ALL over the fruits and vegetables. Ok, I let it go. We still buy $30 worth of fruit & vegetables. We eat the corn & lettuce that night, it was really good. Next morning, almost everything else was rotted and soft. I still manage to get it all into the day so as to not waste it. Last night, I cut into the last tomato (just bought a day ago) and I look closer...white worms all throughout the tomato. Now, mind you...I barely looked at the others. I cut them up, put dressing on and we ate them. I was SOOOOOO disgusted that I couldn't even take a picture. I can barely write about it but felt others should be aware. In my opinion, this place is a dump. Wasn't impressed in any way, shape or form!!!!!!! I wouldn't go back here if they were giving their fruit/vegetables away! Awesome place to visit in the fall (or any time of year). Photo opportunity among the fall scenery and hey pretty cool corn maze. There is ice cream and the usual produce and goodies inside. Pretty crowded on an autumn weekend but worth the trip. read more

Brookdale Farm has its charm. There's an onsite aviary, a garden store, plenty of animals. The berries&produce tend to be pricey, so it's probably best to do the "pick your own." They have an OK parking lot, along with their own ice cream stand. A fun place to see farm animals for the family. High prices, but priceless fun. read more

Brookdale has a beautiful orchard, and I used to live right on the edge of it. One time I was walking my dog in the orchard after hours and there was a loose dog (a Rhodesian ridgeback) out there with its owner, which tracked me down and attacked me in the orchard. When I confronted the owners about being bitten, they just told me to get off their property, never apologized, just treated me like a piece of shit. I called the police, and the dog had to quarantine for 10 days to make sure it didn't have rabies. Regardless, I will NEVER support Brookdale ever again after the way I was treated. They don't care about you. Go to Lull Farm instead. read more

I love this pyo farm. It has apples, cherries, blueberries, strawberries, pumpkins, blackberries, raspberries, etc. It also has a great indoor/outdoor store. The indoor part has vegetables, fruits, pastries, drinks, etc. and it also has a large gift shop area with all kinds of gift items that are unique - not gonna find any of that stuff at Walmart. The outdoor section of the store is a very beautiful garden shop. There's a large bird cage with beautiful birds. My kids love this place. We always get gifts there and save them for Christmas. read more

This is the 2nd farm stand on the way to Hollis center from Nashua. It's worth a stop, but not a direct trip. The produce is not quite as good ad their neighbors, and the prices are a little high for the quality. HOWEVER, they will occasionally have items that are not as easily found in the area, and that's why you should include them as a stop on any Hollis farm trip! read more

SB and I decided to make a trip to Brookdale Fruit Farm to do some apple picking this afternoon. I have to say that, with Lull farm right next door, the area was a total zoo. We've been spoiled by our old PYO spot, which was exactly what we want and envision for the experience. Brookdale was nice, and the people could not be friendlier. However, I have to say that I would rather find some place out of the way that would be less busy. We picked Empire and Cortland apples, both of which are crisp and delicious. Unfortunately, it's getting to be late in the season and they've had a run on Honey Crisp, so those were unavailable. One thing I found to be cute about Brookdale was the fact that they had animals available for folks that would like to show their kids (or for animal lovers like us to go visit!). They also have a corn maze, which would be fun, though we did not partake. Overall, I liked Brookdale, I just prefer something a little more country and less commercial. read more

I have visited this farm for years driving long distance The food is good. Today it was a surprise maybe because the situation that everyone is facing. At picking your own a lady at the kiosk yelling us because we didn't wear a mask firs we were 20 feet far we couldn't hear her and try to tell her that I have a Health condition but she just keep yelling even we never went close to the kiosk. It's sad but you might find a better treatment 3 minutes driving far in the next farm. read more

Yesterday, my husband and I purchased a small bottle of infused olive oil. When we handed it to the clerk, she stated it was $11. I said that was not the price on the sign. She responded "this is what it is". There was no offer to check the signage/pricing, there was no offer to check with the manager. This is a working farm where folks can go and pick their own apples and veggies, depending on season. It seems a wonderful place to go with young ones as they have chickens, petting animals, swings, everything you need to thrill city children who have never been to a farm. There is a gift shop and plant nursery. I would bring visiting family and friends to this place. read more

Brookdale is great for PYO! They have a ton of fruits and veggies and seem to never run out. Personally I prefer Lull for some things over Brookdale, but Brookdale is our spot for PYO Strawberries, Blueberries, Apples and more! Great staff and always stuff to do! read more

Stopped going there years ago. No prices on their plants and the staff's answer was to take each inside to ask. Got a Brookdale's gift basket from someone for Christmas, canned items in it were 5 years out of date. Being as they were new to NH, I don't think this was something from the back of their closet they "regifted". read more

I wish I could say this was a fun family outting but.... After deciding to check Brookdale out after many many years of Going to Lull farm we were beyond dissapointed. We were told picking and the corn maze didn't open till 12p. There was no mention of that anyplace on the web site or at the farm. We decided to go back to Lull farm for the picking and to check out the farm animals all the great goodies they have. And then go back to the corn maze. We were told the maze costs $2 a person. We tried to pay and the very rude snobby young lady at the counter said you can just pay at the maze of you have cash. Sooooo we ventured back to the maze to find no one there. Went back to the store where the young snobby lady sure didn't want to be bothered. After standing there for a good 5mjns I asked her if she was open. She rudely said what did you need. I said I needed tickets for the maze. Again j was instructed to pay at the maze. I told her that there was no one there and if she would like me to pay at all she could take my money there or not all. After a few seconds of dirty looks and rude sighs she took my money band we went to the maze. Which was beat up and trampled on and tiny. No worth being free nevermind paying $2 for it. Save yourselves the annoyance and go to Lull farm where everyone is pleasant. read more
