I met my son up in NY and we stayed in this hotel. It is a pretty cool place and it is in a decent location. My son arrived early and the guy at the desk told him he would be able to check in by 1 pm but it ended up being after 3. Which was an aggravation since he took the red eye from the West Coast. The lobby has LOUD music playing so it is hard to just hang out there but the sound proofing must be decent because I did not hear it anywhere else. Shinny bar. Not so shinny staff. I went to the bar/restaurant for a few drinks. A few seconds after my 4th drink, a woman bumped into me and spilled half on me. A rude woman who did little to correct her mistake. Now I'm wet. I went to the bar to ask if they'd replace the drink. The bartender immediately said "no go ask the manager." Well alrighty! I find the manager and he proceeds to re-explain the situation as "so you want us to buy you a drink? It's not our fault or responsibility." We're adults. I never placed blame. A peculiar thing to say considering I just bought the drink and I'm in your establishment. Felt pretty short tbh. Not sure why I was expecting a different tone. He eventually just offers me a shot. I don't particularly like shots so I kindly slid the remainder of the spilled drink and declined the shot, suggesting that Managment show the next customer a little more grace and respect in tone. Obviously an establishment isn't responsible for spilled drinks and don't have to be kind at all. I get that. But I guess that's what separates a great establishment from a mediocre one just selling drinks and not an experience. Good luck to them. read more

This review is based on a guest of a guest experience and not as my personal stay at the hotel. I attended an event hosted in the bar area fittingly named The Lobby. Service was friendly and attentive. They served fries, ribs, chicken wings, olives etc. Our food was pre-ordered by out hosts and we had wine. Everything we had was very good , I'd go back to the bar for cocktails and the snacks. I don't think you have to be a guest of the hotel to dine at the bar . The bar area is dimly lit , so a nice place for a casual or semi intimate meet up. Our host did have the second part of the event in their suite so I got a chance to see what the rooms looked like. Spacious, clean and they had a nice view. Our hosts had been at the hotel for 4 days and were happy with the experience and service they received. read more

I had a fantastic stay at the Ace Hotel - Brooklyn. It is super well situated on the A/C lines in Brooklyn, so access to JFK and Manhattan is super straightforward. All of the staff at Ace were kind, welcoming, and incredibly helpful with my questions. The vibe of the hotel was very hipster (coworking in the lobby, DJs at night in the lobby), which made for a unique experience. The rooms, while smaller, were very well appointed and comfortable. The products in the bathroom were lovely, the bed/pillows were very comfortable. If I have the opportunity to stay in Brooklyn again, Ace will be at the top of my list for sure! read more

Stayed here for a wedding and really enjoyed ourselves at the Ace. Good location with easy access to transportation. Close enough to amenities, restaurants, and shops. The hotel itself is very modern and definitely wants to be cool. Everything hinges on being weirdly unique or just a little too hip, but it's nice nonetheless. The lounge area is a really nice gathering spot. Plenty of seating, live music at times, good food and good cocktails. We found ourselves hanging out there at the end of each day with a few drinks and munchies. Rooms themselves are good. Very urban/industrial, albeit it a little sparse. There's not a lot of storage spaces so your stuff is just out. No closets or cabinets to unpack so hope you like living out of your suitcase. There were some hangers and the steamer was a nice touch, but I like to take all my stuff out and stow my luggage away. Bathroom was well appointed but the shower was either cold or scalding hot - had to really finesse things to get the right temp. Loved the oversized steel case windows with the view of Brooklyn. Overall, it's a nice place to stay. Staff was pleasant. Service was efficient. Everything was clean. Very much that doing the things to be cool kind of place, if you like that. read more

The service and the staff at both the front desk and the bar were wonderful. I found the hotel to be slightly cold and dark. The beds were comfortable and it seemed slightly nicer than maybe a Moxy hotel. When we entered the lobby at 11 PM the noise was overwhelming, perhaps if we were in our 30s we wouldn't feel that way. Luckily there was no sound in our rooms. We were at the hotel for an event. Of course we were in walking distance of many coffee, shops, and restaurants so it was a good location. read more

Hotel was ok nothing to write home about. The pillows are very flat , you have to take the elevator down if you order food they won't send it up or bring it up. They have a party on the weekends that seems like a good time but if you're looking for luxury this isn't the place. read more

Great, welcoming and helpful staff. As soon as you enter the building there is a cool vibe - open lobby, lots of space to hang out, community table/work space and swanky bar. Food at the restaurant was very good and our server was very friendly. The rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. Industrial-feel with large, beautiful windows. Ace Hotel *sigh* I had high expectations for this one. I know that NYC hotels are hit or miss at times and Brooklyn is still on the rise. Being in town for one night to attend a concert nearby, I was not trying to break the bank but also wanted decent accommodations. Upon arrival I was able to check in early. The lobby is very busy but well appointed and clean. Beyond the lobby, the hotel leaves much to be desired. The first room that they put me in had a broken lock and at the dead end of the corridor. I immediately went back to the front desk and asked for a new room. As a solo traveler it made me uncomfortable (in addition to the fact that the agent announced my room number out loud which is soooo not safe). Second room was decent. The decor was giving old school hotel vibes. Can't put my finger on what era. Bed was amazingly comfortable I can't lie. The side of the building (see photo) that I was one shook off and on. I believe that it was coming from the trains. Ima city girl so it didn't matter much. Keep in mind when booking if that kind of thing bothers you. It did what it needed to do for one night. I've stayed at the ace hotel in Toronto and loved it so I was so happy to visit this location. The lobby bar is such a good vibe. It's a really nice spot for drinks whether it's with friends, on a date, with a coworker, etc. The drinks are pretty strong and average New York prices. I didn't have the food but my friend did and really enjoyed the meatballs. They usually have a DJ or good music playing on the weekends. read more

The newest Ace property, located in Downtown Brooklyn. Less chaotic than the Midtown property, but with all the same effortless charm. Ace properties have a laid back, minimalist luxury vibe. The location was convenient: steps from the G, A/C/E, and 123 train lines, and a short drive to lower Manhattan. Our top floor "Medium Skyline Room" offered no view except into the apartment complex across the street. The room itself was stylish and nicely furnished though, with a comfortable bed, plush couch, a reading chair, and a desk area. The sound proofing needs improvement; we could hear our neighbors conversations, TV, and hairdryer. The train line underneath the building is also audible even on higher floors, and caused the room to gently vibrate. We never got washcloths lol. When housekeeping arrived on our second day, we asked for wash cloths, thinking they had been skipped in our room by accident. Nope, they just did not have them. We stayed 4 nights, and while it was not especially great or terrible, we will not stay here again. The price was right, but for just a little bit more, you can do much better in NYC. The icing on the cake was attempting to get photo booth pix on our way out, only to have our money eaten by the machine (it was out of order). read more

I have stayed in a number of hotels, especially in NYC but no one tops the ACE in Brooklyn! This is where all the cool kids are haha! Yes, including me! The location is amazing first off and the hotel is extremely modern and up to date. This isn't just a hotel this is an experience. The hotel really has that special Brooklyn feeling. The customer service is amazing! The staff is friendly, helpful and overall a great time. The room is a good size for a NYC Hotel and has some fun views as well. The hotel has an art installation that changes frequently which was really cool to see. The bar at night is when the hotel really comes alive! They have a live DJ that spins tones all night and also some amazing guest djs also. The drinks are delicious and the food at the restaurant next door was perfection. I came for Black Girl Viynal night and baby a time it was. One the ladies played some tunes using only vunyals and they did not disappoint at all. The drinks at the bar were done so good. I had my favorite of course prosecco but the expresso Martini was BABY the BOMB.COM. They have good also you can purchase the fries were good. The atmosphere was really nice. read more

This hotel listed as 4 stars but I don't feel like it. The lobby always has some parties going on or some programing booth camp ? It is very loud and noise, so I don't think this is kids friendly in my opinion which we had our toddler with us. The location is great next to the subway . But the hotel charged us about $80 from three mini bar in our room which we DID NOT eat anything from the mini bar, and didn't notice us at all. I feel like the ppl/staff are dishonest try to charge ppl money and see who will not check the credit card transactions I emailed the customer service about the bill and they sent me a receipt with no details and I tried to communicate with them and they ghosted me. Love the Ace experience. As is in Manhattan, it is not out of place to find a guitar in your room (don't expect it to be in tune) and a record player. The mini / snack bar is always fun, as is the rest of the decor. The beds are comfortable, the blinds do black out most of the morning light, and the bathroom has room to put your things down. Heck, the room itself is much bigger than you would get in Manhattan. Check in and check out is easy though I wish they had valet service for your car. There is a discount available at iPark, but they are not the most friendly place in the world. Parking overnight? Let me see your hotel reservation. At least there are other garages in the area too. I guess for Brooklyn this is better than most areas. Attached for food is As You Are which is great. The bar area and the common lobby is spacious though it can get weird at night. It seems people come here, well, I'm not sure for whatever reason, and though they don't stay in the hotel they do provide entertainment of sorts if you are doing a late night unwind on a Saturday night. read more

It pains me to write this cause it's been a central meeting spot for friends & family. Went there this morning to drink coffee & prep for a meeting that I had around the corner from the hotel early Monday morning. While I was drinking coffee, one of staff came over questioned the way I was sitting with my legs crossed. Not sure why that should concern him. I thoroughly enjoyed my recent stay at the Ace as I always do (there was that one time in Seattle that we won't talk about). It was my first time at the newish Ace in Brooklyn and I was incredibly impressed with all the things: location, room size, amenities and friendly fabulous staff (the Ace hires the best people across the board, across the country!) And we all know that signature Ace coolness from the santal candles burning to the amber glow of reception and bar that makes you feel like you're entering a sepia print of a tony affair. I am obsessed with their aesthetic. This carries over to the rooms, which have so many nice touches. Besides it being an impressive size, it has a huge window... hello, city views (we had a basic king room, no upgrades, just so you know I'm not going on about a suite or anything). I love their products, reasonably priced mini bar, and that bed was very comfortable with crisp sheets. Location: you're near it all: subways, eateries and coffee shops. Black Seed bagels are literally next door and there's a Starbucks one block down. You're walking distance to Barclays and Smith Street awesomeness. I adore this hotel so much. I'd be hard-pressed to stay elsewhere when in Brooklyn. Rates are competitive for the area (for the same price, I once stayed a dreary Sheraton nearby). read more

The hotel looks like a hole in the wall walking past, but when you come in it is so cute! It's boutiqueish and very dim. If you have issues with dim specs the lobby, work stations, and seating spaces will be a hard adjustment. The rooms are very nicely decorated, such a rustic historical feel. Comfortable bedding and I loved the towels. You can hear people in the hallways, so it was a bit noisy at some points in the early evening. One thing that's odd is there is no coffee in the room. There is hot tea you can purchase and a pot to make hot water. I am a coffee drinker, and don't care too much for Starbucks. But there is one across the street. Overall a very nice space. read more

Wow wow wow. The new Ace Hotel is GORG. I was blown away by how beautiful the interior is. Especially for folks who live or are familiar with this neighborhood, this hotel is like a breath of fresh air on a corner that could really use some love. The Ace franchise really ran with the potential of this space and created a swanky and sophisticated neighborhood cocktail lounge.The Lobby bar feels super luxe with a ton of plush seating available. You can also reserve the bar couches in advance. Prices are high at $16/$17, but you get the atmosphere you expect when you pay a premium. I ordered the Magi Lune with vodka, plum, pear eau-de-vie, hazelnut liqueur. It was more delicious than I thought it'd be and very well balanced. Overall, the Ace far exceeded my expectations. If you have friends or family visiting, this is definitely the hotel I would recommend in the area. read more

I've been coming here a few times and I love the convenience of everything around. Some hotels you can tell it's a high turnover of staff but I literally see the same faces especially when I check in later at night. Same experience very friendly and I am so picky and big with that. Rooms are New York boutique hotel rooms unless you pick other spots. Which use to bother me but like I mentioned it's the ease of convenience around me. Oh the bartender and the drinks, I can't believe I forgot that. But I'm so picky with French 75 and they make em very well there. Dog friendly so that's a plus as well. Ace Hotel Brooklyn felt more like a machine than a place meant for people. I've always sought out hotels with soul--places that understand the sacredness of travel, the unexpected turns, the beauty of real hospitality. But Ace? It was cold, rigid, and indifferent. Eight days before my trip, my plans changed. My adult daughters were coming with me, and I needed to either change my room or book a second one. I called and called--twice a day, every day. I tried. I really tried. But nothing opened up. I wasn't asking for a handout--I was ready to spend more. But I was met with silence, hang-ups (12 times the front desk picked up and immediately disconnected), and a sea of "sorry, there's nothing we can do." No manager returned my calls. When I finally showed up in person, vulnerable and exhausted, I explained everything. Still--no empathy, no flexibility, no refund. Just a rehearsed line about "corporate policy." I lost over $3,000. But more than that, I lost respect for a brand that once promised heart and soul. I walked down the street to 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge and was embraced by kindness. Their staff listened. Smiled. I feel this is deceptive, as there is no resort, and only a gym. I believe there should be more truth in advertising about the actual fee. Minor annoyances, but my stay here was great. Nice rooms, comfy beds, no extraneous noise. The lobby, starting in the evenings, has BLASTING music. You cannot hear yourself think, nevermind have real conversations over a drink. I'm really not old enough to feel like this was a me problem. My other minor complaint was in joining the reception the hotel hosted on our last day there. The card keys allow access via the elevator to your specific floor only and apparently do not work to get to common use floors like the event spaces on the second floor. We had numerous folks riding up and down the elevators trying to get it to stop at floor 2 before we finally asked and were told to use a different elevator in an entirely different location. Annoying, but everything else went really well, so I didn't knock off a star for this. Staff were super nice and helpful as well! read more

Ace Hotel is TOP TIER. We came to NY for a concert at the Barclay Center and wanted to stay somewhere within walking distance. I'm so glad we chose this place. We were greeted with a smile by the front desk staff and actually felt like they wanted us there. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, with plenty of space to hang out and soak up some city vibes. Our room was lovely! The bed was comfy, and the sofa and chair added just the right amount of seating. We had breakfast at the restaurant and it was delicious. We were also in walking distance of TONS of restaurants and shopping. I would definitely recommend staying here. When we checked out the staff was just as friendly, they even provided us transportation to the airport for much cheaper than Uber. Keep up the great work Ace Hotel. Great hotel, shady practices. My company booked the reservation for me while visiting for a convention. Upon check in they asked for a credit card on file for a REFUNDABLE security deposit. A week later, I was charged $140 for 4 nights on a card they didn't have permission to charge. I was never told about a "Destination Fee". When checking in I was never told about the $20 credit I got for the restaurant either. Upon check out, I was never told I would be charged $140 extra for my already paid for stay. The charge is for WiFi, tv usage, and the gym. Imagine that, putting a tv in your room and charging you $35 a day to watch it. Wild. Too bad they have shady practices, it's a nice stay. read more

The location is why I picked the hotel - very close to so many subway lines - A, C, G, 2, 3, 4, 5, B, D, N, Q, R, W...you can get anywhere from the hotel. The hotel couldn't be cooler - the lobby, the check in desk, the restaurant in the lobby, the rooms... We had a few fancy drinks in the lobby bar just because it was such a cool space. My stay at The Ace Hotel in Boerum Hill was above and beyond a delight. My apartment had a pipe burst and Serenity and I needed to find somewhere to stay until we could go home. We arrived just before 630am and everyone was wonderful to us. Serenity was spoiled and made a fuss over, and as you can see from the photos she was living her best, most authentic life and didn't want to leave. The room was gorgeous and comfortable. The Lobby Bar makes a perfect cocktail, and the art installation in the lobby was thoughtful and evocative. I appreciate that the entire staff gave us an oasis in a very stressful two days. Highly recommend here and I hope to stay again under much happier circumstances! read more

Amazing stay! My colleagues and I were in NY for business. Staying in Brooklyn (which we never do) was closer to our job. The public space were lovely and well decorated. Plenty of seating in the lobby and bar area. Everyone was so friendly! From the front desk to the housekeeping crew. The rooms are big (well, bigger than the hotel rooms we have stayed in Manhattan). Comfy bed, a large couch and chair to stretch out on. Great central Air Large windows for sunny days. Quiet rooms (though you can sometimes hear the subway). Lots of restaurants and coffee shops in the neighborhood, plus a Whole Food and Trader Joe's close by. (Though not much room in the fridge provided for my coconut water). If we are ever working in this area again, this hotel will be our landing spot! read more

We loved the Ace Hotel Brooklyn for a three night stay. Incredibly friendly staff from the front desk, bartenders to housekeeping. You simply can't ask for better service and the rooms are comfortable and charming. My one complaint is that when you pay the up charge for a skyline view room, it doesn't mean you get a skyline view, only a room on the 10th floor or higher. That's bogus. A skyline view should mean you see the skyline, not be in the shadow of the apartment next door. They gave me a discount when I asked about the promised view we clearly didn't get. "Our building has two sides". We'll stay there again but won't fall for the skyline view bait and switch. Do better, Ace. read more

I love this hotel for the design and the lobby bar. The restaurant is pretty great too. Unfortunately, I stayed for the first time this weekend and the bathroom had an awful smell. We asked to change rooms and they were super accommodating and helpful and thought the smell was less offensive in the second room it definitely creeped in a bit. I believe it's something with the pipes. This was on the 5th and 6th floors. This is not an experience I would recommend until that fix the smell issue. read more
