This place stole $2,400 from my daughter and her fiancé that were traveling home back to Florida from Indiana after Christmas. They insisted on a $1,000 deposit with a $1,400 balance to be paid at pick up when the job was completed. 10 days after leaving the car there, they were told the car was ready to be picked up at 6:00pm on a Sat. At 11:30 that eve they were still sitting in the lot waiting then the place closed! After getting a hotel, they picked the car up the next day only to drive it for 10 mins when the transmission failed. Again. Not to mention the oil light was on, the tire pressure light and engine light as well. They refuse to refund they're money and the car was towed back hopefully to be repaired correctly this time. I'm hoping these people aren't thieves and will make this right for these young adults. If not, it's going to get nasty. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would! Do not give this establishment your hard earned cash. They are unprofessional and unworthy of one single penny! We got a transmission replaced here and literally 3 days later it died!!!! When I called about it the owner started get tongue tied and then all of a sudden I am someone else that knows nothing about cars. He clearly because he has anger management issues. Thankfully, we were able to get our car fixed correctly at a reputable shop and haven't any more transmission issues. Please save yourself the time, money and frustration and find another place. If you seen this Shop on Craigslist advertising they Specialize is fixing Honda's and Acura's transmission for the low with a year warranty, don't be fooled like me. Brooks Automotive is a horrible shop to bring your car to for transmission repairs. I been dealing will David( The Shop Manager or Owner) for a year now and my car still not ready. He dont answer his cell phone, Under staff, and really not trustworthy. The stories I have read on this shop are horrible. I wish I did my research before paying this guy. 1.David aka the owner.. he needs to take some customer service course and learn how to deal with his customers. 2. He lacks courtesy.. I dropped my Vehicle to be repaired , I never got any update.. every time I called the shop to inquire about my vehicle he gave me the same answer.. " we are working on it.. the mechanic should be done in 2hrs or so." it took over a month for me to get my vehicle back... . 3. He's mechanic should be the manager he's more level head than Dave.. 4. I won't recommend his shop to anyone.... 5. I spent almost $1000...sucks for I had to wait for almost a month to get my vehicle back. Advise to the business/Management. After initially brought car to rebuild transmission in May 2018, I had to bring back twice shortly afterward since the check engine light on.. the code reads torque converter ... I was not gonna go back there but they have a warranty of 1 year unlimited mileage so I went against my first thought but it was still under warranty so I said what can go wrong... big mistake ... I took back car in Nov 2018 since car still had torque conv code & delay half a second when moving off & also change rough..the guy said it would be a few days before they can get to it... it took 19 days before I got it back & and cost me 3 weeks of car rental.. a couple of weeks later, trans went out and had to tow twice since trans went out..its Christmas and I had to tow car to another trans shop since I will not go back to that place... they are terrible ...nightmare with them... read more

If there was a minus star it still wouldn't be low enough to reflect the unprofessional, disgusting, disrespectful and ignorant behavior displayed by this so called business. They may as well be doing business out of a barn. I can't even say I received bad customer service, I don't think they know what SERVING a customer means. They acted like they were doing me a favor instead of performing a service that I am PAYING for and paying a substantial amount of money at that. They had my car for over a week before actually beginning the work. Then they stopped answering the phone when I called to inquire when the work would be completed. They then charged me more money than what was quoted because of additional work THEY caused. Instead of speaking to me personally, he hid inside and had his girl handle his business. I had the car towed to Brooks Auto after speaking with them. Very few shops were open after 3, at the time, and my normal shop meant a hefty tow bill. Got a 10 second diagnosis which shocked me because it was a recent repair. However, I seemingly had to get it done unfortunately. They couldn't do it that day despite phone assurancee which meant no car for the weekend. They stated it was better to get a longer warrantied part. We discussed a price as I didn't want to go over $300 which was above average for the repair. It didn't make sense beyond that. I've never paid over $260ish for the job from anyone anywhere on any vehicle in 20+ years. Got a call on Mon and was prepared to pay and get over there to collect it. I only had one key at the time and they were about to close. I didn't want it sitting unlocked with no one there. My jaw dropped, flopped, cracked, then fell apart. WTF@!:;?&@( did he just say??? I promise you people, if I didn't feel like it could go south and result in a nasty battle, I would have fought it and I really was concerned about collateral damage. Did they have the part flown in from Italy on the redeye? MY GOD!!! Why??I shared my disappointment very kindly because we did discuss it. I got a tiny reduction (which did not change the sting), and I was fed lots of BS as to why. It was my fault for not putting in writing, on the document they had me complete when I brought the car in, that we discussed a price and a stop gap. I never expected the number that came over the phone line. I trusted our conversation. At that point, I just needed to get it to prevent other issues. I believe very much that they took advantage of me believing me to be unwitting. If I published the year, make, model, and repair, they'd be hard pressed to explain how they saw fit to rip off a customer with that kind off price. I can only guess that they assume certain folks are idiots and it made them comfortable which means their nature is to take advantage of people and exploit possible naivety. Alternatively, they could be making up for the losses by charging more on current repairs by tripling the prices. Either way it's a shoddy way of doing business and will inevitably cost them business. The kicker is, it didn't even correct the issue which was readily apparent by my normal technician after explaining the same issue. 0/5 stars. My transmission failed in Woodstock Georgia. I called Brookes Automotive Transmissions for Less LLC to secure a transmission repair. We left the car there along with a $1350 deposit, rented a car and drove home. Friday, January 3rd I called to check the transmission repair status in the afternoon. I was assured the car repair would be finished the next day, at 6pm Saturday. We reserved a rental car and drove to Brookes, arriving at 5:30PM. We were told the repair would take another 2 hours, so we went to grab a bite to eat and return at 7:30. At 7:30 we were told it would be a little while longer, assured it would that evening. At this time I had to extend our Alamo car rental, adding $50 to the rental agreement. I sat in the parking lot with my dog as the lights turned off and the establishment closed, my fiancé James had gone into the building to see if there was any actual repair happening. By 9:30PM I was growing restless. By 10:30PM I was exhausted, and James was assured by an employee named David and another employee it would be finished soon. At 11 o'clock I realized the car would not be done in any reasonable time, and made a reservation at a local pet friendly hotel for the night, costing $80. While I settled at the hotel James picked up the keys from Brookes, paid the remaining $1450 under the assumption the car was repaired. Picking up the keys at midnight meant wouldn't have to wait until 9AM Sunday when they reopened. David assured James that the car was finished and that he had driven it for 30 miles to make sure there were no problems. He said that any unusual sounds were from the tires being newly rotated, and the transmission 'relearning' how to drive with the car. At 7:30 the following morning we picked the car up at Brookes and immediately noticed unusual sounds, the front driver side tire sensor on, and the oil warning light on. Not wanting to waste any more time or pay any more rental car extensions or penalties, we made way to the airport to return our rental. The airport was 35 miles away. James filled the gas tank for the rental, and my car then 'took it easy' in the car while following myself driving rental, not going over 70 MPH. We dropped the rental off and hit the highway, making it 4 miles before the transmission failed in the middle of the highway. I coasted off of the highway onto the side of the road. I called Brookes 4 times and left messages, they were all unreturned although they are advertised to be open 9-7:30 Monday-Sunday. We had to call a 12$ Uber to take James back to the airport to rent another car for $24. I waited on the side of the road for a $100 tow back to Brookes to drop the car off. After waiting 2 hours for the tow, we were told there was a delay so we drove to Brookes to reclaim the $1450 because from the beginning it was apparent the job has not been completed, and the $100 tow fee which would have not been necessary if the car had been repaired correctly. Arriving at Brookes, the doors were locked and the business appeared to be closed. I made one final attempt at phone contact at 12:45 and David answered the phone. I told him what had happened, asked for reimbursement for the tow and the $1450 due to the fact the car had not been finished, to be paid in full when the job had been completed. I was told 'We don't return no money but we'll fix it'. I repeated that we would not be leaving the state without the $1450 and the $100 tow fee because the job had NOT been completed as he stated, and I broke down in the middle of the highway and that we could have been seriously injured. All of this time not mentioning the hotel, rental car, Uber, and additional gas costs we had paid over the last 24 hours due to their misquoted repair time. I told him this was bad business practice, negligent, and that I had legitimate reason to call a lawyer if he continued to refuse. I was then told 'I would have to call my lawyer' that's when I hung up the phone. At 1:30 I received a text from David saying 'Came up here to look at the car and it's not here' to which I responded 'The car is in the process of being towed, for $100, since the job was not completed the $1450 can be reimbursed onto James Brown's card until the car has been completed.' read more

This "business" is a complete joke. A little background, my father worked in the automotive business for over 30 years with a big name company. He does all my car work. My car was getting older and needed a MAJOR repair. Being that it was such a big job and required special tools he thought it would be best to take it and have it done. So we did some research, he called Brooks, guy seemed nice. When they went to drop off my car my father SPECIFICALLY explained what needed to be done and verbatim he said "if you happen to see any other issues while you're under it call me. Don't do anything else until you call me". A week goes by (they told us a week for repairs) my father decides to call to check up on it. Upon calling, the gentlemen began to tell my Dad the SPECIFIC repair we requested done had not even been started but they had done a Tune Up. My dad became frustrated and asked him why the COMPLETE opposite was done and unnecessary repairs that WERE NOT AUTHORIZED had been done. The gentle literally started screaming at him over the phone dropping several F-bombs saying over and over "you better pay me my goddamn money" and hung up. Both me and my parents were shocked that this gentlemen had spoke to us this way. We've never had any company talk to us in the horrible fashion. Hours later a woman called my Dad from the company and apologized for the earlier phone call. Earlier when the gentlemen had spoken with my Dad he told us this so called tune up would cost us $500 and until they received the money my car would be kept. After the woman called to apologize for the incredibly horrible business the man had provided via phone they told my father they would take $200 instead (How aout $0 consider we never asked for this so called tune up?). When we arrive they hadn't even had an itemized bill written up of what was actually done to the car. We had to request it. I paid to get my car to get it out of that crooked place. Looking at the itemized bill we had to ask for we saw the complete unnecessary jobs done. New spark plugs? Had them replaced with the finest you can almost buy 6 months prior. Didn't even need them. New hoses? Replaced those 3 months prior as well. Moral of the story is, all repairs they did were ones that had already been done in previous months. I wonder if they even truly looked at the car. If they did, why would they replace things that were new and didn't need replacing? I will never do business with a place such as this ever again. I will be sure to make sure that all that I talk to will know how the experiences we had with these people. Appalled. Not only did they not even fix what we asked but they had a toddler tantrum via phone with their customer with vulgar language. This place should be shut down.
