Total scammers. For a coolant leak they quoted me $1,600. When I asked why they were changing the spark plugs, they said $1,200 without spark plugs. I paid them the $70 diagnostic fee and took my car to a real mechanic. There was one hose that needed to be replaced. The cost = $315 Please help put scammers like these out of business. read more

I am extremely disappointed in this C&T location. Went in back in December for a check engine light with a misfire code. I was told that my only options were to pay them $7,000 for a new engine or $3,000 to replace a head gasket because "oil was leaking into the cylinder tubes" and that "replacing the gasket was risky because the bottom end may fail" (aka give us 7 grand!!!!!!). Took the car to a different mechanic that I trust and know personally for a second opinion because this seemed suspicious and dishonest & sure enough, C&T is no different from other scam artist mechanics. The other mechanic told me he could find no evidence of oil leaking into the tube. The ignition coil that needed to be changed was the original that came with the car and went bad due to natural wear and tear seeing as the car has 168k miles. I paid $135 to have the ignition coil replaced. What really irks me is that C&T didn't even offer the option to replace the fouled coil. Their excuse will probably be that it was "only a temporary fix" but again - no evidence that this is anything other than normal wear and tear. And even if the ignition coil replacement WAS only temporary, a temporary fix should've been given as an option. It's pretty clear that C&T didn't want to do a small job because it doesn't pay enough. I'm sure that the other old original coils will follow suit and go bad in the near future because they're at the end of their life, but I sure won't be giving C&T the business. Don't go to them because they will lie to you, especially if you're a woman and they can tell you don't know much about cars. It's really disappointing because cars are people's livelihoods and y'all just want to lie and make extra money off of non existent problems. If you didn't want to do a small job, you could've just said you didn't want to do it & I would've taken it elsewhere. Why lie and make me think my entire engine is bad? This is why people can't stand mechanics and think you're all scammers. Good job making the entire business look bad, because I'm officially done with mechanics shops. Clearly small one man show mechanics, despite having longer wait times, have integrity. Y'all just don't. Don't bother replying to this review with some BS either. We have used C&T for years, supporting a Woodstock business and frankly the service had been quite good. However, over the past few years, the service has fallen off and continued to slip. We have had C&T miss a recall when performing a pre-purchase inspection (cost me $1000 after purchase to correct); upcharge me more than originally quoted because a different person was at the counter; and, not properly repair an oil sensing element/line that ruptured while 200 miles from home. Recently, we had AC/Heater issues with our Infiniti. After initial work, the system still did not work and C&T could not fix it because they could not replicate the intermittent failure. If I could give negative 5 stars I would. This place is ridiculous, they broke more than they repaired. Had radiator and oil leak on my truck. Sold me a timing belt and an A/C evacuation at 800 bucks more. Well the radiator leaked the oil seal leaked and they broke my A/C. Waited NINE DAYS for the repair. Truck was in better shape coming in than when I picked it up. After I brought it back immediately they told me they bent the ac line and would fix it at no cost, wow really. Work done very well and correctly the first time at a fair price. They fixed every issue we reported including some superficial ones like a blown taillight. However, they left some tools behind in the car, and the repair was a day late. I will definitely use their services again because of the quality work and fair pricing. read more

Great guys! Randy & Chad are the opposite of today's dealer service center after your car's warranty runs out. Next time you go to your dealership and they quote you a repair bill more than your car is worth, go see Randy & Chad. Just had an issue that dealership wanted me to buy $1,000 part (new fuse box) on my family minivan as it wouldn't start sometimes and leave family stranded for no reason for an hour or two. Dealership said is was fuse box broken from frame which ended up being total BS! Randy's crew figured out it was part of the cars anti-theft system not letting us start car as the computer system indicated car had been broken into and part of system was to not let car be started. A couple of hours of labor and no parts. Thanks C&T for saving me hundreds of dollars and making my family vehicle reliable again!!! read more

C&T Auto is a solid auto repair service -- they performed routine maintenance on my Volvo for several years before I found a personal mechanic and began doing the routine maintenance myself. Standard pricing for oil changes and tire rotations, and they could usually have me in and out within 45 minutes. I haven't used them for major repairs, but I don't doubt their capacity to get the job done. Pricing is basically standard among auto shops -- maybe a bit on the cheaper side. read more

After being a loyal customer for 7 years, maintaining 3 cars and sending numerous friends to C&T I can no longer stand behind them because they do not stand behind their work. On 8/16/12, I took my Nissan Titan in for a basic routine transmission flush as I had just hit 100k and planned to take on a trip. That evening as I crossed over Monteagle in TN, the transmission started slipping heavily. As I pulled into a station I noted that my engine compartment was now covered in fluid and the entire truck smelled like it was burning. We limped into a local motel with my 8 month old and 4 year old for the night. The next day we had it towed (at our expense) to the local dealership where they determined the hose had not been connected properly after the flush and the fluid had all leaked out. They replaced the hose and topped it off but stated permanent damage had likely been done and it was a matter of time. The transmission died 8/19/12 on the way home, requiring a complete rebuild ($3200). Randy stated that he could not afford to help me. He offered to pay for the fluid top off, hose replacement and hotel (250). A mere 8% of the entire repair cost due to their screw up. He said they are running a small business and simply could not afford it. He would not meet us halfway or consider any compromise. Do I think it was an honest mistake? Absolutely! I think Harold does an excellent job. But everyone makes mistakes. How can I trust them when they screw something up in a major way and leave us out in the cold with no help to fix it? My family did not have this $3,433.34 for their mistake in our budget. I hope that Randy and his family enjoyed their vacation last week. Because of their mistake an unwillingness to help at all to pay for the damage we will be missing out on ours. read more

I've been doing business with C & T since I moved to Woodstock in 1990. During these years, I've done business with C & T dozens of times and have yet to have a bad experience. In my experience, if you can find an honest auto shop, DO NOT let it get away. I certainly won't let C & T slip away. Their old shop behind the old Wal-Mart on Main Street isn't much to look at, but I'm not looking for a shiny new auto repair shop. Very upset with my service. I brought my car in with a light on & my car making a noise when I turn. Marcus assures me I could leave it Friday and I could get it Monday. I picked it up Tuesday, spending 800+ for 2 new front axiles. No big deal, I was grateful I was getting it done. While driving it Wednesday from Woodstock to sandy springs For work I noticed it still made the same noise. I called on my lunch letting Marcus know and that I was going to longboat Sarasota tomorrow and I want to ensure it's safe. He let me know I could bring it in and he could tell me, I did, and he told me I just need oil on something and to bring it back on Tuesday and he could do it. I asked again if it was gonna be safe and fine and he said yes trying to reassure me. Fast forward to 6 hours into the 8 hour road trip, my car starts to make a growling, squealing noise. Mind you it's 4th of July weekend, July 3rd to be exact and no shops are open. We somehow get to my grandmas house who is trying to call every mechanic in Sarasota. Luckily, D & R automotive in Sarasota saved me. They told me my axle went into my wheel bearings because it was too short or long (can't remember) but anyways he saved the part because I had just spend so much on this wrong part and I was having to spend 700 at the place in Sarasota because I need my wheel bearings and axle replaced. But he gave me it and documented it on my receipt and even said Could call him. I brought back the part to get my money back for the part but I truly so disappointed. Whether it's a manufacture issue or the actual mechanic, the way it was handled was poor. No call and it's almost been a month. Service was very awful for me. $100 back for a $700 mistake. read more

DO NOT USE THEM!! They Destroyed our car. They totaled it. They couldn't figure out how to get the key out of the fob so they took out the backseat of my car, (charged me hundreds in labor for doing it) to get in the trunk to "release" it to open it (to get to the battery). There is a key in the fob to use to open it from the outside. Charged me over $700!! They didn't put the back seat back in.. left their tools all in my car, did not put anything back together then put the wrong battery in.. damaging all the computer systems. So I came here for repairs on my 2006 GMC Yukon Denali. The brake lights were not working and most auto shops such as Meineke and Kaufman Tires would not work on the vehicle due to it being a possible electrical issue which is something these auto companies are not certified to do. As I figured, the issue was a faulty brake light switch so C&T Auto Service did the repair. As of now, my brake lights are working properly (10/3/2017) so I'm pleased with the brake light work, the speed of the service, and the price. However, I am not pleased with the condition of my vehicle after the service nor the customer service satisfaction. After I paid for the job and got in my vehicle, on their premises, I noticed my interior lights would not turn off, the emergency brake was in place, an employee's screwdriver left on my driver's side floor, and what's worst, my truck is making an awful noise near the exhaust area (rear end area of my truck). So I returned to their office asking the manager, Chad to investigate the problem. He didn't have an answer nor did he apologize for the condition that my truck was left in. The guy basically tried to say I was trying to find stuff to complain about and insinuating that this truck noise was already an issue before I brought them the vehicle. Well, if I leave my truck for brake work then I expect the other parts of my truck to be in the same condition as before. Never coming back here again. This guy Chad doesn't know how to take responsibility for his employees' actions and his employees are not the sort of people I want working on my vehicle. I like to do business with small companies, but I expect quality service and integrity from the people I do business with. God knows what they have done to my truck!!!! read more

I took my 97 Ford Ranger in to C&T on February 20th. I wanted all the clutch components replaced. I told Chad there was no hurry but he had it ready on February 22nd. I picked up a friend to drive the truck home so I didn't drive it until Friday 23rd. I realized at once the clutch still had air in the hydraulic system because you had to push the pedal all the way to the floorboard to get the clutch to disengage and then it was still hard to get it to go into reverse. It was too late to call C&T and since I needed the truck on Monday and didn't want to waste two days dropping it off and picking it up I decided to just bleed it properly myself. So I bought a vacuum bleeder and did it myself. In the process I discovered they had NOT refilled the reservoir after their feeble bleeding. They had NOT used tubing to drain the bleeder valve and had just let the fluid squirt under the truck. They had NOT replaced the bleeder valve dust cover and worst of all had NOT replaced the inspection port rubber plug. Without this plug you can almost guarantee an early clutch failure from road grime and with a good potential to ruin the transmission pilot shaft. I called Chad Monday morning and told him about the air in the clutch system and that had been corrected but I needed the rubber plug (There doesn't seem to be anyplace but junkyards to find them). He said he would check and call me back. He couldn't locate my plug the mechanic tossed but did go to extra effort to find one, Thanks Chad! In one review I said he didn't call back but he did the next day, it just took him a while to find the hard to locate part, Sorry about that Chad, you are great. I do wonder how many people that gave C&T five stars have parts missing they just haven't noticed. After all, if they hadn't screwed up the clutch bleeding I wouldn't have known they didn't replace the rubber plug and I am sure they would have cheerfully replaced the clutch when it failed. We have been loyal C&T customers for years. That is about to change. The last several times we've taken either of our cars in, we've paid to get extensive service done. Then we get the car home and discover either the problem isn't fixed, there is a new problem, or the problem is worse than when we started. They always tell us that it was something we didn't ask to have checked or something that went wrong after we left. I took a used car I just bought in to the Towne Lake location for brakes and asked them to check the car over for other issues. Including the brakes I paid almost $1000. I picked it up and drove 2 miles home. When I got out there was radiator fluid pouring out. Took it back the next morning and was told I now need a new radiator. How it can be checked "thoroughly" and not need a radiator then the very next day it does need one is beyond me. They are either grossly incompetent or dishonest, or both! I realize we drive older cars, but that shouldn't be an excuse for poor or dishonest service. If this is how they treat loyal customers, I will no longer be one. read more

Fairly new to the area, I needed to locate a shop that I could trust. Not a short order for a woman - there are still 'gentlemen' out there who want to take advantage, assuming a lack of automotive knowledge. Fortunately, I do have some understanding of engines etc. but getting older and lacking hand strength, I cannot do the kind of repairs that I once did. I tried one recommended local garage close to my office, but was uncomfortable with their explanations and pricing, so I looked around for somewhere else and found some reviews about C&T. I am so glad I gave them a try. Chad & Randy have never told me anything other than what I already knew, have quoted and performed work at what I consider to be more than fair prices, and have performed the repairs without delay. At this point, all 3 of my vehicles have been to them for issues ranging from the routine to the major, and I have been very satisfied every time with the service and the cost. I had the timing belt finally go out on my 2001 Toyota, but luckily it went out in my driveway. Called C&T and they had a tow truck come out bring the car into the shop free of charge (not sure if it was because I was a new customer). Since I hadn't really used these guys before, I called another shop to give me a quote on parts and labor. C&T quoted the work at several hundred dollars less and did a fantastic job on the vehicle. Needed a timing belt/ water pump kit installed on a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT. 2 days after repairs were made we had to return the vehicle because it was making an odd noise. When they diagnosed it they found their mechanic left a pin in the tensioner. (So my 17 year old son was driving for 2 days with a loose timing belt) They said they "fixed" the problem. 2 weeks later the noise came back. We towed it to another repair shop. Up on further investigation the mechanic found a loose bolt, the mechanic would have to remove to make repairs, wore in to the pulley. The damaged pulley cut the timing belt causing the belt to slip. The new shop also stated the tensioner piston was weak and should have been replaced during the initial repair. It was also discovered bolts were missing on the timing cover. The loose cover also wore on the belt and it, the cover, is damaged and now needs to be replaced. They charged my son $750 for shotty workmanship. C & T also stated my sons car had a cracked oil pump when in fact it was not it's just the gasket . They quoted $800 for repairs because everything they just reinstalled would have to come back off to get to the pump! Why didn't they tell us when it was all apart? Their answer, "because you didn't come in for that". Now my sons car sits. Due to the pin being left in the tensioner, the timing belt slipping, the piston and valves have been damaged. (Mitsubishi's have close tolerance motors) I have e-mailed them but have not received a response back. I DO NOT recommend. We WILL NOT use them again. We will however report C & T to the BBB. read more
