    $7.99 for a big sandwich!

Nice place to grab a sandwich and sit by the water at Charlotte Beach a couple of blocks away. Market was clean, had a great assortment of food and beverages. The butcher was friendly and made a great sandwich with fresh meat and veggies. You pick out your roll at a nearby display. $7.99 for a hearty sandwich! Will definitely come back again when I'm in the area.

    $5.69 for 18 eggs!!!

This supermarket is overpriced. Red and Green peppers go for $5+ a pound. Eggs $5+. Prices are just ridiculous. They don't give out plastic bags and they sell you their own for $2! It used to be .69cents. This owner is the greediest person I've ever met in my life. I would rather walk to any other supermarket than to give these thieves anymore of my money.

I'm extremely excited for the opening of this supermarket! The selection is great with a wide variety of gluten free products, fresh produce, cleaning and house products, basic and fancy beers.... The fresh deli counter looks pretty yummy. It's very clean and organized inside and looking for products is a breeze. They have a weekly gazette which features discounts and specials. Compared to Food Bazar a few blocks over they are much smaller but their selection for organic and specialty foods and products is much more appealing. However their fish and seafood section is incomparable to Food Bazar. I hope this new addition to the neighborhood will keep its great prices and selection for years to come.

I love go grocery shopping in the morning. This market looks clean and has tons of food. My uncle wanted to buy a specific instance coffee for his trip coming and the manager was very friendly and helpful.

I did the granola, almond butter, and blueberries. I also added protein powder to the base for an extra cost but this made the bowl more filling. I love how the acai is blended when you order it rather than being scooped from a tub. You can taste the difference as the acai flavor comes through stronger. The addition of coconut yogurt brings a tang and a creaminess to the earthy base. Their almond butter is ground fresh from the machine which gives it a crunchy and toasted flavor. The granola is a highlight for me. It has a generous blend of nuts, seeds, and dried fruit which bring a variety of textures with each bite. WOULD I GO BACK? Absolutely! I think this is one of the best acai bowls in the city.

It's a little hard to miss, however you can see it once you've entered the shopping center. Family owned and operated since 1987. Think of Whole Foods, much less busy, not a whole lot of rushing (which is a good thing) and you take your time to browse around the smaller store. The quiet and calm was cool, for a Thursday evening, not too shabby. We came across a lot of products we haven't seen before. Great options from a vast majority of gluten free to bring your own containers for pasta to help reduce waste. Plenty of signs to look at and read what we can do to be proactive with our bodies, lifestyle and the environment. I loved knowing this was a smaller scale. We accidentally forgot our reusable bags, however bought a new MOM'S insulated bag. Until next time, we will be back!

The produce and bakery café greet you when you enter. Immediately my eyes were drawn to the baked goods, including Kouign Amann, a traditional Breton Kouign Amann, a sweet pastry I never heard of before that apparently is all about the butter, and Cardamom Buns, one of my all time favorites. Opting for just a Cardamom Bun this time, I looked for an attendant to help get me one. When one appeared, he mentioned he wasn't able to heat it up, which was OK for me - planned on gobbling it up after paying. On the whole the store, only on street level, was easy to maneuver. When walking through the rest of the store, not sure how much of a smaller, curated selection they have, but did not see a cheesemonger, butcher, or fresh seafood set like in regular stores. That being said, there was no line for checking out. Immediately started eating the Cardamom Bun - which was baked either in the morning or day before. Given it wasn't that fresh, it really should have been discounted. Down the street from the crowded shops at Union Square, this East Village/StuyTown E. 14th block has become another location in town with the retail winning Trifecta of where Manhattanites like to shop: Trader Joe's, Target, and (of course) Whole Foods!
