But since I needed to make a Costco run (and I'd mentally prepared myself for it) I decided to visit the east side Kohl's off of Federal Road. After this one-time experience , I think I'll stick with the one in Brewster. The outside of the store is kind of messy and looks like it's not maintained....it could literally be abandoned and you wouldn't tell the difference. You walk in and it's a standard Kohl's, only more tired and flatter. I know that may be hard to picture but when you go to the Brewster Kohl's and walk in, there's always a bright, seasonal display that is very welcoming and puts you in the mood to shop. Here, it was just a mess of carts haphazardly sitting around in the entry and some luggage that I wasn't sure was on display or was just waiting to be stocked. The selection was okay and they had stock, but there were a few areas that it looked like stocking had started but then been abandoned halfway through. Like boxes and carts and ladders just sitting in aisles and between racks. Not a big deal and maybe they're gearing up for back to school but just a little messy. What was the least appealing thing about this place is how long it takes to check out. We were the second people in line and just wanted to purchase one pair of swim trunks. It took a long time and there were no self service options such as they have at Brewster. Some dude had a complex return apparently so it took three cashiers several minutes to resolve that while the line kept growing. Then when we got to the cashier, he seemed really burnt out, which I can get and I empathize with. So a self-service option would have been quicker and a better experience. Anyway, the key takeaway from this review is that if you're in the greater Danbury metro area, take a ride on 84 West to Brewster and check out the Kohl's near the Southeast train station.

While there were several checkout stations open, most of the cashiers spent half their time wandering around moving merchandise and hangers from one place to another and not checking customers out! And it had to be obvious to them that there was a line of 8 - 10 people waiting! Maybe because of the Kohl's cash situation and that takes more time but I don't remember waiting this long to check out of a store (actually, there was a Kohls in Massachusetts that was this slow). Don't know what their problem is. Obviously, bad management or maybe no management at all. There were enough people but they were not doing their jobs. If you live in western CT, try the Kohl's in New Milford. I think that store might be a better experience. Try to avoid going to this store in Brookfield. I will now be shopping ONLINE using my Kohl's cash, now that I've found the right size for pants. Won't go to this store again. Not worth it to stand in line for half an hour, sweating.

The cashier never bothered to ask us how we wanted to pay. I validated or verified my Kohl's account and asked him if I can get the plastic Kohl's card. He said you have to call a phone # which he wrote down. It was funny because my GF was in somewhat of a daze - as she said "Hey don't we have to pay?" Due to this kind of smooth "check out" - it does not induce me to return to Kohl's anytime soon. * I think they should make getting a plastic Kohl's replacement card easier. Then they said they might have some in their book that can be shipped to them. I took a look and found some that I liked. The one I really wanted they said they couldn't get for me because I would need separates, understandable but disappointing. The other one I found didn't really match the color | was looking for, but the tie helped pull it together. I decided to RENT it for ~$200. The time came to pick it up, a few days early which was nice. Then I saw the suit... it was VERY low quality with a CLIP ON TIE (hook and loop). It was days before the wedding so there was nothing I could do but suck it up. They picked some white shirts from their stock for me to try on, but none of them felt like a good fit. I don't understand how a suit rental place can't find a correctly sized shirt. I decided to just take the one that fit okay and buy a shirt that actually fit me. I also had to buy a tie that would not look horrible. Still ended up looking pretty good at the wedding thanks to my external purchases, but | felt like I looked cheap thanks to the suit.
