The 3 musketeers all geared up and headed down to Eugene to get to the Oregon Country Fair... we stopped at Les Schwab like I had been told to do each time to make sure the tire pressure was good and tires were good to adventure... the guy says the tires on the axel were good, but I should look at switching the spare out soon...he didnt know how far Id get on it if need be. So we go on our merry little way...and about 30 miles from Eugene... the Rv shakes and you feel the plunk of a flat tire... This was no ordinary flat tire... it burst and then ripped out the wheel well and made a huge hole in a space where we stored extra gloves and our electric space heater...I had placed our Jerry and Jerry bear on the lid of that... they were laying on the side of I-5 about a 1/4 mile back. So, here is where a couple of angels came... we use state farm roadside assistance... which has been a great investment BTW... the Jbs Roadside Assistance arrives in about 45 mins...and although he isnt supposed to do a trailer... changes the tire...he initially thinks it doesn't fit... but it does...he tells us to drive really slow with flashers... Coburn is just 10 miles... if it weren't for him, we'd be either on the side of the road still or towed and without RV for the festival. Angel #1 Noreen googles closest tire shop and we arrive at Pomp's Tire Service these guys not only didnt blink an eye at getting us 2 new tires, but worked really hard to get the shredded rubber from around the axel and shoring up the underneath. They had us back on the road within an hour...and put the other good tire on the spare mount so we still have a spare. Angels #2. If it hadnt been for these 3 guys, not only doing their job, they went above a beyond and sent us on our magical way.

Ray's towing was recommended by St. Vincent de Paul auto sales, so I called around for prices, including Ray's. Everyone was about the same, but still $180 for a short daylight tow seemed excessive. They did an excellent job. So call them first, before you get old, grumpy and cheap. I would use Ray's Towing again, and still bitch about the price. They're good.

In the middle of Covid, being alone and elderly to drive back to AZ from Oregon solo, this place could not see it's way to actually sit with me and print me a trip tick generated from their system no matter how many times I asked. Been with AAA long time (decades). AAA should look at it's policies. The 2 women working there did not seem very busy. How hard could it be to just help someone out at the last minute? Yes there is an online site I went to print one - it was crappy not the same version as you get from a AAA employee who appears to have access to better system to generate a better Trip Tick. Maybe it's not so worth it anymore to belong to AAA. Shame on you AAA for your policies.

Without any previous warning, my battery was done. I contacted my insurance company or which I have full coverage, including comprehensive through Costco powered by American family. After doing a quick search, the representative stated there was no one in network. Oh, I forgot to mention, I only had 10% left on my battery for my phone, which I had mentioned to the representative. She stayed in I could call around and find somebody myself and pay for it myself and send the receipts and they would reimburse me. At which time I reminded her I only had 10% left on my phone. She then asked if I wanted her to close out the case then. I was flabbergasted to make a long story short, after my husband, and I reached out to several places locally, and we're having no luck, my husband called the insurance company back and spoke to a supervisor. They got Lily pad to agree to come help me. What a relief. I was so far away and yet Michael, who works for Lily pad was willing to come help me!!! As it turned out since fellow campers appeared on order elevated hill across from me and I got their attention and was helped. But the point is that Michael was in route to help from 2 hours away when 2 local companies declined ... not caring that I would be stranded up there!!!
