Brooks Brothers has always been a favorite. Dating back to early 2000 when all of my business shirts were purchased from them. Now I do more mail order. Find them located in Virginia Beach Town Center behind the Cheesecake Factory with off street parking and free garage parking. Today I had a few gifts to pick up and no surprise the experience was exceptional. They had 30% off, plus clearance items on Christmas Eve and was open late afternoon. The clerk was knowledgeable about the products and stayed with me to assist. I was also surprised they had plenty of staff given the day. I had also purchased a blazer for my son just weeks before. Checkout was smooth and Brooks Brothers has the best gift boxes, they are beautiful. A hard copy receipt was placed in the bag. I came in here and looking for a suit for me and my groomsmen. I was immediately greeted by Matt who introduced himself and asked me about my needs. I told him my budget which was unfortunately out of range for the store. Matt could have easily ended the conversation there but he went the extra mile and did my measurements for me and gave me some suggestions of places that would fit my budget. I was measured for a suit in the store and ended up ordering it online. The suit fit great. The tailor they recommend down the road was professional, fast, and courteous. Ms. Melinda worked with me to find the best fitting white dress shirt to complete the look. Full disclosure, I had planned on saving $20 by getting a shirt at Men's Warehouse. I ended up walking out on them because they didn't want me to try on their shirts since they are "too difficult to put back together with all the pins and clips and cardboard." I've went to Brooks Brothers for some time now. My fiancée had me come here to have my suit made to measure. Not knowing what to expect when I came in, I was greeted by the manager Rachel. She sat with me for hours making sure that it was perfect. I ordered a suit and some sport coats from her. When they came in they weren't quite right so she had them made again. When they came in the second time, PERFECT! Absolutely nailed it. I can't wear off the shelf suits. My measurements are VERY difficult to get right. I cannot wear off the shelf suits because they never fit the way I want them to. I would rather spend the extra money with Rachel and Eddy because my suits are amazing. I cannot even tell you how many pieces I have purchased from Rachel and Eddy. Those two have made me a Brooks Brothers fanatic now. The quality, care, service and value you get from this place is amazing. My fiancée has now become obsessed with everything Brooks Brothers. I can't thank the team enough. read more

This is a must - have classic American brand. Brooks Brother is the oldest men's clothier and considered the traditional clothing brand that also features a women's line. I strongly believe that Brooks Brother is the epitome of elegance. On a recent visit, I ordered the Milano Advantage Chinos. Since I have moved to America I've always had trouble finding the ideal trouser for my size. I mean the perfect fit in my booty. Thankfully, that they can alter the pants the way I wanted. It may take a little longer however its definitely worth to wait. In terms of price, its quite expensive but guaranteed that the quality of the product is worth the penny you spend. This is the kind of brand that will last a long time. Absolutely love this store. Its clean, organized and well merchandise. The visual decor on displayed are spot on. Thought the entire store looks amazing. The customer service here is simply terrific. The staff is very polite and accommodating. read more

Ordered a suit from Brooks Brothers online. Three weeks after ordering I contacted customer service to see when it would be delivered. I was told that alterations (hemming the trousers) would take 4-5 weeks. This was not mentioned on the website when I ordered. A week later I received an email saying the Suit would be ready June 21. On June 26 my credit card was charged so I called to ask about the delivery date. The agent told me it would be another 4-5 weeks. She also said the charge on my card is "just a hold." I asked to cancel the order and for a full refund. Very poor service and dishonest advertising on their web site. Avoid them. read more

This place is top notch. Ian, a supervisor, was my associate. He was extremely professional and knew his stuff about suits; don't let his age fool you. Every time I came in Ian made sure I was happy with everything before I left. One time I was out of town, but wanted to take advantage of a sale - I called Ian and he placed the order for me other the phone so I could get the discount and I got sized when I came back! Great service all around. Note for the manager - You need to fix the turn around time on tailoring. I'm no expert, but 10-14 days seems a bit excessive. I understand the garments have to be shipped up to Georgetown, but tell corporate to find you a closer tailor. Also, my two suits needed a bit of work after they were first tailored and when they were pinned in the store, everything looked great. The tailor got the lengths of the pants and coat sleeves wrong, as in one leg was about a half inch longer than the other and the same for the coat sleeves - need to cut that guy loose. Having said this, your store is great. Just get corporate to get you a new tailor! Still giving 5 stars since I have a feeling the store manager doesn't have a choice in tailor. read more

Premium prices with the poorest possible service. Ordered a suit after finding the right size and fit in the Virginia Beach store. The suit that showed up was not even close to the same fit and required significant alteration (at least 5 inches taken in) and since it required so much work, I was charged $80 more. It did not come back in the time promised, showed up nearly a week late. The phone conversations with the store personnel during that time were not about how it was going to get fixed but rather how horrible the alterations folks were and that they do this all the time. Complaining about the management of the Richmond store (where apparently, it had been sent). Almost all negative, no solutions beyond "I hope it shows up tomorrow". My suit finally showed up this morning, I went in at lunch to pick it up and try it on. I was handed a $1000 suit that looked like it had been wadded up in a box for days and still had packing material stuck to it. When I asked for it to be brushed and pressed I was clearly putting them out. After a few minutes I was told the press was down and they would have to do it by hand. After three attempts, I finally had a slightly wrinkled suit in a bag and headed home with a half hearted "sorry and thank you" (and another complaint about management and the alterations staff). Not even an offer to make it right or try to earn my business back. My next purchase at Brooks Brothers will be at their going out of business sale, which seems inevitable at this point. read more

I've been to many Brooks Brothers locations and seen better selection at their outlets. Really lacking in tie material and pocket squares. Pros: 1. Overall the customer service while inside was pleasant and professional. Quality has never been an issue. 2. Organized and aesthetic layout. Cons: 1. They don't answer their phone during business hours. Not even voice mail. Just rings forever. 2. They didn't have my size dress shirt so I special ordered. Their shirt measurements are all off. I tried a 33 length shirt and it was still too short. What? All my shirts fall between 32-33. I ended up ordering a 34 inch sleeve. This is my first Brooks Brothers dress shirt. 3. When trying on suit coats to test my dress shirt sleeve length, I know I'm a 38S and asked specifically for 38S coats in a slim fit. For one, NONE of the racks are labeled with size. You have to literally look at each jacket till you find the right one. I was not able to find any 38S. Instead, I was given a 40R in the Larger fitment and it looked like a robe to which the associate said it looked good on me. After that comment, I stopped looking. 4. They don't have electronic credit card receipts for special orders. I was not given a receipt and was told they have to phone in the order old school style. After 5 days I did not receive notification of my order being placed. After calling customer service, I was told the email goes to spam most of the time. I found it in my spam folder that the shirt had been ordered and has shipped. read more

I was dressed extremely casual the day I stopped by to check out a couple of dresses they were showing in the display window. The saleswoman was helpful. I looked around for a couple of minutes my sister then joined me. A salesman joined the sales floor alerting the saleswoman that we were in the store by raising his eyebrows and suggesting that the woman notice us. There was crazy tension. I really wanted the $98 dress. These people made some type of prejudgment of me, which made me very uncomfortable. I understand I am not the demographic of this brand and I am ok with that but I still think as a retail business salesperson should treat all potential customers with full respect because you do not know if it is somebody birthday, a friend's weddings, a wedding anniversary, work dinner, or many other occasions that one may want to purchase a nice dress for. It was my 40th birthday and I was looking for a special dress for my dinner and cake celebration. As you may have figured I quickly took my business somewhere else. I'd shopped here a year ago and had good customer service, so I went back to get more of the same style shirts I'd bought before. This time when I came in wearing a t-shirt, shorts and unshaven, a saleswoman named Abigail there and acted extremely haughtily to me the entire time. When I asked to try on shirts, she rolled her eyes as if I were asking for her to do me a huge service. She rolled them again when I asked her to explain the various deals around the store, which are not obvious and she acted as if everyone should know them. Finally, after she sold me several wrongly-sized shirts and I finally received my order in the mail, I discovered she'd only sent me three but charged me for four. I called the Brooks Brothers customer service number and the first person on the phone said I had to visit or call this Va Beach branch during business hours to remedy the problem. Only after escalating it to her manager was I able to get them to refund my money for the missing shirt.
