They go out of their way, even on busy days, to answer any questions you have about the produce, the farm, or anything else about the area that you want to know. They keep the place looking great all season long (both the "you pick" fields and the indoor store. The most attractive thing about this farm share upon first glance was the great hours. You can go Saturdays from 10-3, and W-F from 1-630PM to pick up your share. These hours are unbeatable compared to other CSAs in Western Mass and they make it easier for busy people with odd work schedules to participate, which I appreciate. I also appreciate that they have THREE farm share sizes to chose from. I strongly recommend getting the largest one, and getting a buddy (or buddies) and sharing it, it is a great deal and a ton of produce! The prices and how everything works is clearly spelled out on their website so you can check it out before you head there. The produce selection is also pretty awesome. We are never bored. My favorite part about farm shares is that it forces you to eat way more vegetables than you probably would otherwise, and it also forces you to be creative with recipes and explore new dishes to cook. The U-Pick component is also a lot of fun, especially if you have kiddos. The current U-Pick selection is quite robust, unlike other farm shares where you just pick a handful of items and you're out. The fresh herbs alone are enough to make the U-pick worth every ounce of sweat required to pick them on a hot summer day. Finally, I must comment on the view. I attached some pictures to make that point. Being at the base of Mt Tom provides beautiful views as you are out in the field picking produce. It definitely makes you stop for a moment, take a deep breath, and smile. I strongly recommend this place!

They had lots of tomato plants, peppers, cabbage, cukes and lettuce all reasonably priced. We passed on the budding flowers -- just too soon in the season, we think. But they had a lot of choices, so we'll be back in mid-May. We also like their indoor store; they have some fresh-grown tomatoes that are tasty and sell some very good locally grown canned and bottled products (try their apple sauce - really yummy). We joined Oxen Hill Farm CSA in 2015. Prior to 2015, we had been around the block with a couple of…read moreother CSA Shares. All have been worth, but Oxen Hill Farm just puts a real personal touch to approach. Full shares, for big families (4+) and Half shares for smaller (less than 3); generally from June to October. A Fall extension is available for an additional price. If we can't eat our share before it goes to wast, then items are prepared and frozen, dehydrated and vacuum packed, or canned. Due to the interest in our Town we are afforded an in-town pick-up on Thursdays evenings. However, trips up to the Farm are always nice on a Saturday morning. At the Farm, you have a bit more choice than the in-town pick-up and you have browse through their nine herb beds and rows of flowers for the pick'n. Special purchases are available, too, my favorite the 20 pound cases of super ripe tomatoes. This has become my WeakEnd Warrior Passion once a year. Sauce and lots of it; basically a years worth. This year we ordered five 20 pound cases, plus about another 10 pounds from our garden. Equating to 45 quarts of frrrrresh sauce jared and sealed over a two day Saucy Fest. With Oxen Hill, it's all about fresh: Corn, Lettuces', Potatoes, Yams, Squashes, Tomatoes, Kale, Swiss Chard, Beets, Cucumbers, Garlic, Chives, Garlic Chives, Onion, Beans, Melons, Pumpkin, and so on!

Mike's Maze is located in scenic Sunderland, MA... a combination aerially discernible image and…read morecorn maze is crafted here each season with the apparent running theme of 'awesome' - Mike's has featured constructs from Albert Einstein to Julia Child... this year saw patrons getting delightedly turned around amid a reproduction of Odysseus and Polyphemus "An Odyssey in Corn"... After a brief introduction (stay on the path, keep up with your kids, etc) you are given a fistful of tokens, a score-sheet/rough map and a tall colored flag (in case you have an inner ear problem and get fully lost) and are set loose into the field... You then get to navigate your way through the maze, making your first decision as soon as you have taken a few steps inside... every so often you will stumble upon a mini-game that you can buy into utilizing one of your tokens, once complete you will get an official check to your score-sheet... should you complete all the games in one go there's a special (not so special, mind you) prize for you at the end... The mini-games are as fun as they are variable... previous years have seen a tomato trebuchet, a potato cannon, a water puzzle, an archery event... the list goes on... all extremely silly good times... At turns you'll come across little kids excitedly arguing about which turn is the correct one, grandparents calling for their wards, hipsters moving quickly away from each other as they cease their extremely public display of affection at your arrival and even a few 50 something married couples in the same state... there's just something about Warner Farm that brings out the happy in folk... When you've gotten tired of getting lost, have chapped lips from canoodling or have mastered the maze you head back to the main tent and collect your goodies - different from year to year but they always manage to be keepsakes that elicit a smile... In addition to the greatness of the maze pony and hay cart rides are on site for the kids beginning in October... They are closed for the season in November... when you're done with Mike's head to Sugarloaf Frostee for a bite and get to the top of Sugarloaf itself... the maze is a sight to behold from that far above... Go here and make delightful memories for you and yours...
