The staff are friendly, happy and totally professional providing top notch quality medical care for our many dogs & cats over this time span. Have taken my dog here since I adopted him in 2020. His very first visit for a checkup and vaccines was fine. But soon I had to take him about every 6 months to get his nails trimmed because he absolutely hated having his paws touched. They prescribed him trazadone which they realized wasn't enough. They added other medications and despite my saying none of it was helping they persisted till I said he probably needs to be fully sedated. After about 1.5-2 years of this crap I was finally able to trim his nails enough on my own so I wouldn't have to take him to the vet which he was now completely fearful of. 2 years ago I scheduled just an annual checkup, I hadn't had his nails cut there for about a year. They started telling me about his medication protocol. I told them he didn't need medications or sedation, that was for the nail cuts. After a bit I finally got them to drop it and I went to the appointment. My dog was scared and yes a bit reactive (as in turning to see what was happening) when they gave him shots, no snapping or biting not even any contact of his mouth to any part of the vet/tech. They had me muzzle him then wrap his head in a towel. Great, that's not gonna frighten an already scared dog. Afterwards I told them he'd do better without any of that. Last year I scheduled another annual. Same bs about medication protocol. I said no. The vet came into the room already scared of my dog who they'd never seen before. Throughout the physical exam they were afraid (jumpy and quick to run/ backoff at any movement) despite my dog not growling, snarling, biting, snapping, or making any aggressive movements. I let them know he's sensitive about his paws and being grabbed under his pits. No incident for the physical exam, he didn't react at all as they stuck an otoscope in his ear. The first vaccine was administered orally. The vet was obviously fearful and asked if I wanted to do it. I opened his mouth and they squirted it in his mouth. Again no reaction besides the usual yuck reaction dogs do. Since I know they're fearing my dog is going to maul them I held his head while they give the first shot near his pit. He reacted as any dog (or human) not expecting being poked would by turning to see what's happening. They immediately run out the door to get help restraining him. The rest of the shots go in his back half. He's doing a low growl but I'm holding his head, he's not even moving at this point as they give the shots and take blood. I get that a scared dog is just as dangerous as an aggressive one but if a vet can't tell the difference between a normal "I'm scared" and a "I'm scared and I'm going to bite you" wth! My dog has never snapped at anyone, I honestly wonder what they have in his record or if the vets are so inexperienced with dogs that they can't read behaviors. I don't think I've ever had the same vet twice here, seems like they just do their time and move on. The last straw was at the end of the exam the vet suggesting my dog is reactive and should be sedated for future visits cause he'll escalate. He's actually gotten better about visits, less jumpy and less reactive. They never listen to me and repeatedly do things to make him more fearful.

I was met with compassion and I could feel the love from the staff, even though they did not know my baby. It helped immensely during the worst day of my life. I sent my boyfriend in to pick up his ashes a week later and the nurse hugged him while he cried, and shed her own tears with him. It was so beyond sweet. Flash forward to today, I had to rush my new dog in for incessant coughing fits. I was worried he couldn't breathe. Admittedly, I have a tendency to over react to things after losing my last dog. I once again was show compassion and my dog and I both felt taken care of, seen, and listened to. Thank you for everything you all do. I know working in emergency veterinary care has to be one of the most difficult jobs in the world. My boys and I are eternally grateful for all of you.

Review of VCA Advanced Veterinary Center - 7712 Crosspoint Commons, Fishers, IN 46038…read more I had a very disappointing experience at VCA Advanced Veterinary Center in Fishers. While I understand that veterinary environments can be busy and stressful, professionalism and compassion should never be optional -- especially in an emergency care setting. One of the staff members, Danielle, spoke to me in a way that felt dismissive and condescending. When you're already worried about your pet, the last thing you need is to feel talked down to. Communication matters, and tone matters even more when clients are under stress. What was even more frustrating was the sense that administrative or social corrections seemed to take priority over actually helping patients get seen. Instead of focusing on the urgency of care, there appeared to be more concern about correcting people in conversation. In an advanced veterinary center, the primary focus should always be on patient care and compassion. Additionally, the overall atmosphere felt uncomfortable. Some staff members appeared disrespectful not only toward clients but also toward their own coworkers. It did not feel like a supportive or team-oriented environment. When employees seem disengaged or dismissive, it reflects poorly on the entire organization. I truly hope management takes feedback seriously and works on improving communication, professionalism, and overall workplace culture. Pet owners bring their animals here during vulnerable moments -- they deserve empathy, urgency, and respect.

In addition to the euthanasia fee of $197, I had requested an individual cremation, with return of the ashes, and was charged $475 for this. This seemed high, but in a stressful situation, I trusted that I was fairly being charged the going rate for this area. Days later, I decided to check with 12 other local vet offices to get their quotes for similar cremation services. Quotes ranged from $198 to $301! I contacted Julie, the Windermere hospital manager to see if there was a mistake on my bill. She said the fee was correct, attributed the high price to the cremation service they used, and wouldn't make any adjustment to my bill. When I received my cat back and saw the name of the cremation service on the paperwork, it turned out to be the same one used by 2 of the other practices that quoted me a price of just under $220! I feel very taken advantage of by Windermere Animal Hospital at a traumatic time, and will not return to this office in the future.

They advised the doctor had to look at him. I asked do I get a report? How is he? They said no report just a visual inspection. I never agreed to this charge. I just paid it and left. My cat was wet, petrified and smelled horrible. I will never go back there for anything.

It was a Saturday, so my regular vet was not open & I wasn't familiar with any other emergency vets in the area. This place showed up in a internet search, so I called the Carmel location which was closed and rerouted to Fishers. The lady on the phone was nice & advised it would be $100ish dollar to be seen for the initial consult. I said that was fine & they told me to bring her in. They checked her out, advised they would need to induce vomiting, and gave a breakdown of the price. I knew it would be expensive being an urgent care place but it was still a little more than I anticipated. Total price was around $830. That was for consult, the medicine to induce, the medicine to stop it, and some other items. The fine print also says you will get charged a 3% fee if paying by credit card so I paid with a debit. For reference, my normal vet which is a low cost clinic was about $140 to induce vomiting, as my other dog had to have the same thing done when he was a puppy 4-5 years earlier & ate something he shouldn't from the trashcan. Anyhow, being it was time sensitive I went ahead with it. They were able to remove the object & they called the next day to check on her. Nice staff & was able to help, but I would recommend only coming here for true emergencies that are outside normal operating hours of other vets.
