Made an appointment to have fluids changed. Arrived on time. Waited an hour and no one had even looked at my car. Instead, I was told "we have to check your car to make sure it's safe for us to work on." I said there's no reason why you cannot work on my car. They never checked to fluids but gave me an estimate for nearly $2,000 for 2 fluid changes: differential and transmission. It was a wasted morning. I got a flyer for True Automotive in the mail and thought I would give them a try. I called to check a price on front pads and rotors for my SUV. The guy answering the phone asked if I could bring in the vehicle for an inspection. I said no I just wanted a price. He went into some long explanation about giving a correct price. I know labor, rotors and brake pads are easy to quote. All he had to do was give me a price and let me know if they found anything else while changing the brakes it would cost more, but he didn't. I hung up and called the shop I usually use and they gave me a quote right over the phone. Appointment is set and they have my business. You could have had a new customer, but your guy answering the phone blew it. read more

I was able to get a same day appointment for an alignment on my FRS. The customer service was amazing, the waiting room was very comfortable, and you can actually see them work on your vehicle from the lobby. Apparently, the alignment machine they use is one of the best on the market, as they do focus on the sport car community; however, I did see a few non-sport cars in the bay as well. After a month, and a drive across the East coast, my car drives like it did the first day I purchased it off of the lot! The prices as fair, they offer financing, they're customer- oriented, and they're locally owned (which I appreciate and like to support). Being a transplant from New Jersey and not finding a legit genuine honest mechanic I finally found my mechanic at true automotive! As a widowed single mom, honesty is important and the explanation of everything is very important as well and everyone at true automotive has gone above and beyond to explain everything to me and they were very patient with me when I was very nervous about getting my car fixed. Just picked up my truck and had multiple services performed. Break pads, rotors, cabin air filter, transmission filter etc. This shop kept me in the loop via phone calls, text and emails throughout the whole process. Really nice people here, but brought our Mercedes in for an oil change. Kept noticing oil on ours and mother in laws driveways, along with in the garage. Brought it back and found they didn't tighten the bolt for the oil pan. So frustrating to have to take a simple thing like this back. Also got a Quote for my Tacoma's front brakes and price was really steep As I mentioned, people are great here but go where you feel your getting the work done right at a fair price read more

I had taken my car to the Toyota dealer who not only didn't diagnose the problem but also claimed they didn't hear the noise that I had noticed. When my husband and I both heard it every time we were in the car, we thought we would take it to a more local source. Mike, the mechanic, rode with us and we pointed out the noise which was not as clear as when only my husband and I were in the car. He thought the weight distribution might have changed the noise. He also thought it might be ball bearings. Jeremy Priepke, the General Manager, was most helpful and made sure we caught a ride home and then came and picked us up when we dropped off the car. Fantastic,fast, affordable service. I really appreciate these folks fixing what my last "mechanic" completely screwed me on. I showed up without brakes and left feeling like I had been treated right. Two of my biggest gripes with auto repair would be feeling like I know more than the technician or being pressured with the up sell routine. These folks know what they are doing. I was told by my mechanic that my Prius needed a repair that would probably cost around $2000. But they didn't feel comfortable doing it, as they don't do a whole lot of hybrid work. I called around looking for quotes. I got a $4000 quote from the Toyota dealer. I called a few other places-Giddeons was one of them. I told them what I had been quoted, and what they said was wrong with it. They ended up finding a leak in a different area, and the repairs cost me around $200! They could have just went with what everyone else had told me, and I wouldn't have thought twice about it.
