Have insurance but want more personalized care and appointment availability the same or next day most of the time? Then Direct Primary Care may be just what the doctor ordered. Direct Primary Care is a concept that promotes the idea of a close and personal patient-doctor relationship. Having a physician that knows you, your history and your healthcare goals because most appointments are 30-60 minutes long instead of maybe getting to spend 5 minutes with your physician which is the standard in the health care field these days. And that's IF you can even get an appointment in a reasonable amount of time to begin with. Direct Primary Care or DPC, eliminates the frustration of not being able to get in to see your doctor, or ANY doctor for that matter because in DPC you can access your doctor in person, by email or by text depending on the time of day. So, go ahead. Break away from the same old boring routine of having to wait a month or two to get an appointment and then getting 5-7 minutes with your doctor, if you're lucky. Try a new paradigm that takes you away from assembly line medicine. Join the thousands of people who have discovered the benefits of the old Marcus Welby way of having a doctor that knows YOU. The parking lot was empty and yet I still saw her exactly one hour after my appointment time. I do have to admit I'm impressed with her electronic document management system, it eliminated the paperwork of a new patient and made that go fast. However, walking down the hall I was in a time warp from my parents' home, growing up in the mid-70s to mid-80s. Can't say I remember ever giving a "sample" in a Dixie cup! Her triage person could not find my pulse (I swear I'm alive!) after trying on both arms and said, "We'll just say it's this over that." I just came from working out, so I'm quite sure my blood was pumping. Finally the doctor comes in and in the conversation she asks me how much milk I drink a day. "Oh, one to two cups." She replied, "Well, you should be drinking at least four cups a day, because in case you've never noticed, you're oriental." 1. What's with the attitude? 'In case I've never noticed?' 2. I AM NOT ORIENTAL! I AM MEXICAN. 3. It is 2011. Who says oriental?!?! (Should that be capitalized with an O?) Despite marking the appropriate box that I am Hispanic, I clarified for her my race. She continued on, stating she recommends a calcium pill, "because as black and oriental women get older, they cannot tolerate drinking that much milk." Also in the conversation she managed to make a disparaging comment about Barbara Bush (again, I say, it's 2011 - who bags on Barbara Bush in 2011?), and then George W. (Although I'm okay with that, how does she know that, and how does she expect to maintain a practice if she spouts her political agenda?) I could not get out of there fast enough. I just want my darn prescription for an antibiotic, lady!

I'll fill you in on my latest experience with them. A month ago I woke up at 2:30am with an UTI. I waited till opening hours and immediately called the office. I was told the soonest appointment they had available was in two weeks. I asked did you understand what I'm asking to be seen for and she said yes. She also said I advice you go to a clinic or urgent care. So I go to clinic, they give me meds for a confirmed UTI. The next day I start throwing up I was having a reaction to the meds. I tried calling urgent care and waited almost an entire day and no one got back to me, I then call Dr. Lee's office , left a message with the nurse asking if they could help, prescribe a new medication so I could continue and not be in pain. They finally called me back 2 days later. (I took care of the problem myself. Yesterday (Monday Nov. 29th 2021) I decided to call and get an appointment scheduled no voice, sore throat, no fever, coughing . The receptionist schedules me in for a virtual appointment with Dr. Lee because she was booked , on (Tuesday @12:20pm) the next day. She also told me she would have the nurse call me because she is the only one that is able to override appointments . No one called me , I called on Tuesday morning to confirm that I had an appointment at 12:20 pm. She again confirms it and says the nurse may call you back on this . Immediately following the conversation I receive a call from the office to get new insurance information and all the stuff they needed ($$). I received a call at 12:10pm from a nurse and she tells me with the symptoms I'm having a virtual appointment will not work. They have no available appointments for me and I should go to Urgent Care!!! They do not care .
