I am sure it's a bit better in Winter and we were here in the dead of Summer (they stop serving at 2pm so that kinda sucks as well)...it's not a bad sandwich but it's like $2 worth of chicken on a roll for $11 plus tax. Okay, you could argue. maybe $3. This isn't something you NEED in your life...like I thought when I saw it on the TV show Chronicle. I'm glad I know and now I can move on with my life. The other sandwich we tried was The Bear. We didn't know about this one till we walked in, but I'm glad we mixed it up and got different things and shared them. This is basically an Italian Beef...which I never tried when I lived in Chi town for a spell. I can't compare it to anything but its a beef sandwich with some onions, peppers, etc. It is served with a side of Au Jus, which some will absolutely love. In short, I liked it because I like the beef aspect and while I typically love spicy things, this tasted as if some fool dumped a ton of ground pepper in a vat and cooked the beef that way. I personally think it was over-seasoned. If it was even a little bit subtler, I would have probably liked it a lot and might have gone for 4 stars. I do want to add there are two things I detest about this place: Just eating my food with my girlfriend and looking around and there massive ads for realtors and roofing guys (or other trades people) and EVEN WORSE, there is a bunch of religious stuff on one of the sides. I get it, the owner of this place can do what he will, it's their business. I just don't have to like it thrust in my face. This country was built on religious freedom and while I happen to have the same faith, I don't think anybody that doesn't should be subject to that. Moreover, when I go to lunch I just want a tranquil environment, particularly when I am overpaying...so I guess I feel like the food was okay, the environment was below par and for what we spent, we can do better and we will. Oh they sell some pies and fruit and stuff. I didn't look around too much since lunch was underwhelming, we def weren't leaving more money here...which is wild because my girlfriend rarely just wants to leave without buying a ton of stuff to bring home. TLDR - Food was okay, environment was lacking. Better value to be found elsewhere imo.

You only need a few days notice and can order 1/4, 1/2, etc. sheet cakes with a large assortment of decorations, or images for a greater price than other bakeries. Not to be overlooked is the hot food to go (and can call ahead to place an order!), which is quicker than waiting in store. Their 19" pizza is my family's go to. Mario, the man who is usually making the pizza, is fast and friendly. You can get a huge hot pizza for $10.99. It's an incredible deal. Growing up, this farm was steps from my backyard and I would always walk over with the neighborhood hooligans to poke the animals and inhale some tasty fudge (fat kid). Barker's is one of, if not the oldest farm in town, dating back to 1642 (NA was established in 1646) and has been run by 10 generations of the Barker family. There's a cute little farmstand with fresh vegetables (corn!), baked goods (fudge!), fruit (apples!), flowers, plants, and whatever else. There is also an area around the back of the barn where you can go look at the variety of animals they have and take in a deep breath of fresh animal stench. Barker's also offers your seasonal needs such as pumpkins, Christmas trees, etc. In comparison, Smolak Farm in North Andover is your 5-star place to go, but Barker's will always have that special place in my heart and that's why I love it.

Oh, and if you are going to have _family_ events at your farm, please get some decent restrooms instead of the run-of-the-mill plastic disgusting porta-potties. Do you really want your little kid sitting on a porta-potty seat ? Gross. Having said that, there are plenty of other farms around here that need to also take note on that front (Smolak Farms & Marini Farms).
