Pretty fun volunteer work where you fill requests from prisoners around the country for books they want to read. Anyway, that's not why I'm reviewing this church.... As we were finishing up, the woman who runs the program said she wanted to take us on a tour of the church. My first thought, "I've seen my fair share of churches while traveling. I get it." But I go, so as not to be rude, and she walks us down a hallway in the basement, just a few feet from where we were packing books, and she opens up a short little gate and we walk into a tiny room. It's a burial site with four tombs: John Adams, Abigail Adams, John Quincy Adams and Louisa Catherine Adams! Apparently, it's the only place in the country where two dead presidents are buried together. And they are just a few stops on the red line away from most of us! We also went upstairs into the main area of the church, which was beautiful and intimate, and sat in the Adams pew. The church has been around since 1828. Check it out.

Thank you Weymouth for having the South Shore's worst intersection (Columbian Square) and for offering us Butts and Bets II and Jonathan the Master of Food. Thank you for having the best rubbish service ever (they take anything and everything). I also enjoy knowing that I can put anything outside of my house and know that it will be taken within minutes. Thank you to the Weymouth youths who smashed my pumpkins even though I was standing in the driveway. At least I don't have to throw them out myself. You would have had five stars if it wasn't for your overzealous school maintenance workers who decimate our decades-old grapevine twice in one year, just so the kids would be safe walking to school and free from ticks (because ticks apparently live grapes).

The JFK Federal Building has a few nice quirks to it like the build in benches that spout out of what look like ground level smoke stacks. A solo piece of outdoor art, Thermopylae by Dimitri Hadzi, adore the spot outside the entrance & is surrounded by a few more benches. Inside, the walls are lined with nice black & white photos of the 35th president & some of his most famous quotes. Abstract artworks does pop up in places you do not expected. This public building serves people with issues that have to involve the IRS & INS. In addition, this is my go to place when the American Red Cross has its blood drives. Plus it gives you access to the upper level of the tower which opens up some very nice views of the North End & City Hall Plaza. Another little bit of interest is a small monument outside that describes the site of the first phone call made by Alexander Graham Bell. Given a free moment, visiting the building shows a nice slice of US history.

Located in one of the toughest towns in Massachusetts, with a budget that should be at least doubled, and seriously understaffed this library delivers an incredible range of services. The collections are the best found in any local library of its size in the state and the historical collections are a treasure trove of Southeastern Massachusetts heritage matched only by larger facilities in Boston. Most outstanding is the quality of reference service delivered to the ever-changing needs of city residents. With a large transient population that has few other outlets for meaningful information the reference department has put together a collection and commitment to service that meets a huge level of need at minimal cost. How they do business could serve as a case study in a library school. A decade ago city residents led by the former director persevered and raised enough to renovate the early 20th century Carnegie building and give its collections a proper home. One would hope the city's residents value this gem in their midst.

WiFi, is serviceable though, managed to pull up what i needed for work and edit / execute without issue. Haven't tried playing much outside YouTube but that works with minimal buffer. Staff here is very kind and helpful if you need help with anything. LOTS of parking here. They're open Monday-Wednesday 9am-9pm, Thursdays 1pm-9pm, Friday & Saturday 9am-5pm, & Sunday closed.
