If you want to buy some, you should call ahead. For my first visit, I came by during their posted hours, and I read a sign to honk my horn to be helped. As Mr. Austin explained to me, he is around during the days/times posted, but he might working in one of their fields. (If he knows that you are going to visit, he'll plan to be in the area of the farm shop.) He was also kind enough to explain some basics about choosing meat for what I might want to cook. He was so helpful! I'd never bought meat directly from the source before, and I'd never set out to buy grass-fed beef before (but I've been getting more interested in knowing about food sources). Every weekday, I drive by the Austin's Farm on my way to work, and I can see how well the animals are kept, and how happy they are in their spacious fields. In a sense, it could seem morbid to see the animals that might end up on my table, but I'm actually glad to know that they are healthy cows who live good lives. And, I like knowing that my purchases directly help to keep a local farm family in business. Best of all, their food just tastes amazing!! I hope you'll stop by and give it a try!! (Or check their website for farmers' markets where they also sell their products.) Here's their info: Austin Brothers Valley Farm 270 West Street Belchertown, MA 01007 Open year round, or by appointment: 413-668-6843 Tuesday and Wednesday, 1:00 PM - 7:00 PM Thursday- Sunday, 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Closed Mondays http://www.austinsfarm.com

I LOVE THEIR STEAK TIPS OK, there, I said it, now it's out, and the whole world, or at least the part of it who read yelp, or at least the part of the part of it who read my reviews, knows it. Marinate them in a bit of lime and ginger, and grill them. DELICIOUS! They have fresh eggs too. They aren't those great little blue ones with the really bright yolks, but they are happy eggs, you can tell.

They also have a bunch of other goodies for sale in their farm store. That being said, BBQ! I very randomly stumbled upon this place while attempting to get lost in the middle of Massachusetts one day. And I stopped in and grabbed a frozen pie to go and heard about this amazing cook out they do every other Monday from like June through August? Maybe September? Gotta check the schedule anyway. So you can go online to their website, click on the Smokehouse Dinners, chose one of their meal plans ( I believe it's Ribs, Chicken, Sausage, .... and one more thing, let me check ... OMG! They changed the Menu!!! Now it's a choice between Ribs, Chicken, BRISKET! OR A TURKEY LEG!?!?! I have To Go BACK NOW!!!) and they come with a cube cut of Awesome homemade corn bread (the ones with the kernels still juicy in the bread!) slice of watermelon, and all you can drink Ice tea and Lemonade, and your choice of 2 sides. Mac and Cheese (good old how grandma use to make it style!) Corn on the cob (oh yes!) I think they had a celery salad and a potato salad maybe? But now they offer roasted butternut squash! I loved my ribs, they weren't as big as I'm use to but they were cooked perfectly. I can tell a lot of love went into the smoking process. My partner had the chicken, it was a 1/2 smoked chicken smoked to perfection as well. So, this place is just a real gem of a place. It's almost like even though you bought a $20 ticket to be there, it feels a hell of a lot more like your friendly neighbors sent you an invitation to their fun backyard BBQ. They had a local string band playing traditional Irish and American tunes. We were all under a canopy tent with picnic tables. We chilled for awhile listening to the music, meeting the locals, watching the sunset over the mountains and all their cows in the fields, just sippin on some cool iced tea and lemonades while they put the finishing touches on the food. I was kinda disappointed they didn't have someone ringing a triangle when the food was ready. And afterwards they had Barts Ice Cream selling small little cups of only 3 of their flavors, I think $4 a cup? It was a very small portion and only 3 flavors, but I guess we were lucky to have even that, It's just one person who has to drag a cart all the way behind the house. You can go inside the farm store and they have some baked goods and some ice cream sandwiches and other yummy things. They brought they're pony or donkey out to say hi to everyone. All their cows came right up to the fence and started eating the piles of corn husks and we got to feed them and pet them too. It was just such a great evening with good people and such a small town welcoming kindness that's getting harder and harder to find now a days. Love the place, love the food, love the people. Awesome!!!

When I called and left a hasty voice mail after not being able to speak with a live person about my issue, I was called back by an older woman and chastised for speaking too quickly in the voicemail. The woman made a point to lecture me on it instead of asking how she could help me when she returned my call. She spoke to me like I was a child and not an adult customer. She showed very little concern over my actual issue of where and why my flower delivery was unaccounted for. I've never experienced this before, anywhere, and I've worked in the customer service field for 20 years. The quality of their floral work is high, but I will not be giving them any future business, as other florists in the area behave much more professionally and I don't need the added drama of a business who doesn't understand how to keep customers from feeling like a burden.
