The security guard greeted us pleasantly and asked us to generate a ticket from the machine. We got our ticket and sat down and waited perhaps 15 minutes for our number to be called. I noticed that several people entered after us without a mask and the guard was very polite to them and provided them with masks. The representative who assisted was professional and was able to help. We were told that the Social Security card we were requesting would arrive within two weeks and were given a document to verify we had submitted the application. I was very impressed with the professionalism of everyone there. We were in and out in less than a half of an hour. However, we noticed as we left that the crowd in the waiting room was growing.

What a beautiful reinvention of the VFW in Fresh Pond! I used to participate in various activities that took place at the old VFW - an old, dirty looking, wood paneled, dimly lit hall. It didn't have much to recommend itself. My family recently rented out the hall/bar here to have a party. What a nice surprise when I walked in! Well lit, clean, new and roomy! The hall had tables that easily held the people attending (40?) for a sit-down meal that we brought with us. My parents provided a sound system and half the room was left open for a dance floor. The bartender that we had, Barbara (?) was awesome! She went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. The commercial kitchen that is available for use with hall rental is a great size. About a million degrees, and unfortunately the freezer was not on when we arrived so the dessert didn't make it (in a solid state) being stuck in the ice machine! Barbara later told me that there was a freezer behind the bar we could have used- next time! The bathrooms were well kept, and even with loud music and a couple kids running up and down the hall, nobody batted an eye at our presence. A great place, with plenty of parking for a party!

Moments later, without using a turn signal, he turns off Comm Ave. Officers should be beacons of motor safety. Not to abuse power. So after he sped to pass me, cut me off, then made the turn with no blinker, that's it. I blew my horn. THIS is where things got real creepy, real fast. Since he was only tooling around, and breaking a few traffic laws, the second I blew my horn, he IMMEDIATELY starts chasing me. He tries to stare me down as he is now neck and neck with my car. I never looked at him. Nothing. This wasn't good enough for him. He then got behind me and starts tailgating me. If I did something wrong, why not pull me over? Because he knew he was driving like a douche. Anyway, the creepy following tactic lasted all the way after the rotary at the BU Bridge. So while real crimes could've been going on Saturday morning in the Brookline area, rest assured, your tax dollars paid for an officer to follow me like a creep, tailgate me and disappear once we got into a different jurisdiction.

I wouldn't want to be in that area without a direct line to 911. I could understand T-Mobile Sidekicks, but REALLY! And they have no storage for cellphones -- I had to walk all the way back to Forest Hills and convince a convenience store clerk to hold it behind the counter. Even "The Price is Right" studios in Los Angeles holds onto your phones if you bring them into complex! The metal detectors were first-rate, and the x-ray machine was extremely accurate, but I would have preferred some of the people taking a second stroll through the machines. :( The court clerk was very pleasant, and dismissed my parking ticket within 30 seconds.
