I went through the Brooklyn cruise terminal to board the Queen Mary 2. Getting to the terminal is fairly easy. On arrival there are people waiting to take your bag and you can immediately cross over the street to the terminal. There are beautiful views of the Statue of Liberty and the manhattan skyline. The terminal is used to dealing with masses of people and they keep the lines moving. I was impressed with how quick and efficient they are. read more

Sailed out of here on multiple occasions. Have been fortunate to be able to get on or off the ship and to or from my ride in no more than 1 hour. Once I made it from curb to cabin in 20 minutes! Have always found plenty of helpful staff should they be needed. read more

Easy to park here and we got in & out quick. It cost over $300 to park for the week which seems to be average pricing compared to other cruise ports I've been too. Seems steep but also cheaper than flights during peak seasons. read more

I cruised to and from this terminal. As a native New Yorker, it wasn't super easy to find. There needs to be more signs because it was a bit confusing to know exactly where to go. However, drop off wasn't so bad and once we got there, the staff were clear on where to go etc. the lines were backed up a bit and a bit slower then other ports but nothing crazy. My issue is with the way things went when we returned back from our cruise. The staff rushed you to move out the way and then when you are loading your things on the to car, they rush you, yell at you and one cursed at my dad. He told my dad who was picking me up to park at a certain spot. My greeted my husband and i and then we put our things in the trunk and he came rushing to curse at my dad and tell him to hurry up and move the car. My dad is in his 60s and pretty fit for his age so he wasn't moving slow or anything. This was completely uncalled for and unprofessional. I do not recommend this port for this reason and prefer to sail from Manhattan or Florida to avoid getting into it with the porters. read more

What an absolute SH!T show. It took us 2 hours to get through security. There are no restrooms once you get past the first point and no seating for anyone (elderly people were struggling on line). Kids were having breakdowns and the check in process was amateur hour. read more

I've sailed both into and out of, as well as and dropped off family and friends, at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal in the past few years. These are comments on the Terminal - not the cruise lines who use it. The terminal is hard to find; I have driven it myself and used taxi/ride-share services. Ports America should spend some money on "Terminal This Way" signs. The best thing I can say is that it's close to Manhattan. From the website: "The terminal is located in the Red Hook area of Brooklyn, one of the city's hotspots with restaurants, retailers, and artists just steps away from the terminal" This is extremely misleading. You will need a vehicle to get away from the port for just a cup of coffee. In general, the terminal workers are great. Upon your arrival, no matter a personal car or taxi/uber, the baggage handlers are helpful and plentiful. There are unformed personnel to direct you to where you need to be and there seems to be assistance for those with mobility issues. Embarking in or leaving from Brooklyn: The embarkation lounge is fine - each cruise company does things a little differently but I'm talking about the terminal not the check-in process. There is a tiny cafe for overpriced packaged snacks, water, soft drinks, and lousy coffee. The restrooms have always been clean in my experience. The free Wi-Fi is spotty at best. If you're looking for souvenirs or last minute convenience items you'll be out of luck. Disembarking or arriving by ship into Brooklyn is where things get messy, First, hope it's not raining. When it rains in NY cabs or ride-shares will be hard to find. Like all baggage halls it is vast and open. As a local, I would recommend booking transfers in advance, either with your cruise or privately. For those day-tripping (through-passengers), not taking a ships' tour, the ferry is a great way to get over to Manhattan. You can buy tickets at the dock which is steps away from where you get off the ship. It's a lovely ride over to Wall St and from there you can easily get to all the tourist sites. For those disembarking: this will take much longer than you anticipate. I've boarded and disembarked in terminals all over the world, Brooklyn is not the best. There is no fast lane for tourists who are just spending the day, your time in NY is limited and you're stuck in the same line as that family with 27 suitcases, a wheelchair, and a baby stroller. Also, there's no dedicated line for US citizens/permanent residents, spending the money on Global Entry does no good here. Unless someone is wheelchair bound there is no assistance with luggage for those less physically fit. Once you're through all that, there is a very narrow sidewalk where you and your 3000+ travel companions are exiting to hoping for a car. NYC is a fantastic port of call but Brooklyn Terminal should really up its game. Nothing says Welcome quite like the hassles we've encountered arriving there. read more

Sorry I posted the wrong port, I'm reviewing this time the correct review of Brooklyn terminal, My 1st cruise w MSC cruises was out of Manhattan near Hell kitchen, a beautiful terminal but my 2nd time I was surprised it was out of Brooklyn cruise terminal, only NCL cruise is still docking in Manhattan, it's definitely cost much more there that's why MSC got out n NCL charged higher price to dock there. The terminal doesn't look exciting at all, it looks like a military barrack that even the migrants had the audacity to reject it n demanded to return to the 4 stars hotel in Times Square. I don't want to take any more cruises out of this port, it was a good 40 minutes fr Times Square where we stayed at the Marriott Marquis, I'd rather pay more to go on NCL. My 1st time that I went to this terminal was w Princess cruises, omg i barely escaped the flood, the entire terminal was flooded along w the tunnel, it was Sandy hurricane, I had ESP n changed my cruise to 1 week earlier n made it alive outta there. 3 stars might be generous because to get there you'd have to go through a lot of bad neighborhood n who knows, people can get assaulted at intersections if the red light last too long for the crooks n gang to rob you I read about this n now w crime rampant in NYC, it can happen again. read more

We took an Uber from our hotel to the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal. The terminal was opened in 2006 and is also known as the Red Hook terminal because it is located in Brooklyn's Red Hook neighborhood. Approximately 50 ships and over 250, 000 passengers use this terminal each year. There is ample parking for a fee available at the port. There are two bathrooms before going thru security plus several after security. There are porters and red caps available to assist with your luggage. There is no wi-fi available at the terminal. I always have to have wheelchair assistance to board the Queen Mary 2. We are so impressed with the attention that the staff of Intercruises pay to those individuals needing assistance. We checked in and within a short period of time, we were being whisked away thru security to our cabin on the QM2. read more

Clean, organized, and easy to get through the process of getting on our cruise ship. The staff is very friendly and upbeat. I must say that I had reservations about the limited bathrooms inside. There were only 2. Not only were they clean. The hard working cleaning lady stationed herself outside these 2 bathrooms and cleaned them often. I would like to give her a shout out. I don't know her name though. Thank you. I boarded the Princess Enchanted on Saturday, October 22, 2022. It was one of the easiest boardings ever on to a cruise. We have been to several cruise terminals. Bravo, Princess. When we disembarked, the following Saturday, we needed to get to JFK. We were advised to save $ and get a taxi. To do this you need to get in the taxi line. There was a single man in front of us. I asked him if he wanted to share the cab and split the fare. He said yes. It cost us both $40. We both of course added a nice tip as well. P.S. Once we boarded our ship & began exploring, I was just over the moon to see the Statue of Liberty. TERRIBLE CRUISE PORT. CHAOS. We were greeted with CHAOS when trying to get on the ship for embarkation. This was the first example of no communication within MSC. Even though we arrived to check in, and we were told this wasn't a problem, somehow they "ran out of numbers" to provide during the check in process. We were told to "sit and wait until all numbers were called". While we were doing this, other individuals that checked in after all 13 of us, didn't follow directions set by staff and weren't stopped by MSC staff to be let onboard. MSC representatives let them cut the line and go ahead of the people like us who listened to instructions and waited as instructed. Older members of my party were pushed and almost trampled over, a huge safety concern and hardship. The lack of leadership and accountability from MSC and staff within this situation is unacceptable. read more

Cruise terminal venue that was also air conditioned to host the WhiskyX tasting event! Got a nice buzz on while meandering through the rows of whisky companies on hand displaying their tasty concoctions while offering unlimited samples. For a cruise terminal this was transformed into a nifty facility to host the event, Staff at entrance was polite, the AC was cranked up and at a comfortable level, and even the bathrooms were pretty clean. Nice views of the skyline across the water where the food trucks were set up. A huge hike to get to from Manhattan, and no subway really close by, so if heading here grab an Uber or a cab. The other option from the closest subway is a bus. Meh. read more

my wife and I took a cruise out of Manhattan's cruise terminal with Norwegian it was cut short by two full day's sitting in the Hudson Bay in September of 2023 after the captain stated we would be disembarking at pier! after sitting in bay all stores were closed.Norwegian offer 10 percent off a future cruise .which I believe since two days were lost doing nothing we should have been offer 30 percent for our trouble until they come back with a better offer I will never cruise with Norwegian again read more

New, clean and friendly...............this spot is great. There are even souvenirs from your trip to Brooklyn. Worlds ahead of the Manhattan terminal. They were organized, there were bathrooms, seating and general hellpfulness. NYC was one of our ports of call on our cruise a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, the ship docked here instead of closer to Manhattan. I read the 3 other reviews for Brooklyn Cruise Terminal, and I wonder if I was at the same terminal they were at. I did not see any gift shop for purchasing those Brooklyn souvenirs. Maybe it was closed for the season? I did not like this terminal at all. Meh, I've experienced better. read more

If you disembark on a Monday morning, be aware that there are NO taxis available. Car service, UBER, LYFT, etc appeared to be a mess too. No one who makes money by driving wants to drive to the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal on a Monday morning to take a fare when there are many more lucrative options. We took the ferry and transferred on the ferry system to get to 34th street in Manhattan to get a cab to our hotel. Fortunately, the Port Authority policeman was helpful in providing directions. The terminal does not have any good options for getting to Manhattan independently. Plan ahead for disembarkation!! read more

There is no place like home, repeat after me, 3 times. This cruise terminal is in Brooklyn, NY. I didn't have to drive there, l even got to sleep late. And the weather was funky as all get out. I made breakfast, played with the animals and still got there by 3:25 PM ans in less than 10 minutes l was on the ship. Everything runs smoothly here. From the time l got out if the cab, handled the baggage drop off, to all the jokes shared as my carry on luggage was checked .This place is a very convenient addition to the wonderful borough of Brooklyn. this terminal is clean and air conditioned! plenty of parking near by and a fee for parking lot for any of those with a car. it's a great place to tour the ships for fleet week. if you're walking, enter at bowne street for a shorter walk to the terminal. I didn't give it 5 stars because if you don't have a car the only way to get here is train to the bus, so ultimately by bus. and if you are cruising with all that luggage... you gotta bit of a walk. otherwise catch a cab, black car what ever to get here, they can drive right up just like at the city's cruise port. read more

I will say this is a nice looking cruise terminal. It's quite large and well maintained. I was here for a Super Bowl event, not a cruise, and found it to be a great facility. Plenty of parking and great views from the parking lot. It's located a few blocks from the BQE and the battery Tunnel. read more

Sure being in NYC is great, but there is something about Brooklyn that is even better. The terminal is fairly new and couldn't be any closer to Manhattan if it tried; the battery tunnel is literally 2 minutes away by car. Do not attempt to walk through the main entrance of the terminal to get to the ship with luggage, it's a fairly long walk if you are hauling any kind of baggage (unless you have those dreamy easily wheeled bags in which I would suggest walking everywhere with). Parking in the terminal is abundant, you won't find any madness or lack of spots ever. You won't pay for parking until you return from your trip so put your receipt in the car to avoid losing it. Check-in your luggage in front of the terminal before pulling into the parking lot, try not to leave your insulin, passports, or engagement rings in your bags (I cannot tell you how often this happens). When you enter the terminal, you will see a giant sign of Brooklyn (picture worthy) and a small gift shop area of everything Brooklyn in case you didn't get a chance to venture our beautiful borough. The check-in area is so large it never seems crowded, there are always more than enough seats available for all. While checking-in take notice of the stained glass in the lobby, it's indescribably beautiful, ask someone for the history behind it if you are interested (I could write a review of that alone). Lastly, when you get off the cruise be sure to visit the bathroom. Never have I ever seen so much black and white tile, the designers goal was definitely to make others dizzy and keep those who take acid away. Bon Voyage everyone... read more
